I liked her voice on the new soundstage.. It's not the same voice she once had. But her voice has always changed.. however.. I think she has always done her absolute best with it, and I like how it sounds now. During the St. Louis show, I was extremely pleased. Some people just aren't gonna accept it.. but I mean.. what can you do? Stevie's not gonna transform her voice into what you once loved, and there are only so many demos and bootleg recordings from the old days. So, to those holding on to the past, your days might be limited.

I'm looking forward to this release.. She looked like she was having fun, and I really hope that "Sara" is released on the CD.

Again, I think this perhaps is her solo coda and a good one at that.

As for the phone thing during Sara - - that is not really a cell phone thing. It and I were around way before cell phone LOL. In fact, I think she has used it before in the early late 70's early 80's -- though I could be mistaken.

I thought the phone thingy was kinda weird too..Plus she messed it up lol...Only used her thumb THEN brought in the pinky...lol

OK-

I just watched my broadcast off the DVR - AWESOME!! She seemed SO comfortable with herself, which isn't always the case when she's doing a TV thing. (It must of been those Ledgies that were there making her feel at home, right?

) There were a lot of real fans there, from what I remember reading here before, correct? Anyway, that showed by the way she performed. I was downright proud of her while I watched this.

She looked and sounded so great!! I especially loved Sara, HSML and Crash. I totally DID NOT expect to love Crash, as I'm not a big fan of Dave Matthews, but Stevie really had a fresh and interesting version of it. I loved it. And Sara - I've ALWAYS loved Sara, but it seemed the last time I saw her sing it (with FM) she seemd distracted and a bit "holding back". This time she just seemed to sing it as it should be, for the fans. Maybe when she sang it with FM she was distracted by Mick or Lindsey

I don't know. But I sure LOVED this version. In one word, Stevie seemed confident during the Soundstage performance. I can't wait to see part 2 next week. I hope there really will be a CD released as well as the DVD. That doesn't seem set in stone yet.

On a sidenote, my broadcast had some audio problems with it muting out for a few seconds here and there. Anyone else have that problem?

Well, we'd had a thread about Stevie and her air guitar and air piano (which she did on Soundstage last night) which incorporated her other gestures. Who can forget the lasso? So, now add this phone to the repertoire.

It's kind of funny, because as long as phones have been around, I think that gesture is relatively new, like 5-10 years old and I do associate it with the increasing ubiquity of the cell. Before, when people pantomined using the phone they would kind of put a fist to their ear, without poking out that pinkie. At least, that's what I see from observing tv, movies and stand up comedians

Except for Bob Newhart, who actually used a real phone in his sketch -- and Lily Tomlin who's device was not unlike the current blue tooth.

Today I went to lunch at the Hotel Bel Air and saw Demi Moore and Bruce Willis (and I believe Ashton too, but I don't really know him on sight) having lunch with their daughter and a swarm of about 9 young girls. I assumed that the daughter was having a birthday party or something. Anyway, the Willis daughter (don't know whether it was the youngest or the middle daughter) had on a top hat, gloves and a red shawl. It made me wonder if she was a Stevie Nicks fan. Who else dresses in just that combo?

It is on again tonight at 1:00 a.m.

Even though I have to be up for work at 6 a.m. I am staying up to burn the audio on my stereo burner...

I thought it was funny when she told the story of wanting to record/sing Crash and she was told that she couldn't because it wasn't a song for a girl, that it was a boy's song. Then she put her hands on her hips and tapped her foot. We all know that Stevie doesn't like to be told she can't do something. LOL. I really liked this version of it too, more so than when I saw her in April this year. I still can't believe how incredible her face looked on this show. She sure didn't look 60.

Yeah, I don't even know what the difference is between this version and the one I saw in February, but I think it rocks now. I'm not going to forgive her for doing a cover, because I like to attach meanings to Stevie's songs and I don't care to attach any to Dave's. So, I resent covers. But, this is now going up there with HSML and Sorcerer as to what makes me want to hit the "replay" button most.

There are so many different parts to savor, from the refrain to the childlike chant, "I'm the queen of the castle. You're the dirty rascal," to the "you're so dirty" part. I mean there are about 5 different little fun bits to anticipate.

I find the things she does to animate and illustrate a song -- when she doesn't have her tambo -- very interesting.

Clearly, she was trying not to fiddle with the strings on her mic for this performance, so she thought of different little things to do.

Over the years, she has had to cut down on the dancing, so the other fillers are always interesting to me. Some work and some don't.

Speaking of dancing, I was just thinking how powerful that old Angel clip posted in this thread is, because when she is standing at the mic with Lindsey she is making her body jump with hardly any effort at all. I mean it's not like she's moving her feet back and forth and you don't even see her leg bending. She just elevates up and down as if on a spring, fueled by pure willpower, almost.
