Sorry, I agree with Strand-people are forever bitching. Why focus on the negative when you dont have to,
When I go see Stevie/Mac in concert, the thrill of them walking onstage does me in. They dont have to be perfect, I am just glad we are all sharing those moments together. I dont expect her or the Mac to be like the first time I saw them In December of 1979. I am there because I have a history of loving them and their music. Joseph |
As much as I love the song, Stevie has done it so much that it's worn out. As big a fan as Stevie says she is of Tom Petty, it's weird that she has covered so few songs of his live. There are dozens of classic Petty songs that would make (or would have made) excellent Stevie Nicks material to perform. I've always wanted to hear her play "What Are You Doing in My Life," but she never did that one, despite the fact that she must certainly know it.
I would tend to agree, but I think this might fall more into the "careful what you wish for" category. INTK is a kick-ass, rocking, upbeat song, and Stevie doesn't do NEARLY ENOUGH of these in concert. If she were to replace it with, say, an "Angel" or "Nothing Ever Changes" type song, then great. But if it just gets replaced with yet ANOTHER s-s-l-l-o-o-w-w ballad, a la "Landslide" or "HAEWAFY", then forget it! 'Cause then butts instantly hit the seats and everybody starts yelling at me to sit down, and I hate that. Oh-and "What Are You Doing in My Life" would be an EXCELLENT choice for a live TP cover. Hell, at this point I'd settle for "Free Fallin'". I really love her version of that one. "Apartment Song" could do well also.

I love this song and Stevie always gets into it...I do prefer it earlier in the set, though, as opposed to the encore it has become over the last several years.
