Still There,

Note: There are rumors circulating on the Internet that Stevie may be performing at a Las Vegas private party on October 14th. The rumors are false

Oh, I'm sure it was. But the more we get into these details, the more Mageboy25's point is well taken. It is what it is and I don't expect more from Stevie. Just commenting.

Yeah, well those were the olden days, Brandon.

BTW, your sig reminds me of that classic from the 80's:

We con-nect
When we're together, it's so per-fect
Boy, you shot me with your white, hot love
I (something) overload
I explode when we connect

I hate to say I told you so, but clearly Stevie's management is nipping this event in the bud. Sorry for everyone that had their hopes up.

i agree with you

just wish Stevie wanted to make this happen for her and her fans... i would assume (possibly incorrectly) that one who appreciates and acknowledges their fans and wants to connect with them would jump at the chance to have a concert with fans from the past 30 years... AND if that dont interest her cash in on them and get paid possibly $100K!!

Now someone is going blast me over that cant keep everyone happy

IMO perhaps stevie gave the best gift possible
to her fans at this time...letting peeps know via
nicksfix this isnt going to happen as 'planned'
id think we would all agree would have sucked
more so if this was 'acknowlegded' say oct 13

yes i agree... i have put my name down to go to this, and your absolutely right that finding out a few days before this that she wasn't going to attend would be the worst.

The only thing I'd say to that, is simply to remember that just because something doesn't happen, it doesn't mean that one of the parties didn't want it to happen. I imagine there is a lot that goes into coordinating something like this... including arranging for a band to play a one-off gig, as well as travel arrangements & expenses for the band and their equipment.

I think this was a great idea on paper, but that maybe a few people got a little ahead of themselves in their expectations for it.

well...IMO if someone wants something
to happen they make every effort for
it to happen...even if it means eating $$$
especially those that can well afford
altho i could be wrong
and i would suppose it would depend
on which party is doing all the wanting

But then how much money might one expect Stevie to eat, when there are travel expenses, a band to pay, the possible need for rehearsal time (if, say, Brett Tuggle isn't available and she needs to bring a different keyboardist), and so forth?

I believe when Stevie's done private gigs in the past, she was either preparing to hit the road, in the middle of a tour, or had just finished one... so she had a band in place. For something like this, I don't know that she could just call Taku or Waddy Wachtel out of the blue and say "Hey, what're you doing on October 14th?"

well as i wrote
i could be wrong imo
i was commenting in general
nothing specific to msnicks
or this circumstance
more a comment on WANTS
ways to make those happen
no matter what

how do they work those
free concerts in the park?
for charity i guess they make it work
and i suppose some of those monies
collected offset the expenses

as i believe i mentioned earlier...
id be estatic with an additional tour
and a 'ticketmaster' ticket...
in the meantime...
ive the music for my ear
a wonderful want fullfilled

Maybe, just maybe Stevie had something planned for Oct. 14th. Did someone even bother to ask her if she had that date open to begin with?
