I'm curious about Christine's potential involvement in Stevie's upcoming album. There has been no confirmation from the band members that Christine actually travelled to Nashville or attended Stevie's recording sessions, but if she was there at that time, then it would be reasonable to conclude that she at least visited Stevie.
What I'm wondering is whether Stevie decided out of the blue that Christine had to be present on one (or more) of the "vault" songs and urged her to attend with little notice. If, for example, Stevie was considering the likes of "China Doll", "Forsaken Love" or "Forest Of The Black Roses", these could all easily lend themselves to arrangements based around a conspicuous piano and naturally, Christine might come to mind. (I realise many of the early demos were piano/vocals only, but if Stevie and Dave were keen on retaining the integrity of the original recordings, then I would imagine piano would have to figure prominently in songs such as these.) PS If "Forest Of The Black Roses" was to be recorded, a full orchestration (in the style of "Beauty And The Beast") would be most appropriate in my opinion. It could be "something exquisite"... |
