Hey Pat..

That's wonderful that PBS "will" refund people's money! I'm SOO glad I ordered from Amazon, and would definitely be contacting PBS if I ordered from them, for my money back! That's just false advertising, and I'm sure the Amazon copy will have a lot of the same pictures, if not all of them, and of course the tracks, plus more. I truly do hope PBS will honor that and give those poor people back their money!

Hugs,

Arlene

That is true. You know, it's just frustrating though, when people make claims and don't appear to follow through with them. I suppose I will more than likely buy the DVD, but I was just hoping that the things they said would on it, would be on it.

Yes that's wonderful that they have a return policy like 99% of all retailers.... And I'm SOO glad I DIDN'T order from Amazon! I can't imagine that sinking feeling in your gut you feel with every announcement that the release date has been pushed back - what are we up to 5 times now? - with an expected delivery date sometime in 2009! I feel sorry for those poor people that ordered through Amazon and fell for THEIR false advertising that it was being released...

But when you buy from Amazon and it doesn't come out on the release date, don't you get the opportunity to cancel the order? I haven't done it with music, but with books when they didn't send it to me as scheduled, they notified me of the delay and the anticipated new ship date and actually had me confirm that I still wanted it.

I've always thought it was funny that she stares at Lindsey, because he really doesn't seem to mind being stared at that much. I think he likes it. I think it actually encourages him to do misbehave rather than the other way around.

I remember laughing when she said he put her album on a stair and didn't listen to it and she said she stared at him for hours on end, until 2 a.m. in the morning or something. I just shook my head. I'm sure he ate that up. Best thing to do with him is ignore him. I think that punishment would be rather effective. Michele

Well, first of all Amazon didn't "FOOL" the public into telling them to order something with "Extra footage"- and false advertise!!! Second of all, 99% of ALL retailers don't "falsely advertise" something - knowing the truth- and doing so just to have people give them money!!! Thirdly- Amazon also gives you the chance to "APPROVE" the change that the originator has, as it's not their fault, so there is "NO" false advertising in the least with Amazon! Why give your money in good faith to someone who blatently "LIES" to the public?? No sinking feeling in my gut in the least, as I "KNOW" I'm going to get something good when it arrives! I already have a taped copy, and don't mind them re-scheduling!

Hey Michele..

Absolutely!! Not only do you get the choice to cancel, but you also get the choice to "approve" the order as well! Amazon is a great company to deal with, as I've gotten a lot of stuff through them!

Hey Michele..

Yeah, probably so! That stare of hers cracks me up! LOLOL.. I totally think that stare encourages Lindsey to misbehave also.. I have to say that part on The Dance during Silver Springs has to be my all-time favorite part to watch over and over.. It's hilarious..

The beautifully filmed video and crystal clear audio "IS" the reason to buy this DVD. I'm as disgusted as anybody about the missing material, and yes it was advertised by PBS as including it. But do we know that it was PBS decision to not include it? Maybe at the last moment Stevie Nicks herself or her rotten record company decided it should't be on there. Who pulled the plug on Stevie's last DVD release?

The other thought on this is, maybe it's going to be released closer to the time of the Fleetwood Mac tour and eventual album. It certainly would get more press. If Warner Bros even knows what press is! (See my post about Warner/Resprise in the Lindsey Buckingham thread).

When it comes down to it, I'll be ordering it from PBS because of the pristine sound and video of all SoundStage releases.

hey macman...ur right in saying amazon is cancelling the release date but they arent the ones who are responsible...its stevies production company warner bros who keeps changing the date...i for one am getting the amazon dvd bc i know i'll be getting the full and official release...amazon is the best place to buy from when u dont want to face disappointment running to best buy or walmart and finding out they didnt get it in or the few copies that they did get are sold out...i've ordered a lot of music dvds and i usually get them in 2 days verses the 2 weeks u wait for soundstage...the ONLY reason i'm ordering from pbs is i want the cover with the track listing...otherwise i'd never buy it knowing they mislead the fans about the bonus material...the ppl that were at the soundstage taping know what is missing on the dvd from pbs and they and the rest of us want the whole show... take care...pat

At this point I am suspicious that Soundstage will ever be released anywhere other than by PBS. I bought it there, and it would be nice if their comments were not misleading-- but I'm glad to have it at all. IF Stevie's Soundstage becomes available at Amazon on December 31st and IF it has "more" I will also buy it there, but I'm not convinced that's going to happen.

I remember a lot of people hoping "Storytellers" show would be released and it never happened. At least with this show we have a chance to get something out of PBS. Sure, it's short two songs-- but it's the best filmed presentation we have had featuring Stevie Nicks in a LONG time.

Hey Pat..

Aww.. absolutely! You know, as I was telling you yesterday, everyone is free, single and 21, (LOL) and welcome to buy anything from whoever they want. I was just saying, for me, personally, I just felt badly for the people who were "out" their money for something they paid for in "good faith" and were misled. For those buying from PBS, great! If you know about what you are getting, going into it, that's wonderful! But for me, personally, I'm very excited about the Amazon release, that as you said will be the "full and official" release! You're a doll Pat..

Hugs,

Arlene

Exactly! And like someone posted earlier, if people aren't happy, they have a return policy, just like Amazon has a "confirm or cancel" if you aren't happy that the date has been pushed back... Same difference.

I love Amazon.com, but they're not always accurate on release dates (or other details about an item).

I'm not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but none of the other online retailers -- Best Buy, Walmart, Circuit City, Barnes & Noble, Borders, CD Universe, etc., etc. -- have created a page for Stevie's 'Soundstage' or offered any information in the way of potential release dates. Not even back in July when it seemed the release was just a couple of weeks away.

Plus, there has never been an official announcement from Warner Bros about it. And you can bet there'd be a press release of some sort.

My advice -- if anyone wants it -- is to watch and wait, and not take every one of Amazon's ever-changing release dates to heart. Trust me, we'll all know for sure when it's really coming out.
