OK, at age 14 I knew I was a lesbian (Stevie made me think about me LOL), so I had girlfriends, went to gay bars etc. At age 33 I meet this man Dirk. I have nothing against men so we became friends and he was a true gentleman, the knight in shining armour etc. We were friends for about 6 months and suddenly it hit me..... I was in love with a man!!!!! Panick city but I decided there was nothing wrong with that, you have no control over your feelings etc. I knew he was in love with me and in Oct. '96 we became a couple. The first few months were great but than he started drinking and doing drugs, mainly cocaine. I saw this man change from the knight into a demon. The first time he hit me was Jan. '97. I should've walked away right then and there. I didn't. I had this crazy idea:"If this relationship doesn't work, I'll be alone for the rest of my life". I stayed with him for 4 1/2 years and he beat me up so badly my own doctor didn't even recognize me. Every time he was drunk or on coke all hell broke lose. In Feb. 2001 we had a fight about a little thing: he had f***** up the computer and I fixed it. He couldn't stand it that I could do it and he couldn't. He screamed obsceneties and wanted to beat me up again and all of a sudden it hit me:"This isn't going anywhere, this will only get worse. One of us is gonna be killed but it's not going to be me". So while he was screaming and yelling I started to pack my stuff, took my cat and got the hell out. I was single for a few years, didn't trust anyone but then I moved to the USA in 2004 and met Peg, the love of my life and we've been together eversince. She is the most wonderful woman on this earth. We plan to get married and spend the rest of our lives together. But an idiot I was.... big time!!!!!
I love your sig. It's tough to get out of any relationship. When it's a abusive you don't think straight because they screw with your sense of who you are. Many people waste many more years than you did. I'm so glad to hear you're with a great person now

Thank you. I've heard/read several stories of people who couldn't get out of that similar sitaution. I thank God I had the strength to finally say:"Til here and no further". I honestly think that one of us would've died, that's how destructive the relationship was but I was sure it wasn't gonna be me.
And now... Peg is the greatest, she's so sweet. She would never hurt me or beat me up etc. She's wonderful.

Actually no Debbie, you were not an idiot and quite the contrary, you were brave. You fell into a trap that unfortunately many women do, but had the good sense to remove yourself from a very dangerous and damaging situation. Many women stay and for that reason, many women die. Good for you for having the strength to get out when you did and your reward was finding Peg.

Exactly!! I do not think you're an idiot because of the above situation. I'm so glad that you got out as so many won't don't!

Also - it's great that you found Peg - so out of something bad - came something good - and it gives us love-fans some inspiration

Thanks. It was a very dangerous situation and one of us could've been killed. I feel so sad for the women who stay in an abusive relatioship.
Peg is wonderful, I've never met anyone like her, she's so sweet. I love her with all my heart. And you're right, she is my reward.

I'm glad I could be an inspiration. I like the way you look at this situation.

so this was my blonde moment awhile back. (I'm really not this stupid-I was just having a bad day. whaddaya do? )

SO. I had to visit my dermatologist which is about 2 hours away. My husband had asked me the week before if I needed directions and I insisted "NO..I've been going there since I was 14 and did NOT need directions!! (huff huff)"

we get lost.
we took a friend with us and she is just laughing her ass off. So he starts mocking me. You know the one-the head is bobbing back and forth and finger is waiving.."I don't NEEEED no directions...been coming here for 14 years....damn right" whatever. So i tried to save what little dignity I had left and said "I have NOT been coming here for 14 years..I've been coming here since I was 14!!!!! " He turns to look at me and says...."erm..how old are you??"
"28.....****!!!"

yeah. I have those moments all the time.

I've pulled a niki. :sigh: This weekend while at the mall I stopped in at Bath & Body Works. I picked up some lotion. Last night, before I went to bed, I rubbed some in on my forearms and hands. My hands and arms were totally sticky the more and more I rubbed the stuff in. I gathered as it was "mango and manderin orange" that there was a lot of orange extract. I washed my hands and went to bed. I showered and such in the morning. I noticed all day that my forearms itched like crazy! Tonight when I came home, I looked at the back of the tube to see the ingredients and what I may be allergic to. I noticed the directions state apply with a wet washcloth. HUH? I looked at the front and what I purchased is actually creamy body wash. I am now paying the price. I am going to go steam this chit from my pores. :wah:

Talking Well..

now that I think of it, this past Memorial Day after we layed flowers on my Mother's grave we decided to head over to my Father's grave (About a 25 mile drive).

On the way over there I kept hearing something that sounded like rocks/pebbles hitting the inner hub on our car. I remember asking Deb if she heard that sound, "Nope" she replied.

So I just thought maybe a gravel truck had traveled on this busy highway, So I paid not much mind to the sound until we turned onto the street leading to the Ft.Gibson National Cemetary. That damned sound started up again, So once again I asked Deb if she heard that time, to which she replied "Yeah".

So we pull into the cemetary, I drive around to my Father's grave and stop the car, turn it off and get out. I laid my flowers at Dad's headstone and after a few moments of quiet time we started back to the car....To finally notice what may have been that frikkin sound, it seems that earpiece for my cellphone fell from the indoor compartment on the driver's door and was dragged for a 25 mile trip.

Popped it back in the phone and made a call, yep Still worked after that trip. Would've been a better story had it been my Nokia phone

^^

Whoops! heh - and I LOVE the new sig...

Also - the body wash/lotion thing- I've totally done that. I found some lotion that I thought smelled just lovely, so I bought it - then after my shower I applied it - but it was all funny and not lotion-like - only I did look at the bottle right away only to find that it was body wash.

Ultimate idiot moment still belongs to my grandma who once bought groceries - then left them (ALL) at the grocery store How one does that I'll never know, she shopped, paid etc - but then left them there! She was also notorious for wearing two different shoes - I've never understood how that happens.

since the same thing happens with the band Pink Floyd: "By the way, Which one is Pink?"

But of course I still laugh at morons who state the following:

"I think Lindsay is a very sexy woman, and that Stevie can sure play guitar and sing, he is very talented" Tsk, tsk, tsk...
