Default 2005 Grammy nominations

http://www.grammy.com/news/academy/2004/1207noms.aspx

Congrats to Velvet Revolver - but why are they in the same category as Hoobastank?? I haven't even checked out the other stuff yet, just saw this on the VR board....

As always, the nominations SUCK.

Quote:
Nominees for Record Of The Year include "Let's Get It Started" (the Black Eyed Peas), "Here We Go Again" (Ray Charles & Norah Jones), "American Idiot" (Green Day), "Heaven" (Los Lonely Boys), and "Yeah!" (Usher).
That's the worst list of nominees I have ever seen!

Angry What a joke...

the GrUmmies are using Ray Charles as this years sympathy vote!!! Why did they NOT honor the man while he was still alive? Oh wait, These are the same stupid ____ that once had Metallica & Jethro Tull in the same catergory!!!

I will miss this ****-fest like an Oklahoma University Barry Switzer asskissing pep-rally!!!

WTF? In the late 80's & early 90's I used to be pissed off that The Grammys never nominated bands that were popular, just older boring stuff. Now they've gone completely the other way & nominated most everyone just because they've been popular this past year? Cuz it's the trendy thing to do?

Well, I will say that I think Velvet Revolver, Black Eyed Peas, Loretta Lynn & Usher deserve their nominations - I may not like all of there material, but they are talented. Gretchen Wilson? I mean, I like, her, she's OK, but a GRAMMY? And I do not get the whole Kanye West thing, he's pretty boring, IMO.

Los Lonely Boys win for Heaven.

I can't stand sll the people who complain about Jethro Tull winning that grammy. Jethro Tull is just as rocking as Metalica, so what if Ian Anderson plays the flute. The flute can be very rock and roll. The biggest grammy diasasters were 1997 Silver Springs and The Dance loosing, and 2004 not even being nominated once for SYW.
