Someone who has never heard The Letter definitely cannot judge whether or not you're one of the best singers from the last 50 years. It seems like she's only been listening to music for the last 10.

But I did appreciate Jennifer more after seeing her on Idol than I had before. She seemed compassionate and wiser than I'd thought of her as being.

As for age, well Paula Abdul is going to be 50. To be a judge, you have to have enough experience to have been through it all and have had time to reflect. We don't need Taylor Swift judging.

Of course, this is not a job I want Stevie to have and if it were her choice, I'm sure I'd berate her for it -- but not as much as I would have if she'd taken a permanent Vegas gig. Michele

Her age would be a plus if it were Idol's only consideration
for her to actually judge. But they need a face for TV. And
as much as I like Stevie, adding her to the show would really
age judges row.

I think Stevie's voice is too quiet to be a judge. She whispers
too much. The soundman would have to ride the mix for the
whole show.

If she has been considered or offered a part on Idol, I don't think she would do it, just because of the LIVE factor.I would love to see her reactions and facial expressions during the auditions for the show. To me that in itself would be priceless. I would also love to see who would get her vote to go to Hollywood. Randy, telling Stevie that her " get-up is fly " would also be cool. Hopefully she will return even as a mentor. That seemed to workout really well for her.

I'm very surprised that Jimmy did not get offer the judge job.He probably has no time to do it in his busy schedule. Also probably wont be fair to have all man judges on the show.

I'm surprised that Jimmy did not bring Tom Petty on the show.Unless he did already.

Could be he tried but I don't see Petty accepting the offer at all.

Yes, I think Tom Petty would be above that. But he did perform at that Brooks Bat Mitzvah that time, so maybe I am overestimating his artistic sensibilities.
