These two people are performers but they are not actors. They go through certain rote acts but I think the emotion is genuine. You've only got to see the video of Say goodbye on youtube to see that.
And - they readily and repeatedly admit the emotion is real as well. They just then always are careful (esp. Stevie) to say that emotion stops when they leave the stage, where they can be in love again for those few hours and while singing those songs.

I do, however, think La Nicks is a fairly good actress because I have seen her so many times and, having been on a stage once or twice myself, recognize that stage personage, which she really does not portray in any way in any of the times I have have happened to see her off stage. I mean her job is to sell it to the cheap seats and she does that in spades, esp. when she takes a notion to do so.

I think it is 90% a crock and an act.

I think if you're in a band with multiple songwriters there has to be much negotiation about what goes into the setlist. I don't think it would be an easy task for anyone much less ex lovers! So Stevie handed him her idea and I am sure (somewhat srue?) she didn't expect it to be the final list. It was just her input. I think Lindsey phrased it the way he did to add drama. He gets off on feeding the fan drama I think! I don't know. I don't think anything he said was hateful or hurtful. He's just a nervous nellie IMO so he overanalyzes everything to death.

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - on edit - the rote movements that is. I do think on some nights, they really may go to that old place even if just for a second. Is it there every night, who can say but them and they have.

and - it sells - so more power to them.

I agree with this 100%. I used to think it was ALL bull****, but there are some performances (I'm thinking a couple of Silver Springs and that one Say Goodbye comes to mind) but I think it's more the exception than the rule.

Oh for the love of god. They are so over. I'm sorry but she refuses to do any new music and Mick (cha ching!) is all for the bull**** "We're still in love after all these years" schtick. Stevie, I am so damn frustrated with you right now. Make another record and at least try to be the relevant female artist you were (?) are (?) and not a performer who needs all of her ex boyfriends to get her through. Remember Bella Donna? It's time to revisit that period in your career.
Rant off.

I know if I was on stage and singing into my former love of my life's eyes a heartwrenching song I wrote in an heightened emotional state about them, I'd tend to go there even if just for a second.

Also, at LB's soundstage taping, I was maybe ten feet from them and you could feel the emotion, it was palpable. So, I stand by that the emotion is real at times though the actions are rote.

Oh, Goldie. That sounds like one of my rants a few months back.
No need to be sorry. Just say you were channeling me.

Well, everyone's different. For me, nothing's colder than ashes after the fire. But keeping those ashes around ain't making me a few hundred grand a night either.

The "looking into each others' eyes" stuff is... well, it is what it is, I guess.
But I actually like the idea of them standing a little closer to each other (for aesthetic reasons). Four adults could lay end to end on the stage between Lindsey & Stevie's mics... the distance between them is ridiculous.
Hell, even Mick Jagger & Keith Richards and Steven Tyler & Joe Perry stand closer together on stage!

And how I wish they would. I am requesting that Anne Heche, Joe Walsh, Rupert Hine and Carol Ann Harris do exactly that on the next tour. Now there's some old romance rehashing I would look forward to seeing.

How about LB and SN sharing a microphone (a la Angel from the Tusk tour). THAT would certainly get the crowd going!

A to the Men, sistah! Preach it! No apologies!

In my dreams: Stevie is waiting to record again until Rick Rubin can fit her into his schedule, and the Racounteurs are finished touring so Jack White can co-produce.

Please. Who would hand a setlist to a guy who starts whining around with everyone and their dogs (and especially with the press... "Stevie didn't thank me for the work on the songs", "Stevie is blaming me again", "Stevie doesn't want the double record", "Stevie is angry with me", "Stevie won't tour", "Stevie is using another person to mix one song"... ) He must be the reason why she's always brought with her music to hear with the earphones.
I think she deserves at least the benefit of the doubt, since we weren't there during this Faust-like meeting. And I just hope they'll keep those mics at the opposites sides of the stage. I can do without a whole round of articles with the priest preaching about his integrity thrown into the dust by the evil bandmates.
