??????? The books have a very Christian message. The whole story with the Lion sacrificing himself...then returning to life because he was innocent. At any rate, the books are EXCELLENT...i've been reading them since I was young.

I've liked The Chronicles of Narnia since I was a kid and can't wait for the movies. I'm a little weary as to how good they'll be though. Some things are ok to read, like talking animals for example, but might end up looking very comical on the big screen.

Now it has "potential...for a silly production", but when I said it did, it was assinine. Got it.

Oh my goodness some of those books for Grade 5 are insane, the kids just aren't ready for them, anything by Dickens shouldn't be attempted till HS its way to convoluted and detailed, as for some of the others they border on violence and being rather graphic or a bit to complex for kids that age, To Kill a Mocking Bird is wasted on anyone younger then about 13, Call of The Wild is a bit savage and would also be over most kids heads, although perhaps that list was 5th grade and up?
A for Chirstianity well I read the whole Narina series and missed the influence, but then again I never read the bible so perhaps thats why... So where are the Little House on the Prarie books? Glad to see "Where the Red Fern Grows" is on there... Why no Ronald Dahl...?

I love those books, which is why I don't want to see a movie version. You know, all christianity aside? I then replied: Well, that is assinine. The LOTR movies were good if not great adaptations of Tolkein's great works and pretty much all movies come from books. So, are you saying no book should ever be made into a movie? To which you then replied (comment supplied) : Yep. [presumbaly in response to the last question] Oh, and I don't like LOTR. Not that that makes it bad, of course. I don't want to see people act out those parts, and everything else. I can't envision them doing such a good job that I will like the movie. It's possible, and I hope they do, but I really doubt it. I'm so glad you included the word "assinine" in that post, too. That was extra special. _____________________________ Thus, my assinine comment was to your first statement which in no way qualified the silly production angle you later took on. |

Whatever. If you want to call me assinine, and with such little provocation, then I'll just step aside, because I don't get it or like it. ![]()
