Oh, man. I think this is FULL ON white trash. But, that isn't a totally bad thing. It's just funny on so many levels. I kinda feel bad for the kid, but you know what ? I know a lot of cool white trash. Some of my best friends grew up white trash

It's a culture that is rife with funny stuff, has plenty of charm, and not in and of itself bad. Many of us do complete white trash things and get a kick out of it. Lots of people have no clue how white trash they really are. It's a fantastically ironic thing. I mean, let's be honest here...hanging out on a fan forum for a rock band is kind of white trash. Granted, the band isn't Molly Hatchet, but still....

i taught eighth grade last year. those kids are 13, 14, 15, and some 16 and they're doing things that i didn't get around to until the end of high school, if ever. i'll be the first to get up on a soapbox and lay blame on pop culture. kids imitate what they are presented with. if it's positive, chances are they'll make positive decisions at least most of the time. if it's gretchen wilson bellowing about beer, well, maybe that's why my nose twitched while posting in this thread. i'm glad to get sixth grade this year.

Yikes - my sister teaches sixth grade - not sure they'll be much better. I was SHOCKED by some of the stories my sister told me.

And yes, a large chunk is on pop-culture. Namely - one of the stories was a couple of sixth grade (age 11) girls were making out with each other while the boys cheered them on and gave them money. Sad.

It's also a problem of parenting though - I mean my sister will have kids all year and never meet some of their parents - that's just sad to me.

Songs like that give us Southerners a bad name.
