I figured as much too. I may have to get a cheap seat, we'll see. It's an excellent cause though so it will make it easier for me to drop a wad of cash.

There are literally hundreds of hotels within a 15 block radius of MSG. I would do a travelocity search and see what comes up. The only thing is all of the hotels in the Times Sq. area are usually very very crowded as is Times Sq. So, I tend to want to avoid that. But, to each their own and if you get a great deal in one of those, take it as you are not going to be in the room that much.

I soo want to go, but the chances are slim right now Maybe that will change

Haha! I know, it's just impossible! I need more than two weeks notice to move my schedule around... and there's the money thing... I don't have very much!

I hope Rod Stewart does "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and Stevie joins him on stage for a duet. I'm sure it would really life people's spirits

Ya I would love to go, but I couldn't get time off right now ,because it's our start of the busy season. If the show was on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, I would had no problem.I will reverberate everybody on here saying hopefully the show will be on tv. VH1, MTV or USA channels probably show it.I dout it The big 4 Networks will air it, because it will interfere with the new fall season starting lineup.also for a two to three hour broadcast.we will be lucky to get about 4 song set from Stevie, thats asking for to much.

I agree. We won't probably get to see everything from the show if aired on tv.
Maybe some enterprising fan will sneak some video clips of Stevie's short set?
Hint, Hint.

I will give you a call this weekend. Tickets go onsale Tuesday morning. I will snag a pair but we need to discuss seating. I want to have a decent, elevated seat. (not too expensive, of course...I am still saving for next summer. : > )

Kelly, where are you finding the info for ticket sales? I checked MSG's page and ticketmaster and I can't find anything?

Rod Stewart, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Jimmy Buffett, Lenny Kravitz, Bette Midler, John Fogerty, Loggins and Messina, and Earth, Wind and Fire are set to perform a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina relief at New York's Madison Square Garden on September 20th.
The show, dubbed From the Big Apple to the Big Easy, will also feature New Orleans talent the Neville Brothers, Fats Domino, Allen Toussaint, the Meters, Rebirth Brass Band and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

The concert is in addition to a number of other upcoming events to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina, the largest of which is ReAct Now: Music and Relief, airing on MTV, VH1 and CMT this Saturday. To be staged simultaneously in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and Atlanta, ReAct features a massive roster of artists, including the Rolling Stones, Kanye West, Sheryl Crow, Neil Young, John Mayer, Kelly Clarkson, Melissa Etheridge, Paul McCartney, Motley Crue, Maroon 5, Simple Plan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Staind, Trent Reznor, the Neville Brothers, Green Day, Usher, Dave Matthews Band, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Rob Thomas and John Mellencamp. Viewers will be encouraged to phone in donations to the Red Cross.

The Garden is both underwriting From the Big Apple and donating an additional $1 million to the cause. Tickets go on sale September 13th. All proceeds will go to relief efforts.

The Red Cross is currently accepting donations for hurricane relief at their Web site, redcross.org.
