That's because a) I'm not a mind reader and b) I'm not privy to what's going on in her family because it's really none of my business.

I do agree that Stevie has been through alot this summer and I have said from the get go of this tour that no one was seeing the real Stevie. Anyone who thinks that the Stevie who performed during the GD tour is the usual solo Stevie is sadly mistaken. Her energy, smiles, general upbeat appearance might have been genuine at times but for the most part, I thought it was an onstage persona. She was trying soo hard to convince us that everything was wonderful. As soon as the spotlight was off, her smile disappeared. Her Dad has been ill for months, even the first Vegas shows last May were difficult for her. Going on tour with her Dad home or in and out of the hospital had to extremely difficult for Stevie. To think she was genuinely happy out there when her Dad was home dying is nuts. She was a trooper this summer but if you think she was really into the tour...you are wrong. Her fans are not the main reason she stayed out there...the obligations to others are. (sponsers, promotors, investors, bandmates, crew) The appearance of her Peter Jennings letter on her site was absolutely Stevie reaching out to people for some comfort and prayers and she pretty much got ripped a new asshole for the way she worded her letter. The loving gesture of the letter was completely overlooked. No one really read between the lines and thought about why she was suddenly sharing this letter and talking about her Dad. The same sort of thing happened with the cancelled gig. She took alot of heat, on the board and elsewhere for pulling out but no one knows the real reason why. Perhaps her reason was valid? It seems that Stevie is constantly either not living up to her fans expectations or getting criticized. I just do not get that.

Flame away.....
Thank you so much. This is exactly what I've been trying to

say. I'm sorry if I've been irritable about it at times but it's been hard to

see people bashing her at this time. There have been many people

in various places who I've seen bashing her, basically saying in between

their lines, "AWWWW pooor BA-by, is life getting a little ROUGH for

the Gold Dust Woman!?" and that's been hard to sit by idly and take.

It's been the lack of thoughtfulness and consideration for Stevie's feelings

and what she's going through that's been so bothersome to people -

more people than some seem to realize. It was just SO SO bothersome

when, a very short time after Stevie and her Dad raised 15 million dollars

for the Heart Institute, and a short time after Mr. Nicks - Stevie's hero

and inspiration and her DAD, for crying out loud - died - people were

coming in to the chat room and badmouthing her for skipping out on a

benefit which other stars had already pulled out of because it was

rumored to be very badly organized. They were saying things like,

"I don't CARE about that, I have two nine year old girls who are CRYING!

He died three WEEKS ago, get OVER it already!"

I just couldn't believe that.

Without being too grim, I want to try to state this as clearly as possible -

there has been concern that Stevie might not survive this.

She's VERY tired. Let's not take her for granted, she is NOT obligaged

to do this and let's try and encourage her for whatever she's able

to do at this time and support her in whatever decisions she ultimately

makes. And that's all that I've been trying to say. Thank you again

for your kind and understanding words.

I hope you don't mean to imply that if Stevie should drop dead suddenly of grief or exhaustion it would be because her fans didn't support her enough. That's f'ing insane.

Nooooo, of course not.

But shouldn't her fans be supporting her now?

Of all times?

you really should get over yourself...i dont appreciate you speaking of stevie's feelings as if they are your own. and for you to speak of what others are feeling about stevies absense or lack of participation is preposterous...who are you to speak of her fans and clump then into your one-sided generalizations? imo youve taken your assumptions and interpretations too far.

I honestly didn't mean to "clump together" anybody.

I was speaking specifically about, for example, people who were

coming in to the chat room and basically calling Stevie a

"Selfish, thoughtless bitch" three weeks after her Dad died,

and being completely self-centered about the concert. The concert

itself was supposed to be for Hurricane survivors, and all these people -

and there were MANY of them - cared about was their own

entertainment. So I apologize if I phrased it the wrong way or

generalized, but please see what I posted above about what some

people have been calling Stevie, at this time and how I just simply

feel we should bear in mind what she's been going through lately.

And please see what Kelly wrote, I feel that that was exactly

100% dead-on.

I recall there being quite a few posts commenting on how sweet the letter was, including my own.

I think that even those who found the letter itself odd commented on what a nice gesture it was and how her heart was in the right place.
