We're talking about the same woman who blamed him for her stage attire on the SYW tour.

Now that I'd pay $150 a ticket for.

Then you have to at least have to give him equal time for her blaming him for her wardrobe choices on the SYW tour and later saying she didn't like the way her songs came out on the record.

I thought they had some chemistry that night - didn't you? I mean it was the same actions as in every other show -- but the ad lib stuff like FL was cool and I though during that you could see the affection (on whatever level) they have for each other. I also saw him whispering things in her ear, which I read to be "you look beautiful tonight" and "you know I love you" or thereabouts.

In the end, I think they have within the rote BS, their little love affair on stage - and why not I say.

Interestingly, she said her toned down outfit was still fabulous and by the end of the tour, many additional outfits were hauled out.

Personally, I find it somewhat charming that she would tone it down for him.

Yes they had their little moments. I am not discounting that at all. There was a certain amount of tension in the air as well. So that night it was for real. But this bull**** about how close the mics are and looking in each others eyes is too much. Spontaneous? Fine. Scripted so Mick can buy another painting or Stevie can buy another racehorse? Meh.

I think she deserves at least the benefit of the doubt, since we weren't there during this Faust-like meeting. And I just hope they'll keep those mics at the opposites sides of the stage. I can do without a whole round of articles with the priest preaching about his integrity thrown into the dust by the evil bandmates.

Bless you.

i read this, and thought, yeah. that's how i feel. the whole stage act is just that - an act. there is no arguing that, when they do the exact movements, looks, hand holds, hugs, slow dances, etc night after night after night after night. i say this even as i sigh and admit to having been (still am) a shipper at heart. i died over "thrown down." i wanted to believe... but having seen multiple shows, having read what BOTH of them have said since, i'm actually a little peeved by the fact that they pretend to be who they WERE just to make a buck. do they have moments of honesty and true feelings? sure - but only moments. flashes in the proverbail pans. for the most part - they're following a well-rehearsed script. and they're ALL guilty of that.

so then i read this...

Here he is trying to be a relevant artist and we've got Mick and Stevie scripting out the next tour like it's a Mexican soap opera. I suppose we could get a cardboard cut out of Christine that John could make googly eyes at every once in a while during the set too.
Stevie, I am so damn frustrated with you right now. Make another record and at least try to be the relevant female artist you were (?) are (?) and not a performer who needs all of her ex boyfriends to get her through. Remember Bella Donna? It's time to revisit that period in your career.
Rant off.
... and thought yeah, baby. you're right on.

and now i'm depressed.

I'm not getting this at all. In the last 12 years, Stevie has done 2 solo albums (plus go through rehab and Lindsey has done one. What is this thing about the so-called relevant LB just because he finally released something in the last few months?

I can understand everyone's frustrations and disappointment... I would LOVE a new Stevie solo album (I wouldn't turn my nose up at a new album with the Mac, but, frankly, that's not very high on my wishlist). But at this point in Stevie's life and career, I doubt she's very worried about busting her back to be "relevant." She's spent the better part of the last 35 years touring and recording, and if she wants to take a more carefree approach to things these days, she should be able to.

I have a feeling she's enjoying having the freedom to just go off on tour with Don Henley or Tom Petty, or fly to Australia, or play a few nights in Vegas. She's still getting to perform and entertain, but without having to worry about meeting deadlines, booking studio time, hiring producers, and so forth.

I'd say she's earned the right to call her own shots and do what she wants to do.
