I'm just glad Boston isn't going to win. I'm pulling for this Rays team. I like the way they play and I like their manager. I kind of want the Phils to win given the history of the sports teams and fans from Philly, but I've got to stick with the Rays.

Nice going Tampa. You guys earned it. I'm not happy at all right now being a 30 year Red Sox fan, but like I said Tampa was able to pull it off. Congrats.

I hope this is a good omen. This can't be the 1983 World Series against the Orioles all over again, or can it??


*note: The '83 Phillies won game 1 against the O's on the road 2-1, but they had to come back to win that game.*

I seriously think the Orioles were the daddy of both Pennsylvania baseball teams for about 10 years there. They beat the Pirates in '71 and '79 and the Phillies in '83.

Actually the Pirates came back to win the '79 World Series in seven games. Of course I could live in some alternate universe.
