Of course, you don't have to tell me, I was just really curious...

one is that you do not have to worry about over-priced housing such as on the West/East Coasts...Geez, I have never seen rent over $700 a month here for an luxury apartment.

Another reason is that I like living here (I am allowed to rip on Oklahoma since I was born/raised here, Just as I am allowed by Oklahoma tradition/law to rip on Texas as much as humanly allowed!!!), Oklahomans are the most layed back people there are in the U.S., not as bad as most places (Though Tulsa has WAY too many religious zealots for my taste) and even the NYFD members who helped out during the Murrah bombing stated they never know Oklahoma was as great a place as it is (Sadly several of those firefighters perished on 9/11...Including Father Judge). We all DO NOT LIVE in FORTS to protect us from injuns or not have running water/electric like some East Coast asses have assumed! Besides those East Coast wusses couldnt make it through a typical summer's day here (100-110 degrees with 40-70% humidity) or the typical winter's night (10-20 degrees with 30MPH winds and a sub-zero windchill...Don't need a foot of snow when your freezin' yer ass off!!!)

I could easily have moved to the San Jose and or Bakersfield area of Ca-Li-For-Nia where my Mother's first cousin (And assorted relatives) resides and work for her at her place of employment (She works for a Defense Contractor) but why bother? I like the easy life in Oklahoma, The solitude of living in a small (Suckass) town but also having a large city (OKC) just an hour away...Besides, It's great to be able to go outside at night and watch the stars, Which ya cant do in more crowded states, So why move???

Aaaaah - that makes sense. There are nice places in Cali, by the way, i grew up in one. They are called "the foothills" But Oklahoma sounds nice. I am used to summers that hot, but not with the humidity (bleah!) But, yeah, my rent is $650/mo. for a one bedroom,(utilities included) about 20 blocks from Berkeley campus, and right on a main road (although mine is in back, with a courtyard, not on a road) But then again, people get paid more here, too.
I'm very glad that you actually like it. I thought maybe you didn't. But that's an awful lot of religious and republican for me. But, the town I grew up in in Cali is like that, too, so who's to say???

(Though I have before) Oklahoma is 60-something percent registered Democrat! A great majority of the registered Demos are above the age 55 and are worried more about their precious Social Security than ANY other political issue in the US.

Also a great majority of Oklahoma Democrats are Con-Serv-A-Tives...They're pro-Shrub (Who according to the Oklahoma polls last night has a wide 63% to 30% lead over Kerry), pro-life, pro-military, pro-religion (Big effin deal), ANTI-liberal (If you're a liberal in this state...I have a word of advice, "Good luck & watch your back"), anti-gay marriage (The Governor of Oklahoma is proof enough theyre against gay marriages/civil unions), anti-Kerry (Think about it...He finished a very distant third to Clark & Edwards in the Oklahoma primary, Hell Howard "the Scream King" Dean almost beat him!).

I am an Oklahoma girl and it is a great place to live. I am from Shawnee which is about 30 miles east of Oklahoma City. Small town where everyone knows and cares about each other. I miss that small town feeling where 15 people will show up to help you move. My family still lives in Shawnee and I will move back on of these days. It's true ~ there's not alot of opportunity career wise. If you make 10 dollars an hour you better keep that job but it's a family oriented place and I have never met nicer people in any other state. When I moved to Dallas my brother was ridding in the car with me and he kept telling me "Quite waving at everyone!" I didn't even realize that I was. I told him you can take the girl out of Oklahoma but you can't take Oklahoma out of the girl! Go Sooners!!!

Ah, yes, "Old Timey" Democrats. I often trip out on that breed, and I know they're in preponderance in the midwest, some of the south(?). Check out this tripped out thing - My town had TONS of Mormons. One of my best friends in highschool was mormon. And they even had this weird, country cul-de-sac sort of thing, the street was called "Mormon Island" It wasn't right in Placerville, it was more towards Sacramento in the El Dorado Hills (lots of new development there) but still, it was a trip! AAAAAAAhhhhh, Mormons!

Oh yes It was pleasant!!!! Though it may sounds selfish, I was after Francis and just before Jeanne. So I was lucky. But I was worry about my friends and relatives anyway. They are ok, fortunately

That's great, i would've never guessed that - what with the flatness and all. Shawnee sounds like a nice town!
