And isn't that something you say about a vocal rather than a song. Like your voice might sound like it did when you were 30. That's a good thing. On the other hand, you don't necessarily want a song sounding 30. You want it to sound 2012.

I mean, that might have been the criticism of EFO. It sounded 30, like when they were 30. It sounded disco.

sounds like it from these most recent interviews, doesn't it? she concludes stuff and then says we as she and LB, or she and the rest of the Mac, have concluded that. she says stuff like we don't want to record a new album and people say - see, FM the band doesn't wanna make a new album. and the rest of FM mostly let her say whatever she wants it seems without much reaction.

actually, looking at those videos of Q&A with Stevie and Dave after their movie screenings, that's how the relationship between her and Dave seems to work - she kept talking over him and answering every single question left and right and just kept going on and on regardless of whether her answers had anything to do with the original question. and he would just sit there and laugh and say something like "yeah i just have to let her yak on, have no other choice." so maybe she keeps going on like that when alone with these people too, and they just tune her out, and even if they do say something back she just talks over them, ignores them, or says "no, i'm right, you don't know"? i found those interactions between her and Dave at q&as really funny, and guess he just takes her as she is. i remember discussing that with one huge SN fan and she said how most SN fans just found all that highly endearing.

however that's why these most recent Lindsey interviews were so informative and refreshing (well other than the relief of not containing the usual big machine/small machine/cycles talk). we actually got to hear what he thinks (and seems that what Stevie presents as we think, is actually just what she thinks ).

this worries me. do we want them to sound like when they were 30? or like they are 30 now? i don't. i don't want 60 year olds singing about problems of 20 or 30 year olds..... that doesn't make any sense and would make them look pathetic.

that's why lyrics of songs like the End of Time make so much sense - it's a song by a grown up.

I love the new article from Lindsey. I was happy that he said he thought Stevie felt put-upon about doing songs. She never had a Fleetwood Mac album in mind. She has many songs she could use, but just didn't want to do it then. Alot happened last year folks.

I think she meant musically. The "sound," not the words.

We already know the songs are about Stevie, but they seem to be from a perspective reflecting where they are now in their relationship (and looking back on it).

I think he wanted to attract her with the sentiment of the words too, but except for Ms. Perfect FM has never been a particularly literal band. What the song may be about won't necessarily be obvious in its words or sound. So I am not worried about this music sounding like Taylor Swift's, even if the conflict behind it may seem childish to me. I do not think the musical translation will.

I did think CAD and "it was you" were a little too sing songy (but CAD has taken on gravity live this year) and I don't want the songs to be too surface. Sometimes I worry, but then again, FM fluff even had its intricacies and I do not think Lindsey can have completely lost sight of that. Michele

I don't think there's anything abiguous about her saying the songs sound 30, as in, 30 years old. She means they sound like classic Fleetwood Mac, which is what everyone has been saying.

I can't pretend to understand what Stevie's saying all of the time (how can anyone) but once you omit a lot of 'you know's, 'well's, 'really's, and 'like's, and you've listened to her talk a lot, it's a little bit easier. A little bit.
