Yes it was, but I understand jbrownsjr. When one is very young, many movies impress us and we like them a lot. It happened to me with Roller Boogie, other musical movies, some disaster films, even their sequels that usually are worse than the original. And sometimes we enjoyed them a lot but just for the songs.

I didn't see Sgt. Pepper in the cinema, but I've read it was very bad, I watched on tv but didn't finish it. . I see in IMDB is 4.3

However I still enjoy Thank God It's Friday, no like in the past but still a bit fun. Shame on me? Well at least is 5.5 in IMDB.

It didn’t, but I remember watching a young Peter Frampton with much interest. In the 70s, he could pick his nose and I’d watch.

Great film for the kids. We loved it.

He was my first rock concert. My hippie aunt took me. I think I was in 7th grade? I still have the stub. $6!

He was MY first concert! Boston Garden. Ticket was like 13.00. I still have it in an old scrapbook where I kept all my ticket stubs. I think I was about 12 or 13.

My friend and I went and managed to get all mixed up on the way out and exited some random door that took us out into an alleyway.... that just happened to be where Peter's limo was, and a small group of fans who unlike us had deliberately waited there. When he came out it was nuts and people pressed their faces to the windows and some jumped on the hood. GREAT first rock concert experience!

For several years, I didn't hear anything from them, except for one or two singles, nothing relevant in Peru. The antibodies were still present on the radio.

But when I saw the One Night Only concert video, it was extraordinary. I thought, oh that will always be a great band.
Part of that was deliberate; they pulled back from writing and recording their own albums after all the over hype and blowback of the late 70s and focused their creativity instead on writing and producing others. I think by the time people had gotten over being sick of them the music world had changed, the 80s brought new wave and punk and MTV and all that and new, younger bands. They had kind of aged out by then. Though, that's funny to say now when the Stones are still out there in their 80s and even Stevie at 77

Overexposure IS a thing.

See-
Bee Gees
Hootie and the Blowfish
Billy Ray Cyrus

You're thrilled to be on top, but you're so popular, they run you into the ground until people are sick of you.

Pedro Pascal is finding this out now. The backlash is growing louder. I don't mind him myself, but I get it.

Previously it was Adam Driver who was EVERYWHERE. His team smartly pulled him way back and he didn't do anything for a couple years. Still don't see that much of him.

Another one ws Jennifer Lawrence; she stepped away and started a family and is only starting to resurface.

I was sick of Billy Ray Cyrus the minute he showed up.

And his talent doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the Bee Gees.

George Harrison commented on the Sgt Pepper's film claiming the movie was so bad it damaged the Bee Gee's and Frampton's career.
I remember watching it as a kid on HBO. The soundtrack was supposed to be HUGE. I think they were hoping for another Saturday Night Fever sort of thing.
Shhhhh. Don't tell Steve but the movie and soundtrack flopped and careers were damaged

Anyone remember Can't Stop The Music movie? The Village People were cast when they were big stars but the movie kept getting delayed. It was supposed to be out in December 1978 and it was called Discoland. But it got delayed and rewritten and by the time it came out in 1980 Disco was dead. Here is the funny part. Everyone knew the Village People were gay but they were not allow to be gay in the movie so they were surrounded by women. Steve Guttenberg's big movie break. Also Bruce Jenner (now Caityln Jenner) was in the movie.

Anyone remember this?

It's funny. At 13-14 I was pretty mature and went anywhere I wanted. Glad you got to experience that too!

Oh I remember that movie, milkshake included. By that time I didn't realize they had replaced Victor Willis, the original lead singer.

Yes but sometimes they take a remedy to mitigate the saturation risk. They reinvent, dare to be different.

I know about a group who wasn't so overexposed as Bee Gees, but just in case they took a wonderful remedy against the saturation called Tusk.
