Paula, its a guy thing. For them, bigger is always better! It just is what it is. Plus, you really can't say anything after flying to Vegas just to see Stevie. Sorry, but that is true. One person's extravagance is another's need. Okay not really a need but you know what I mean. I guess you could look at it another way, as a symbol of his hard work? Then put FM on!

Yeah, and didn't he drive all the way to Hershey PA and back in the middle of the night with you to keep you company so you could see the Mac? You must feel terrible

I have a 32" in my bedroom and a 46" in the living room. I think 42" to 46" is a good size. Then again, the hi def tubes are nice too...but the largest is a 36". The 50" Pioneer plasma model that best buy sells is SUPER nice.

I bought my husband a 56 inch for our 1 year anniversary. I'm still paying on it and that was over a year ago *L* but I did get free financing, so no biggie. It was something he has wanted for 5 years. I figured, I got the dining room table/chair I wanted, the dog, the house, the couches. That was the least I could do. and YES....FM is awesome on it!!!

I have a 56", that I love. Believe it or not, it was GIVEN to me, by my drummer's uncle. He had gotten religious, and no longer watched much TV. It did need a repair though, and he didn't want to fool with it. But, I know a technician, who worked at RCA. He fixed it for $20!
My $20, 56" TV!!! It looks great! Deal of a lifetime......

Arrow We do

My dad and I went in halv-sies (half-sies? LOL) on a big screen TV a couple of years ago. Went to Best Buy and got it. It's 54" I believe. I figured most folks had them these days because they aren't as expensive as they used to be. Maybe I'm wrong.

Wow, Homer, that sounds like a MAJOR deal you got!

I'm a total dude when it comes to electronic stuff. I love big TV's, DVD players, stereo systems, etc. LOL

We bought a 46 inch.... I love it! I think I've had it about 4 years now. I think it's just right. I have a friend who has a 60 inch (65?) It's almost as tall as I am, and I'm 5' 3".... It's huge, but I think it distorts the picture. I hate to go over there and watch movies.

I have the 52 inch flat screen so Hubby can enjoy football.

The ballast went out at the beginning of football season and he said he did not care how much it cost to fix, must have back in operation immediately!

As soon as I heard about it being given away, I grabbed the keys to my Uhaul, and said, "let's GO......NOW!". I knew it was either a piece of trash, or a once in a lifetime giveaway! Fortunately, it was the latter!

Paula, I can totally see your feelings about "OMG, the money could have been used in so many other ways...." But I've got to say, I love that he worked the 2nd job to save for it. So it wasn't TOTALLY irresponsible. It's a luxury - a total extravagance - but he didn't take away from the day-to-day income to do it. That's pretty admirable (Hmmm... I already know from photos that he's a hottie - does he have a brother?). I think my stomach might sieze up in horror everytime I caught sight of it for the first little while, too. But I'm sure watching LIB or The Dance a few times will help. I think it's all okay - he has his weakness - you have yours. He supports you going to all the FM and SN shows, right? (Hmm, and again, I find myself wondering if he has a brother).

Actually, he has two. Not as hot as he is, though. The older bro has been in a relationship for 10 years & his younger brother is kind of seeing someone. And get this - she's CANADIAN!

Stupid Ledgie bitches being the voice of reason. Grrrrrrrrrrr!

I know, I know, you're right, I know. He just left to pick it up. I'm no longer feeling nauseous. Just annoyed. So that's an improvement.

But a 50" TV?!?! WTF? I don't get it. Yeah, yeah, HDTV, bigger & better, blah blah blah. I still don't get it. I just think it's a collosal waste of $$$ (yes, my Mac shows, don't remind me) when we could have used it for something else (investments, savings, home improvements.)

Do any of you have huge TVs? Are TV shows/video games/DVDs really that much better? Will seeing The Dance on the giant TV blow me away? How long will I continue to have this sick feeling in my stomach about paying so much for a TV (a TV, for God's sake, a friggin' TV!)
It is a total guy thing. The bigger the boy the larger the toy. I recently bought one myself. My advice is let him win on this one.
