Sweet. If that's true, they will likely be doing the European festival rounds and that means I can probably catch them somewhere nearby.

Neil Young, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen *and* Fleetwood Mac almost deserves a trip to Glastonbury though.

I think it's a possibility that they will play "Hyde Park Calling" in London. The Police played last year and I saw REM a couple of years back.

Easy way to get a big crowd without having to bring the whole tour circus over.

It's more than Rumours: Fleetwood Mac for Glastonbury Festival?

eFestivals believes that Fleetwood Mac will be making an appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

The British/American rock band which formed in 1967 are putting together a 'Fleetwood Mac Unleashed: Hits Tour 2009', and it's more than a rumour that the dates will include an appearance at the Festival in Pilton, Somerset. The tour will feature the band's greatest hits, rather than their latest material, and will coincide with a new CD/DVD version of their classic album 'Rumours' which contains previously unreleased tracks and footage.

eFestivals is unsure which day they will be appearing, but one of our sources says that Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, and company will be playing on the Saturday.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival held for five full days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2009 at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset have already sold out months before the event.

A further release of a limited number of cancelled tickets will go on sale from 9am on Sunday 5th April 2009, although in order to do so you must have registered beforehand to be eligible to buy a ticket. However, it's unlikely that they'll be a huge number of tickets available on that day. They will be priced at £175 (plus a booking fee of £5).

Given that Bruce Springsteen & the e-street band are headlining Saturday night with Franz Ferdinand, I think it is unlikely that they will invite Fleetwood Mac too. I can't see Stevie/Linds playing third on the bill.

Fleetwood Mac linked to Glastonbury

Fleetwood Mac are rumoured to be on the bill for this year's Glastonbury.

The legendary pop-rock act's forthcoming 'Fleetwood Mac Unleashed: Hits Tour 2009' will call at the Somerset festival in June, according to eFestivals.

Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood's band are expected to play on the Saturday, underneath confirmed headliner Bruce Springsteen.

The band's tour will apparently promote their greatest hits and a re-release of the classic album Rumours rather than new material.

Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Blur are expected to headline this year's Glastonbury. Kaiser Chiefs, Lily Allen, The Specials, Franz Ferdinand, Madness, The Ting Tings, Lightning Seeds and Rolf Harris have also been linked to the five-day festival.

That Digital Spy story is just reporting the eFestival one. I just don't see it happening myself. I can't see the egos involved wanting to play anything other than a headlining slot and it looks like Young, Springsteen and Blur are taking those.

My flatmate is a massive Springsteen fan and he'll have a hell of a time rubbing it in if he headlines over FM... I don't see them doing it because I don't see them doing any UK dates at this stage, but I hope I'm wrong.

I've heard it's pretty definite that Fleetwood Mac are playing Glastonbury afterall and that they'll be playing the Saturday (the same day as Springsteen).
People are speculating that they'll play the "oldies slot" that Leonard Cohen took last year.

Surely this means a tour over here then? They wouldn't come to do the one date would they? I hope there will be other dates. My camping dayes are long gone!
