hey everyone -- this am todd stephens, writer/director of the film GYPSY 83.

someone emailed me and said i should check out this discussion -- and all i can say is WOW! i am touched and honoured that you are discussing my film -- it makes me very happy! the truth is, it was a message board like this one that inspired the film in the first place.

i have read through everyone's posts and enjoyed them all. i'd be delighted to answer anyone's questions directly about all things GYPSY 83 if you would like to post them here. i will check back and respond the best (and truthfully!) that i can.

WOW! I'm honored to be the first to say "Welcome to the Ledge....Todd!"

My first question - how many cities does "limited release" include? Is Austin one of those cities? I do recall it being here for a film festival, but had I known then that it would "disappear" for all this time, I definitely would have gone to see it!

And why hasn't it been released on video and/or DVD yet?? Haven't you figured out by now how many of us rabid fans would buy it? LOL

So, I think the question of the day - or the central question here is why weren't you able to use Stevie's songs ? Are we even close in our ideas about the subject ?

hmmm...how do i prove that i am "really me"? lol

here's one idea -- if joe or someone wants to email me a coded question though our website (gypsy83.com) i can answer it here on the board -- that way you'll know i am the real deal does that make sense? just go to the site, and hit "contact us" and i'll get it.

also, i will post a photo here now that has never been seen anywhere.

i am a computer dunce -- can someone tell me how to respond to specific comments? (the way it's bolded at the top?)

Well, I guess the most obvious question is did Stevie know about the film?

Were her songs too expensive too include in the production or did she or her management company refuse to allow them in the move?

If refused, why so?

Nothing like jumping right on in!!!

P.S. I saw the movie and it was good!!!!!!!!! Kudos to you!!!!
