Default Lindsey Says He and Stevie Are Talking All The Time

Just read an interview with Lindsey from Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event. (Apparently he was a presenter) The article has him saying he and Stevie have healed their years long rift and talk all the time. He credits their working closely on the upcoming documentary as being the spark that initiated the process. He teased that next year could be a "pretty interesting year" and that "quite a few things will reveal themselves". (Probably just another repackage of Rumours for the 5oth anniversary ) Oh and he did find time to make the inevitable "circular" reference.

Do these senior citizens know they're already living on borrowed time?

This reminds me when I was watching TV and learned of the upcoming Dance tour. Stevie was talking on Entertainment Tonight saying she was no longer mad at anyone in the band. It was shocking about the reunion but after she was so angry at Mick she swore she would never be on a stage again with him. Stevie also said the same thing about Lindsey.
Stevie can make more money on her solo tours. So she would do this for legacy or to bail Mick out again. But to me its silly because how many times can she swear to never be on a stage with these members and then suddenly go right back. As sick and crazy as this sounds it probably will be easier for Stevie this time. She was so jealous that the band went on and recorded an album without her. Chris is gone so she no longer has that jealously in her head.

It’s amazing how a relevant modern band having a hit with one of your songs while you’re lucky to be on the state fair circuit heals all wounds.

I don't get why she would be jealous when it was HER choice to not participate. How can she be pissed that they still went ahead with an album? and why be jealous of chris, her best friend in the world?? it seems so childish.

Honestly I'd still be shocked if they actually got together and did anything. but i guess you never know.

Because SHE is the star of FM. In her own head,..... and..... let's face it, to 90% of the world.

Have I mentioned that I'd run over her with mah truck?

(When people refer to her as the lead singer, I literally want to strangle them)

She was jealous because for the first time ever the band did not wait for her or cancel their plans. They did not call it Fleetwood Mac which was a joke. They hoped not to poke the bear. However even that could not stop the bear because she was going to make the band breach of contract. Its him or me.
You think the Buck/McVie project had no impact on her? Had they not done anything and let her finish her 24K Gold tour I bet she would not have been so angry.

Yeah, I suppose so.

It's ridiculous that they didn't call that album fleetwood mac, and that john and mick had to sit out that tour, all to keep her happy. And then all this criticism of J&C for not leaving/threatening to leave when Lindsey was gonna get the boot. As if they weren't upset about it? of course they were, they knew it was unfair, but AGAIN they found themselves in the middle of yet another issue which they didn't cause, and didn't like, but couldn't fix. I don't blame them for choosing themselves, and what THEY wanted to do, which was f*cking tour without all the tension and drama. all that crap must have been so tedious by then.

I admit I was one of them, when I first read the new. Actually not just with J&C, I was angry with the whole band, including Lindsey. I didn't know what to think. It was like... Fired??? Lindsey what did you do? Stevie, another tantrum? Mick, WTF??? etc... But then more details came over time. Though I still think we don't know the complete story. Anyway when I knew they would tour with another two guys, grrr!!! Honestly, I wish J&C had told them to go to hell. In my opinion, the era of lineup changes was already over. If I didn't agree with bringing in Sheryl Crow when Christine left, I certainly didn't want them to include Mike and Neil in 2018. But well, that’s what they decided. It’s not that I condemned J&C, but I was a bit disappointed. Anyway, life is never quite what you want it to be.

In the meantime, I just watched a british doc, at my friend's home in Texas (I realized it is not including en Prime Video @Peru so I decided to watch). The Story of Fleetwood Mac. It is dated 2013 but it ends after Tango just mentioning Rick & Billy replaced Lindsey on the tour. Nothing new, the same (very summmarizrd) story + some entire videos (Albatross, Everywhere, Gypsy, YMLF live) to complete the 50 minutes. Meh.

Among those comments about Stevie and the band, Lindsey has talked very enthusiastically about the doc set to release in 2027. After having seen several (to say the least) documentaries and specials, it seems unlikely to me that this will contain interesting-new material, beyond a few previously unreleased clips or videos. Even so, it’s a nice touch and will generally be well-received, given that it coincides with the 50th anniversary of *Rumours*—which makes me think the focus will once again be on that album. I imagine die-hard fans have likely seen almost everything already. I hope I’m wrong.

Maybe they DID tell them to go to hell, but still wanted to stay there and tour regardless. i mean if they'd both said, 'screw this' and the whole tour just fell apart because stevie left when they wouldn't go along w the new plan, would we be any happier? they shouldn't have been put in a spot where they had to choose between L or S, but i'm glad in the end they kind of chose themselves... at least that's how i see it.

I'm living for the new unseen pics that john gave them for the documentary. remember how in his Q&A he said he miiiiiiight possibly think of doing a book w all his photos-- that obviously never happened which sucks, but is not surprising-- but i'll happily take whatever he gave.

Oh I totally believe John or Chris could have stopped it. But that would mean Stevie would leave the band and hurt the tour financially. I am sure they did not object because Mick was no way going to risk the tour. But it could have been stopped easy. The band was passive resisters and figured they would make as much money as possible for their last tour.

They did object. but obviously they didn't object enough to leave the tour or do something that would make stevie leave, either, because again, why shoot themselves in the foot for a problem someone else was causing? and I bet if they HAD caused stevie to leave, they'd be blamed for that, too. They were not in a good position. it must have been irritating to know the princess held all the power.

Plus, think of all the craziness those three survived together for over 50 years. Peter Green losing his mind, Jeremy Spencer disappearing, Danny Kirwan’s declining mental health, the revolving door of musicians, the fake Fleetwood Mac, Bob Welch saving the day and then walking away, a chance encounter at a supermarket that led to Mick checking out Sound City, becoming ungodly successful…

There was no way in Hell they were going out as anything other than an arena band.

It also reveals that Stevie was not friends with these people. Friends calm people down or try to talk sense to them. Imagine Chris saying "Stevie, I did not come back to the band for this nonsense. Its our last tour and lets get going. You don't have to see him except on stage." I know Chris would never say anything like that but just imagine. It reveals that Chris too walked on eggshells about Stevie. Fleetwood Mac apparently is a business more than a band.
Stevie supposedly bought all the Fleetwood Mac albums and listened to them "back to front" yet she revealed that she had no idea that Fleetwood Mac had a song Black Magic Woman. Apparently she skipped the early albums.

Younger Chris would have told Stevie to stop it and suck it up. I think she felt a loss of power after being gone for so long. Stevie was the boss no matter what she told the press.
