A good practice. I am well curious about what happens...but I am loving life way too much to find out for myself anytime soon. I swear...I am the most curious person I know.

Default sorry, long post, but would appreciate feedback

So after having read this thread, I want to ask some people about something I mentioned before. The law of thermodynamics states that energy can be turned into different forms, but it can't be created or destroyed. Most people's experiences or beliefs that I have read here indicate that that is true, that the energy of people has taken different forms after they died. Especially all the "spooky" stories.
But no one here has made the same connection that these sort of occurences relate to some laws of physics as we know them to occur on Earth and in our universe. Just that simple law of the nature of energy.
Why is that?

Also, for the more religiously inclined, I know it is a matter of faith, but have you also considered this law of energy? And in that sense, do you believe that this energy (the soul, if you will) does not remain on Earth but goes instead to heaven or hell, the locations of which we really don't know? Do you believe heaven and hell are in our universe? Do you believe they are parallel states sort of "right here" on Earth?
It seems to me that concept of religion, though it has been clouded in myth and story, in its' essence is basically the same as believing that the law of thermodynamics is true, all energy continues to exist in a different form, the difference being that the religious person believes that that energy goes to specific places.

Anyone? Anyone? You know I like to mix science with my airy fairy. In this case, science seems to support the airy fairy that people have been observing and experiencing for millenia. I mean, it kind of seems "obvious" to me when you consider that energy can't be created or destroyed that people's energetic essence is all around here somewhere. And from anecdotal evidence, it seems that the energy is often reincarnated, or at least moves into other things and beings, or lights, anything with an energy field.

Cool There's wolves in Oklahoma...

I've known many other people who have had experiences regarding deceased parents and animals. Also, I think that is really beautiful that they appeared as wolves. But I didn't know there were wolves in Oklahoma, if you catch my drift.
but in the NE/SE portions of the state (Timberwolves to be precise - I love 'em), I never knew of wolves being in this part of the state (SW).

It was weird as I traveled about 20MPH around a curve to see that pair of grey wolves (I bottle fed 2 coyote pups once, those were NO WAY coyotes) running from one pasture, to the highway and stop directly in the lanes, look towards my direction (As I said, I immediately heard Mom's voice) and continue across to the highway to a pasture with woodland.

Below is a link that contains pictures of the Gray (Or grey) wolf:

I know, man, your story immediately struck me as being exactly what you thought it was. You don't seem like a guy who's prone to excessive flights of fancy or anything. It's just too specific to not be real (IMO). I believe those were your parents. At least your mom, and some hot wolf guy. lol.
That is very cool, like I said before. I hope my parents appear as mountain lions or something.
After I said that, I just had a thought about killing bugs, and what that really may be, those bugs. I can't take bugs, though. I should stop thinking that right now.

I think this begins to enter the realm of Quantum Physics. Have you seen the new theories around black holes and the problems they are having resolving the dual existence of atoms? (I know you watch many documentaries and NOVA type stuff, so thought you might have caught the new physics one on Science Boundaries - the new Steven Hawking one) . This is basically where the mathematics have shown that as one enters the event horizon, the observer believes that a person entering a black hole is ripped to shreds, while the person going in is actually not effected at all. Also they are now showing that some forms of energy are actually LEAVING black holes rather than being sucked down into the singularity.

And is conscience a form of energy? or something else? Could the energy required for this also be used by the mind to create it's own afterlife as it converts away from the body? Making it's own transport?

As far as Heaven or Hell, there are archaeological findings that show a place called "hell" was an area in ancient times where they processed animal carcasses for leather and dyes. This was a smelly, hot awful place and may have played a part in the use of the name in scripture.

Bugs are those people who picked on fluffs when they were people.

I don't think I've seen that one. My first thought is that...sh*t....It doesn't seem that whatever happens to a person in the black hole, or that if some forms of energy are leaving black holes, that that means that energy is destroyed. Quite the opposite. So while that is extremely interesting, I can't pinpoint as to where it would effect the theory of energy. In other words, it still indicates that energy cannot be created or destroyed, just change forms. The new twirl is that energy does so much more crazy sh*t than we ever knew about before. I hope I read your thing right, I think I did. I'm actually not very "good" at science, but I love it and do my best. Yeah, I got it I think. The latest fascinating thing I saw was about string and (vs.?) chaos theory.

In my experience, science has show that consciousness (or did you really mean conscience?) is a form of energy. In fact, IMO, that is a basic tenent of human biology and all the other good science stuff. But, I would hesitate to say that the mind could create its' own afterlife. Very hesitant. However, it does appear that this energy can take different forms, chosen ones, so I just kind of changed my mind about that. And of course energy can always transport without a "body". The thing that confuses me is, what about the energy that doesn't make ghosts and wolves and spooky happenings? It probably takes other forms, but why? Why does some energy communicate with us, and some doesn't? Or, really, is all energy past and present "communicating" with the world at all times, just not in a "human" way that we understand? That is what I am inclined to believe.

Wow, I'd NEVER heard that!!! That is really fascinating! And so appropriate, don't you think? Of course that would be hell. Oh, and where was the hell in ancient times?

Damn, I got a guy who's hella way smart, that was quite the small but surmountable challenge, in addition to being a fun conversation and a fount of info. All my favorite things at once.

All evidence in the world points to that not being true at all...

Thanks, though. I love to get a random kissy and the feeling that I might be important, once in awhile. Who doesn't?

Dad in form of a wolf along with Mom letting me know they're watching out for me, but naturally Mom's voice was the one I heard. My Dad was Cherokee afterall, and the wolf is sacred to our people, and old Cherokee stories tell of how departed loved ones return in the form of a wolf or owl

Oh, as for Heaven & Hell...That's the name of the group which is nothing more than the upcoming Ronnie James Dio era Black Sabbath reunion, but with a band name change

It is in this thread... But in my initial post I didn't say "thermodynamics".
That's what I meant, what I said in this thread about it. All I said was that energy can't be created or destroyed, blah blah, so everyone's energy is still here, somewhere, etc.
