Its great because Stevie still does the "No No No Not Again...Not Again Baby" but also does "Not to Be...Not Again...Not to be...."

Her vocal on this track great but I was especially taken with the music and how it was done. Sort of unusual for GDW but I can't really put my finger on it ... stronger, somehow, more strident.

Isn't it fabulous The music has got that magic feel to it that all the OSOTM shows have, alot like the album

EDIT: She says "Not to Me" in other GDW's in this tour like the Houston, TX show - But in this one she is totally saying "Not again baby, not to be"

I love Mirage because you get the music as is. Christine plays an upright, they do play a lot of non-singles. I hate when a band plays nothing but singles. It's not overproduced, It's not full of back up players. They don't care about getting every note right. Or harmonies for that matter!

A agree wholeheartedly. The imprefection gives it a certain bit of character that you lack in LIB/The Dance.

I totally agree. The only thing I don't like about the Mirage video is that it was edited down to just 13 songs. I would have preferred that they had released the entire set. I LOVE the Dance DVD, but the Mirage video is an actual concert from the Mirage tour. The Dance is a bit more like a studio release. And, there's really nothing wrong with the quality, if you have the original released videotape. I HOPE that someday it will be officially released on DVD.

this is exactly what I was about to say.

also, I don't think Stevie sounds horrible. her voice is strained...which is nothing new, but, to me, it really works during this concert. I do think Gypsy is a little off due to the vibrato. I know from experience that when your voice is strained, vibrato tends to show up more, it's just unconcious.

Stvie had walking pneumonia during this tour, & many dates were postponed, including the nights filmed for the video.

It's just a whole different Stevie that you wouldn't be used to if you turned on to Stevie during The Dance or later. And of course as has already been mentioned, this was back in the day when the four musicians were practically the only people playing the music. Some fans love that & some don't. It was an entirely different era in live music, & probably sounds alien to young people who have no direct experience of a relatively small combo actually playing live onstage. It's that old Woodstock mentality from the '60s. These days, there are millions of dollars at stake so bands pad themselves out live with human & electronic equipment.

People playing music live without mechanical/electronic adornments has been around since Ogg started beating on rocks with bones from a wolly mammoth...it didn't just start when John Sebastian took the stage in Bethel in '69.
