funeral songs

I always wanted "Gyspsy" played at my funeral

I always wanted "Never Have I Been A Blue Calm Sea, I Have Always Been A Storm" printed on my Gravestone!

Its on her album "Bare" - A great album if I do say so myself

There is this New Zealand artist by the name of Yulia who is HUGE here, and she also sung this song on her first album - alot of people loved it

That video/song kills me. I'm fine, up until the part of the video where they show that woman, and underneath it says "Nobody can see me".

So, the song I want played at my funeral? Probably Cyndi Lauper's Above The Clouds.

There’s a place where the sun breaks through
And the wind bites cold and hard
Stings my ears and
Tears my eyes
When the day starts to shout out loud

Stand tall
And glide
When you’re all alone in the crowd
Don’t fall
Don’t hide
When you walk above the clouds

When the light is against your face
And your smile is soft and sound
That’s when you tell me all your fears
and all your dreams
So proud

Stand tall
And glide
When you’re all alone in the crowd
Don’t fall
Don’t hide
When you walk above the clouds

I try and tell you
to keep your head upright
Don’t swing your sword and shield against the night
Don’t block your blessings, boy
You don’t have to fight

Stand tall
And glide
When you’re all alone in the crowd
Don’t fall
Don’t hide
When you walk above the clouds

C. Lauper

And I who went to sleep as two
Woke up as one now only you remain

Goodbye baby
I hope your heart's not broken
Don't forget me
Yes I was outspoken
You were with me all the time
I'll be with you one day

I came so close to playing that at Jason's funeral, but I didn't want to always associate it with his death. I do anyway, so I should have played it. I have a hard time listening to that album anyway, because I had it in heavy circulation at that time. He died just 2 months after it's release. As far as my funeral.... I don't even think of it.
