It should be a huge hit with the fundies. Jeb Bush is seeing to that.

I'm a huge fan of Tilda Swinton, but I don't know if I'll end up seeing it.

Well, it is very religious in its underlying message, etc.

But, the books were great even without that

Josh + C.S. Lewis = non workable equation.

I just find it funny that the movie is being released by a company that donates loads to Republicans (Walden Media) and Jeb Bush is telling the children of Florida to read the book so that they can participate in the "Just Read, Florida" contest.

But, that book is on many many other lists  It is considered a modern classic children's story

C.S. Lewis is great.

You find a problem with EVERYTHING that involved Christianity don't you?

dissention 10-24-2005 02:48 PM

Oh, and the last book that "Just Read, Florida" sponsored (Carl Hiaasen's "Hoot") is also being made into a movie. By Walden Media.

I love those books, which is why I don't want to see a movie version. You know, all christianity aside?

Sadly, I have not read that one, but Carl Hiasson's other books have been slamming to the anti environmentalists - so how is that a right wing thing?

Well, that is assinine. The LOTR movies were good if not great adaptations of Tolkein's great works and pretty much all movies come from books. So, are you saying no book should ever be made into a movie.

I never said this particular thing (Hiaasen's book) was necessarily a "right-wing thing," I just find the partnership between the state of Florida and Walden Media to be interesting.
