This is my least favorite song on RAL... i enjoyed it when she performed it live, but on the album, it just doesn't do anything for me.. perhaps it was the poor engineering that turned me off to it

I agree, with the single part, and well, I guess I agree about the lyrics too.

Overall, this is one of the highlights of RAL for me....but I really do love the entire album. The part that always gets me is:

If you tell me one more time, "baby take it easy"
Well you won't see me ever again!

I have always believed this was a reference to someone...maybe Jimmy...maybe Lindsey....hell, maybe even Joe Walsh, telling her to lighten up a bit on the coke, and general excesses of her lifestyle.

Lyrically it's very good. I like it. Sadly, I don't listen to it that much, because my RAL is on albumwrap, and to listen to it means I have to listen to The Nightmare first. And if I were you. IIWY isn't that bad, but...anywhoo....I should listen to it more than I do, is my point.

Ya know. I never listen to it much, either. It's like you know it's a great song, but you never get it to....It's a hidden gem that, like Paula said, should have been on Enchanted.....replacing Desert Angel.

I only know the Red Rocks version, but the chorus is only one note. Well, technically three, but essentially one. Only three words sung on a note other than that one("what was it"). Very boring song to me.

That's my take on it... Not one of my favorites on this album. I like the pop numbers better (IH, ISFTT, SH, IIWY), but this song is allllllllll Stevie. The placement on the album is perfect.

This is interesting. Indeed, and I never considered this perspective before. The perception I have had of this song for nearly 20 years just flashed away in an instant.

The only part I can't bring myself to consider is the part about her and Kim.....doing it. I don't ever want to believe that Stevie actually would...'bump uglies'...with that man - because of the fact that he was Robin's husband. It just seems like it would be too far off from her intentions for the marriage in the first place.

Maybe his demands for sex were the downfall of their marriage?

i worship this song, as i posted when i first joined the ledge, back in '86 i saw stevie during her rock-a-little tour & had brought her a shawl, a beautiful light, light pink shawl~ well during a clothing change, she walked right by where i was standing in the front row (she was changing right off of the stage like she did during the SYW tour), any ways she looked down & i was able to give her the shawl~ & after the clothing change, she came out to sing "no spoken word", & she was wearing my shawl , it was 1 of the best stevie moments of my life, i swear i was weak in the knees & felt i was gonna passed out~ i will never forget it!!!~
