Ooh, it was. Especially High On Sunday 51, The Moth, and Pavlov's Bell.

They're going to post the entire new album throughout March on her site; three songs each week.

I have a boot of the Armani Benefit they did together and Clapton plays Run Baby Run during the sound check. It's a nice little homage.
They do Tearing Us Apart during the show and Sheryl just wails on that song. They were good together, musically at least.

Have you heard White Room from the Live in Central Park CD? That's a good one. My Favorite Mistake is supposedly about him.

White Room from Central Park is a fave. It's a really good performance and Sheryl adds to it nicely, IMO.
I have also heard that My Favorite Mistake is about him, as is much of The Globe Sessions.

I can see that. That album is one of my favorites, it's great. Member's Only, It Don't Hurt, Riverwide, Mississippi, etc. Globe Sessions and her self-titled one from '96 (that one especially) are practically perfect albums.

I have to agree with you. It's not that I didn't like C'mon C'mon. It's just that in my mind for some reason that record has an odd juxtaposition in the world post 9/11. Weird, I know. I think most of the feel good songs were recorded pre 9/11. Safe And Sound is a favorite though and her performance of it on the telethon was beautiful.
It will be interesting to see what Sheryls' relationship with Lance brings to the table.

I never thought of that album in quite that way, actually, but I think you're right. For me, though, while I still like it, it's missing a lot of magic and it's way too poppy and fluffy for me. The self-titled one and The Globe Sessions were very dark albums, and C'mon C'mon is just pop with no real message or point. It doesn't really have any tracks like Redemption Day or Member's Only or Hard To Make A Stand, which I think is unfortunate. She used to comment on and observe society in her songs and C'mon C'mon has none of that. Safe and Sound, however, blew my mind the first time I heard it and it still does. Her voice cuts through you on that sucker and the simplistic lyrics say it all.

I just pray that her new album isn't chock full of saccharine lovey-dovey material like her Don Henley duet on C'mon C'mon. Or I will positively die.

It's almost like the timing of the records was backwards.

That one is supposedly about one of her ex boyfriends who committed suicide. "I don't blame you for quitting, I know you really tried..." and "There's beauty in release, there's no one left to please..."
are really simple and poignant, IMO.

Awful, just awful. I can't even remember the lyrics but the melody reminds me of that thing he did with Patty Smythe back when.

Sometimes Love Just Aint Enough - ugh. I agree with the assessments of C'mon C'mon. It's my least played Sheryl album, and with the exception of Safe & Sound and Weather Channel, very forgettable in comparison with her other work.

I also was a bit disappointed in C'mon C'mon but the London version with two extra tracks made the difference. Missing is probably my favorite Sheryl song and I Want You is fairly close to the top. Combine that with Diamon Road, her version of It's Only Love, Safe and Sound and you've got a great album. I typically do skip the first three tracks and Lucky Kid, but otherwise it's pretty good.

To get back on track: Any tour that occurs with or without Don Henley would be aces in my book. I would rather Stevie tour while she's still got the drive and record later on when she doesn't feel like touring.

I read on another site she's booked at a Pittsburgh Amphitheatre for a show... at the Chevrolet Amphitheatre. No date was given and the poster wasn't sure if it was a solo show or with Don. I think it would be a solo show as the max capacity is about 5,100 people:

Chevrolet Amphitheatre

Here name appears on a list of possible summer tours on the front page of the site.

Her version of It's Only Love cracks my heart open and smashes it. The strings are beautiful.
Also, the B side Chances Are is spectacular. That should be in the place of that hideous Don Henley duet - which I have listened to a total of once. It is an atrocity in an otherwise stellar catalogue.

I'm really hoping she doesn't play Chevy Amphitheatre. I've seen several shows there, and its all standing-only general admission. I would normally stand at a show if I had pavillion seats, but I can't stand being cramped in there with people pushing, shoving and breathing down your neck.

Please Stevie. Don't settle for places like this!

Wow, gen admission? That's exactly the kind of place I'd love for her to play. No stressing over getting good seats, nobody yelling at you to sit down...
