Mirage Live

Did anyone else think that the Mirage live video was AWFUL!? Stevie really strains her voice and for some reason Lindsey is snogging the microphone during 'Not that Funny'. Certain songs remain a mystery to me - why are Not that Funny and Sisters of the Moon even on there? As far as I know, they were not singles. I much prefer the Tango in the Night video except for Stevie's close-up's that were clearly done seperatly (what was with that!?) however White Wing Dove live Kicks ALL the FM live video's.

Stevie was really workin' the vibrato/goat thing, I noticed. Especially during Gypsy. I loved SOTM, though.

He's doing a lot more than that during Not That Funny.

Have to agree. The whole thing was quite scary. Not That Funny especially. I hope I never have to endure it again. The only real reason to dig it out agian are Rhiannon, SOTM and to a certain small extent Gypsy.
Not to mention the video and sound quality was abysmal.

PS: The Dance is top of my list, followed closely by Tango. Had Lindsey been there it would have been perfect. The whole thing was stunning. Sure, the close-ups were done separately, but she looked HOT.
And Gold Dust Woman on that video is to kill or die for.

Oh yeah - I love this version of GDW, as you can tell from my signature - I love the "No, No, No, No, Not Again Baby... Not Again" on the ending of the late 80's GDW's - so amazing.

If anyone has the song ripped to MP3, please share :D

Woah, that's crazy talk!! Stevie's voice was terrible on the Tango video. I can't listen to it, it's passionless and sounds like it's been processed through a computer. At least the Mirage concert has some rawness and passion!
As for playing Not That Funny and Sisters Of The Moon when they weren't singles: Yep, it's terrible when bands play songs that weren't singles. I hope they never play The Chain, Eyes Of The World and Gold Dust Woman and many other concert faves if that's the case.
Funnily enough though Not That Funny and Sisters Of The Moon were actually singles. I have 7" singles for both. :)

You need to get an original VHS copy then. The sound and picture quality is much better than on the ropey DVD that was released.

The Dance version? I have the CD version that was a b-side of one of the Dance singles somewhere. Let me see if I can find it. I posted it before in the past along with the other missing songs from the Dance CD. :)

Actually, the performance was in 1987.

I've always felt the Mirage shows were less than cohesive. That's understandable considering the band dynamics at the time.
