48 hours have come and gone with no reply from her. I'd be willing to bet money that she's just blocking my emails. So it's back to spinning my wheels....I gotta talk to someone in the legal field, see what it would cost me to sue her and what my chances of success would be - assuming that she even bothered to answer the summons. Mind you I think if she doesn't respond within 30 days I get a default judgement or something like that. I forget what the law is in Georgia. I do know if that if I want to sue her I have to do it in her home county...

It's pretty ****ty that she will reply to emails from new customers but won't address the issue with you. I hope you get something sorted out soon

Accepting orders, accepting payment, not delivering the orders, is not the way to run a business. I suggest to all of you who want Stevie style clothing to do what pete9000 says, visit a local dress maker. You may pay more but the transaction would probably be less frustrating. I understand all of the frustration some of you have/had felt over being given the run around.

Another option would be to just look in commercial stores. Whether it be Lord & Taylor, Macy's or Target. I have noticed plenty of clothing items in some stores that are very Stevie like. Also browse thrift shops, garage sales and Indian dress shops. I have purchased a couple of things very Stevie'ish for friends over the years through these types of establishments. Legwork and or car travel may be necessary but you will find what you are looking for with a lot less frustration.

I hope Bears roomie did not go postal on Bear for spinning around the house in all honesty here, pretty bad looking knock offs.

Send her a demand letter via certified mail, return receipt requested. Give her a specific deadline to refund your $, mention the Deceptive Trade & Practices Act.

You could file a claim in small claims court for about $50, and ask for her to pay your court costs as well.

I'm dealing with a deadbeat seller on ebay myself at the moment....I just brought out the can of whoop ass on 'em last nite...good thing I used a credit card...

My complaint to the Atlanta BBB was rejected due to insufficient information. I'll have to try again later.

I agree ~ since my dealings with Bear I have bought very little online but made it myself instead. At least with someone local you know exactly what you're getting.

I hope everyone gets their cases sorted out -- I think it's downright lousy of people to treat fellow fans so badly. If you can't fill orders, don't take them on. Good luck!

I sent some of the information I was able to dig up to the Better Business Bureau...they said they'd try to contact Bear and get back to me if she replied....

I'm keeping my fingers crossed....

I definately also recommend you do what Livia suggested. Just type up a very stern, well constructed letter, citing the DT&PA. Send it certified. It might concern her if she thinks you are serious about filing a suit against her. Some people do not care about having judgements against them but Bear might.

I would also report her to ebay if you see her selling her clothes on there again. I don't know if they will do anything but if you cause enough problems for Bear, you might end up getting a response from her. Ebay doesn't like deadbeat sellers, so if she has new auctions listed, let them know that she ripped you off. You could also contact anyone bidding on her items and let them know she ripped you off. (if you can see her bidders, ebay may have changed that recently) Just do not let it go...be a thorn in her side and make things as difficult for her as you can.

I'm working on that letter. I'm trying to get my point across without using profanity (which is a bit difficult but her having documents laced with swear words will certainly not help my case if I do end up taking her to court). I did mention the DTPA - thank you for that, I believe it will be very helpful.

I have every intention of being a rather large thorn in her side...in my family stubbornness is a dominant trait. If there's something wrong we do something about it and we don't stop 'til it's done, no matter how long it takes.

The Better Business Bureau says they've sent her a copy of my complaint and she has until June 22 to respond to it. I wonder what happens if she doesn't bother...

The more professional sounding and level-headed you are about it, the better.

I'm not sure what happens if she doesn't respond by the 6/22 deadline? I'd follow-up with the BBB at that point and ask them. They may not do anything, or they may give you some advice on how to proceed.
