quite the contrary, i left in the middle of the war here, and came back after it was finished, while the coup in thailand happened after i left.

nope, i brought them from home. ever since i got them i can't wear anything else, there are 3 pairs of shoes that i bought afterwards, and they're just laying wrapped in the closet, coz i didn't wear them even once. luckily EVERYONE in israel wears crocs, so i don't feel like i'm wearing anything distinctivly ugly.
