Default Lindsey in Ithaca

I just saw Lindsey in Ithaca, NY tonight. A small theatre with only half the seats sold, but a very spirited crowd. The set list was the same as the other shows but I loved the intimacy and intensity of his performances. Psyched I got to shake his hand!--which almost makes up for me not being able to secure meet-and-greet tickets.

One curious thing: Not once did he mention Bob Welch's death. I know he doesn't have to do this, but it just seemed a little strange to me.

Otherwise, loved the show!

SO thoroughly enjoyed my first solo Lindsey show in Ithaca last night! It just keeps getting more and more important to pay homage to the great ones. The Goddess of Music Appreciation touched me -- earlier in the day I was offered an upgrade and had no idea it would be a meet and greet, front row, up close and personal ! Oh and what could I bring him? Got into my pile of storage boxes and dug out the only remaining vinyl that I own - of course their 1973 B&N work ... got the gold pen and packed it up to take to the show! Found a gratitude card I could leave him with because he just needs to know from one more fan how he heals with that music and shines in the brilliance! And I pleaded that he keeps bringin it to us peeps! We out here need him over there doin that!!

The show was beyond expectations. Some lyrics I hadn't gotten before hit me so hard I was in tears. And of course he picked up a new guitar for each song. Master of the picking that he is, he just mesmerized me -- so thoroughly taken to that place by I'm So Afraid, my favorite emotional song he does. What an intimate setting. Such an f in genious!!

Here's some pics of meeting him. He seemed genuinely grateful to be acknowledged for the impact of his poetry and music, "That's what the music is for!" I asked about a S&L set of shows. He confirmed they've been talking about it but she's doing her stuff right now too. I assured him we would be there! OMG he was so sweet, gentle and humble...really. And, he was still a little sweaty for that hug I will never forget....Hope you enjoy the show too if you can go

thanks so much for sharing your experience and pics - they are great!!

looking at the pics, i'm thinking these were not taken by the staff member but by someone you knew? or staff member agreed to snap several action ones for you? i'd love to have some action shots like this instead of a regular "say cheese!" photo.

<333 'd this whole review And I love that you got that great hug!

At other m&g people were told that they'd take the photo for you with your camera. Was that the rule for yours? My impression was they'd only allow one photo.

Here are a few pics I took using my droid...the lighting was off and he didn't mind people getting up close for shots...these are from my seat just so I had a few ...

And the meet n greet was organized two by two by one of Lindsey's roadies and I can't remember if another roadie or the venue staff person took the pix...but the orders were:
1) "Men, don't squeeze Lindsey's hands tightly if you shake hands. My getting my kids new braces depends on him being able to play." [haha]
2) You can get him to sign one item only.
3) Be sure you take your time and talk to him.
4) Give us your camera and we will take the pix for you -- [so that person just kept snappin] ...

One person had the pix taken with a camera and her phone so they were definitely not into rushing. It was totally worth the money .. I'd have paid even more but hey, that's just me.

SO BLESSED!

Sweaty and he looks quite flushed too.

Glad you had such a good time. I love what you said about the lyrics taking on new meaning for you when you were hearing them being performed live.

Thanks Michele. Yeah, some of the Bleed to Love Her, other lyrics about "my children", and something about his soul and being a child ... I was so taken I can't even remember what songs they are from...I love when music does that to me!

thanks for giving us the details. i hope that's the case at my m&g too - supposedly RI one was very rushed... since LB has just a few people traveling with him, i'm thinking that might be the venue staff person who gets to snap m&g pics - so it may be very dependent on the venue how many pic, how rushed etc. hope the same rules as at your m&g will apply in the future ones (except i'd REALLY like my friend to take pics, and not a staff member...)!

That sounds like Not Too Late. It doesn't get much love on here ( though I've always loved it! ), but the concerts I went to, it was very well received. Really emotional stuff, plus such beautiful guitar...the crowd ate it up.

I really enjoyed the show. I have some pictures I will post tomorrow and I will also post a more complete review of my meet and greet.

Here is the video I shot for Seeds We Sow.

I'm glad you guys have and will be sharing your meet and greet photos. I so wanted to buy tickets for that but they sold right away!

I really loved the show and enjoyed the stripped down nature of things. He was able to get a very full sound out of just his guitar, his voice (which was in surprisingly great shape), and spare dubs and back-up guitar from one of his roadies.

It felt like a very full show.

Again, I am wondering what people's thoughts are about him not mentioning Bob Welch. My friend and I were pretty surprised by his silence on this.

I'm only guessing of course. But maybe he doesn't
want to bring the audience down with that type of
mention, considering the circumstances.

A "small but mighty" group in Ithaca, NY on Thursday June 8th.

Video enthusiasts were out in full force Thursday night... tons of footage captured during this show... Check out the following videos from ThisDogAteMyVlogs, the visual is a distant one, so not much to look at, but the audio and the atmosphere really come through and sounds great!

Go Your Own Way | So Afraid | Big Love |
Seeds We Sow | Never Going Back Again | Come

ALSO.... 8 Videos by voltgod from Ithaca are located here (http://www.youtube.com/user/voltgod#g/u) Lindsey wishes Lisa a Happy Birthday and sings a line from the song to her just prior to singing Seeds We Sow
