I remember him saying that.. and also adding that he believed it was from an old slave song. If I remember right (and it's not in front of me) there aren't any writer credits for it in the OOTC liners.

Does anyone happen to have a good quality mp3 of HCTS? I'd like to get a copy of it, if anyone has it and is willing to share, please.

"Good quality" recording, most likely. "Good quality" arrangement or performance? Never happened. ![]()

I'd rather have a .wav than an mp3, but I just figured that was the format people were most likely to have.
I quite like LB's version but I can't think of it as HCTS, it's too different. I just take it as a different song. |

I didn't care for it either, and I just played it again to make sure I wasn't having a bad day the first time I heard it, but for me, George Harrison's version, or, I mean THE BEATLES' version would be hard to top. Maybe if he had the entire band playing. I don't know... By the way RichardB, "Moby" is too cute! |

LB also covered Teen Beat (on the FM The Chain 25 years box set), Cool Water (a "B" side track of a single FM release) and Blue Monday (an unreleased version of the Fats Domino hit during the Mirage sessions). Previously mentioned were those on OOTC (All My Sorrows, instrumental This Nearly Was Mine), Law & Order (It Was I, September Song and A Satisfied Mind). Also Love Minus Zero on the Say You Will Deluxe Edition. Someone mentioned I've Been Loving You Too Long also on the Mirage sessions and the New Years Eve performance of Here Comes the Sun. On UTS you have To Try for the Sun and I Am Waiting. The GOS unreleased demos of Stones songs includes The Singer Not The Song, She Smiled Sweetly, Gotta Get Away and Blue Turns to Gray. LB performed Louie Louie on a radio show during the OOTC tour. When he and Stevie joined, during FM concerts, LB was lead singer on covers of former FM songs Hypnotized, Green Manalishi and of course Oh Well (there may have been other, those are the ones that immediately come to mind). On the BN debut album, Django is an instrumetal cover. As a group FM performed (assumed to be at LB's urging) Brian Wilson's Farmers Daughter (Tusk re-release studio version and a live version on FM Live). Did I miss any? |
