I just finished Chad Harbach's book "The Art of Fielding." I rarely enjoy fiction, but this was PERFECT! Totally awesome, and I don't even like baseball. I'm also struggling through the second book in George R.R. Martin's "Song of Fire and Ice" (Game of Thrones) series.

Glad to see some some of the younger ones enjoy reading.
![]() Let's see...recently, I finished In the Woods - a mystery, a genre of which I'm not particularly fond. But this was a compelling read, with really lush prose. I also finished Escape From Camp 14, an account of a man who escaped from the harshest of North Korea's prison camps. It is quite disturbing in parts, but I couldn't put it down. Detroit City Is the Place to Be: The Afterlife of an American Metropolis
A great book, so far. I'm rooting for Detroit. It could definitely be a great city again.

Just took a break from "Belinda" by Anne Rice and picked up one of my newer favorite authors - Michael Palmer. He does medical thrillers - if I wasn't a choir director, I'd be a doctor. The book is called "A Heartbeat Away".
Awaiting me is a Daniel Silva book - haven't read him, but it looks intriguing!!

I'm fixing to reread Sammy Hagar's autobiography. By next week, I hope that the library will have the 2 books I ordered.

I'm currently reading a book by a Peruvian writer named Mario Vargas Llosa called "Conversation in the Cathedral." It's a little confusing but in my opinion it's very good!

Just finished "The Last Days of Marilyn Monroe" by Donald Wolfe (I have a new respect for Ms.Monroe now, she was not a 'blonde bimbo' at all - but someone who wanted to be taken serious when the rest of the world saw her as only a "sex symbol/sex toy") Plan to start on the following books: "Let's Roll! Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage" by Lisa Beamer "The Death of a President - November 1963" by William Manchester
