Thanks for the info. I really don't know much from her later albums, after her early 80's hits. I saw a clip of her accepting an award in 2012 and she was so sweet and humble. They played a bit of a video where she was singing about a dog, with a black and white puppet scene. It did seem very minimalist, not sure its my thing, but I will explore further. I just love the fact that she is so unique.

She is truly one of a kind and literally every single one of her releases has surprised me in some way. I got into her through her work up to 1985, but now I find myself listening to her later work much more often. I find it comforting how diverse her body of work is. There's always going to be something I have a taste for, musically.

Individual clips don't really do the songs on 50 Words much justice, tbh. At the risk of sounding way too arty-farty, it's all about the mood, and the enveloping quality of the songs as a whole. I feel so much more immersed in her world with this album than with her previous work. But not being into it is ok too. I just have the habit of gushing over it whenever possible.

Well I love much of her earlier work, so I'm definitely very intrigued by these later albums. I'm looking forward to investigating further

I have been listening to tons of Christmas Music. Here is my Playlist.

1. Merry Christmas Darling = the Carpenters
2. Holiday Road = Lindsey Buckingham
3. Last Christmas = Glee's Version
4. My Favorite Things = Barbara Streisand
5. Hard Candy Christmas = Dolly Parton
6. All I Want for Christmas Is You = Mariah Carey
7. Baby, It's Cold Outside = Glee's Version
8. El-Shaddai = Amy Grant
9. Mary, did you know? Kathey Mattea
10. Little Alter Boy = The Carpenters
11. Jingle Bells = Barbara Streisand
12. Where Are You Christmas = Faith Hill
13. It Must Have Been The Mistletoe = Barbara Mandrell
14. Rockin Around the Christmas Tree = Darlene Love
15.The Christmas Song = The Carpenters
16. Mele Kalikimaka = Don Ho

As far as Christmas Albums by Artists, you cannot go wrong with The Carpenters. They put a lot of work into their Christmas Album and Karen Carpenter's voice is perfect for the holidays.

I would like to add Dominick the Donkey to the annoying crap list with any version of Santa Baby.

Also I would add any holiday tunes from Rascal Flatts. They stink.Or the lead singers voice sucks.

On the fave list.

I will add more later.

Some great Christmasy tunes you posted there. I didn't know Salsoul Orchestra did a Christmas song. I was really into their music (funk and disco etc) at one point in my life.

Here's my Welsh offering

In contrast.....I've been managing to avoid crap Christmas songs until someone put this on full blast, at a place I work, last week. ARRGGG!!! It was like torture. I was talking to a customer, and they tried to make me feel better by saying they'd had to endure it for many more years than me, as they were older.

Here a video that I made years back with Xmas music and view of the Xmas lights in town.

Stevie's Silent Night is included.

Yes Salsoul did a complete Christmas album in 1976.Heres some more.I think most of us were in the disco mode in the 1970's including me.

I got about 3 copies of Salsoul orc album over the years.I remember walking down to my neighbors recordshop in the center of Wallyworld to pick up their album with other Christmas records.

Wow a whole christmas album. I actually got into them in the 90's (a bit late I know) but I had friends that were very enthusiastic about house, disco, garage etc. Since your post I've been searching out my favourite disco tunes. I'll post one on "what are you listening to now" as its not Christamsy.
