With SYW...again I think they got put into a corner. The majority of the album was done by the time Stevie came in and then they were under the gun to finish all of her songs and have her add backing vocals on lindsey's most likely within a certain time frame. Not a lot of room for mistakes or figuring things out. Which is why most likely Stevie was not happy with her songs on SYW, but they were released anyways. It was too late for Stevie to put her foot down or re-do anything.
If Stevie were wise I think she should of worked with Lindsey ahead of time much the way Chris is. Get Chris up the speed but also get the ball rolling with Stevie and at least get the beginnings of one or two of her songs rolling. In general, I just don't think bringing Stevie into a mac record in the 11th hour hasn't and doesn't really work as well as they think it does. It appears that it backfires more than anything. That's just my two cents though, heck I'm not in the studio with them. Only going on what we've heard and seen.

I love Stevie but who cares what she thinks about Tango in the Night. They wanted her to be part of the process and there was always a problem and it wasn't all due to her drug addiction. She only spent two weeks in the studio. And then when she when she heard the final result, she acted like a spoiled brat. Even Chris yelled at her. She got a big head and I think she realizes now that she really lost out on something. Tango in the Night is one of the best album from the 1980s and she is the weak link on the album and it is her own fault.
