Why wouldn't someone want to see her in concert? Saying she's amazing live is an understatement. She's got the hardest working pair of legs in showbusiness. If she were ever to go back on tour, I'd sell everything I own to see her. She's that good.

I like when it morphs into the music from a spaghetti western, personally. Cracks me up.

well, it just never dawned on me before to actually see her myself.
And then, even though i've seen lots of clips of her before, and always knew she kicked ass, I just now thought about how fun it would be to see her live.
I wouldn't sell everything i had, but i'd try to get there...

Her energy is blinding. I was her twice on her farewell tour, when she was over 60, and she bowled me over.

Once I start listening to that song, I can't stop. Any version does it for me. Same with In the Sun and Attack of the Giant Ants. I could listen to those all day long.

They're from the first album. I bought the remaster last night (my old non-remaster is horrid quality), too, after my disastrous date and listened to it before I went to bed. Attack of the Giant Ants is worth the $12 alone.

Sweeet.
Sorry about your date. oh well.
The title "Attack of the Giant Ants" is actually worth $12 alone...
*sigh* I wish every band had blondie's band...
Is there any Blondie album i could get that's not good? I wouldn't think so...

I don't think so.

Though "The Hunter" is an acquired taste. It's pretty weird, even by Blondie standards. But it's worth getting for Dragonfly, a epic-length song about a spaceship race in outer space.

As for my date, eh...she was a total asswipe. Not the kind of person I enjoyed being around.

How is the Hunter different that makes it an acquired taste? Is there a bunch of slow songs or something?
How was she an asswipe?

The Hunter is just...very out there. If you heard The Beast or Dragonfly, you'd know what I mean. Not many slow songs, no. It's a lot darker than the other albums (though not as dark as No Exit), like War Child, for example. You just don't expect Debbie Harry to haul out and write a song about children suffering and being tortured in the Middle East. It's one of my personal favorite albums, though.

Ugh, a total asshole. We went to eat at the restaurant she chose and she was incredibly rude to the waitress. Went so far as to tell her that she didn't have all night to wait around for her food and that her tip would be jeopardized.

Then she wanted to go to a music store and shop aorund for awhile, so we did. She picked apart everything I bought or even picked up. Told me that Blondie sucked and that Debs was a "bloated wreck," that Franz Ferdinand annoyed her, that Nina Simone sounds like "nails on a chalkboard," and that David Bowie is a "closeted queen." And then she bought Michael Jackson's Number Ones. Regardless of her behavior at the restaurant, I could never date anyone with such poor taste in music.

So, the music is just as good on the Hunter, and fast, but it's kinda dark...
Wow, she really was an a**hole! I thought you were exaggerating. I can't believe she said that about Nina and Blondie! And the waitress?! OMigaw! How'd you pick that one? I can usually tell if i do or don't like someone fairly quickly when i'm face to face with them. I guess people can trick you a little, though...I would've been sooooo embarrassed if someone i was with said that to the waitress. Unless, maybe, if the waitress was really insufferable, rude, slow, rude, and all that. Geesh.

Beats me how I picked her, my asshole detector must have been shorting out.

There is nothing tackier than threatening to withhold tips. I wanted to leave right then and there. And I didn't even really eat the food because I was afraid the waitress spit in it or coughed up a phlegmglobber.

My big problem with her at the music store was how loud and obnoxious she was. If you don't like a band or a particular artist, go ahead and say so. But don't scream across the store at the top of your lungs "DEBORAH HARRY IS A BLOATED WRECK!" I mean, where did she learn how to act in public? I felt like telling her that I wasn't ready to have kids yet and I didn't want practice raising one by taking her out. I had my Franz CD playing in the car when I drove her home just to piss her off, too. At least I had something fabulous to listen to, as opposed to her obnoxious mouth.
