I am intrigued by this Bob Brunning story about the 1977 People magazine cover. If Lindsey ended up with "panda eyes," that means he got those wide dark circles under his eyes, didn’t he? I don't see that at all in the photo (I guess Bob meant this cover). Ok, if so it’s highly obvious that he had makeup done at the photo shoot; so, how did Bob know the story? Did Lindsey tell it in an interview? Or did Bob maintain close contact with the band during those hectic busy days, close enough to know these stories? That seems hard to believe.
Things didn’t go entirely smoothly however. The first fifteen dates of the 1977 tour had to be cancelled due to Stevie Nicks’ throat problems. Additionally, Lindsey needed to have his wisdom teeth extracted, leaving him with two beautiful black eyes. Just in time for the band’s photo session for the cover of People magazine. “Panda” imitations apart, Lindsey and the rest of the band waited until Stevie was quite well, and they started their marathon tour.

A fan FB page posted Tusk pictures today. I hadn't seen this one before. With that hair and clothes, was Mick trying to look like Jesus Christ Superstar?

I think the Facebook algorithm has deduced that I like John's peculiar gestures.
![]() This time it seems Lindsey and Christine are sharing his "what the hell I'm doing here" feeling. ![]() ![]()

From search: In early 1980, Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac was photographed wearing a plaster cast on her left arm during the Japanese leg of the band's massive Tusk world tour. The injury happened while she was visiting the mountains in Big Bear, California, where her arm was "broken clear across". Despite the severe fracture, McVie famously refused to cancel any shows, showcasing her incredible dedication to the band. When asked by Teen Bag magazine in 1980 if the cast would limit her ability to play her keyboards live, she replied: "I can play for about 15 minutes... Then I'll keep on playing with my right [hand]." During the tour stops in February 1980, she could be seen on stage and backstage maneuvering around her grand piano and keyboards with her left arm sheathed in a heavy white cast. |

John looks like he's leaning up on one cheek, trying to sneak one out.

I would love to see her play Songbird with one hand. The web could be wrong but it lists it in the setlist in early 1980.
