My sister in law is adopted, and I'm still able to laugh.

On edit (not all the post appeared) -- I guess when there is no other gender parent, the remaining or only parent has to improvise. Doesn't the Big Brother and Big Sister type thing address this issue?

Just a thought
Sara had a male teacher last year who she loved to death. He was a wonderful teacher, and he still takes time out to go and talk to Sara and asks her to lunch every so often. It was his first year teaching, adn I think he found his calling in life. He is such a gentle and soft spoken man. I have a lot of respect for him.
I found out that he was a gay man when I ran into him and his partner at TGIFridays last winter, and he looked rather worried as his partner quickly walked away. That made me sad, because he was obviously worried that I would figure out his orientation and tell, but I didn't breathe a word.

most in laws are an annoyance in the first place so I see the humor in that...

But hearing the BS from my sister's own voice about the life of adoption hell is another thing.

Oh well, who cares what the f**k i have to say anymore, "i'm just a convenience".

Lord Child - as if you would give a ****te about his gayness considering ya hang out with MOI

Seriously, that is way sad that he has to hide like that. Just goes to show you that the world outside of some areas of big cities is harsh

But, I am glad that she had that male figure in her life!!!!!!!

The reason I asked was because I suppose it is hard as a single mother to find a man that can be trusted - and I do not mean trusted not to molest the child or anything like that - I mean that has the same moral system that the single parent does and/or they will not be an a$$hole in the end.

You know, I had to look up what a 'poon hound' meant and my dictionary only gave me 'poon tang'. Needless to say, I was a little scared to look any further.

Very well put. That was what I was so ineffectively trying to articulate a few posts back.

It needs more than a man to make a father, and more than a woman to make a mother, IMO.

Beautifully put.
