I thought that, too. The transitioning was awkward and the song edits didn't flow smoothy at all - especially the the edited-down version of "Edge of Seventeen," with its noticeably abrupt jumps. Elise did her best with it anyway.

Best mentoring job to date! I also thought Jimmy was a lot looser and funnier! And all of the contestants really had a fire under them!
One blogger suggested Simon Cowell call Stevie for one of the X-FACTOR judges spots......NOW!!!!

I wondered that myself. I know Stevie was just trying to pay P2 a compliment, but she made it sound like she and Lindsey were not friends with anyone worthy to be in Fleetwood Mac at that time... and therefore, P2 is far more talented than any of their friends at the time. I watch AI all the time and I like Phillip, but c'mon.

Of course, the idea that Mick Fleetwood would be willing to take on anyone/everyone that Lindsey recommended is ridiculous in itself (although most people in the audience are not familiar with the fact that Lindsey insisted Stevie be in the band, and probably believe she would be the one instructing Mick on who his new band members should be).

Plus, Stevie should know that Lindsey would never put his career on the line by insisting a talented good friend be a member of the band or he wasn't joining! That privilege is reserved for a talented girlfriend.

I wonder if Lindsey and/or Mick watched, and if so, what they thought of it. I bet Mick did, at least.

I thought it was an odd choice of songs. I mean, those 3 together? Really? OK.

I think Landslide started off nicely but it went downhill fast from there. Nobody can sing Edge of Seventeen except Stevie Nicks. Nobody.

I have been watching this season and this girl has a one in a million voice ..I'd put her in the same league as a young Whitney or Mariah which has never been my style of music to buy or listen to but I can still recognize talent like that when I hear it.Ms. Sanchez has a chance, if her career is handled well ,to be the first Fillipino superstar in the US.

Well, obviously you have simply overlooked the Filipino-American superstar Tia Carrere!

I feel the same. Landslide was an obvious selection, but Edge of Steventeen was a poor choice, and Don't Stop was a ****ty choice. Stand Back and Stop Dragging My Heart Around would have suited them better.

Stevie was really wonderful on the show, but possesses such a serious demeanor; I wish she would smile a little more.

And for the record:

The song Without You is originally by Badfinger, written by band members Peter Ham and Tom Evans. It appeared on their 1970 album No Dice. Several years later Harry Nilssen covered it and made it a huge hit. When Randy referred to it as a Harry Nilssen song I wish he would have given credit to Badfinger. He surely knows better.

Is there an organized list of video links for all of Stevie's sessions with the contestants?

I just wish Stevie would have her documentary of you In Your Dreams out so it could benefit from her tv appearances.

There is something really odd going on with Steven Tyler during this show. I think he is high. He has had the hardest time kicking drugs.

Grantland talks about Idol. Here's the SN excerpt.

http://www.grantland.com/blog/hollyw...t-in-the-top-9

Thoughts on guest coach Stevie Nicks?

Kang: It was a good and necessary change of pace. Mary J. will always be the most helpful and inspiring guest coach, but sometimes you have to mix it up and bring in some crazy. This, by the way, was the formula that catapulted Idol to such prominence — Simon’s stern helpfulness and Paula’s apparent drug/drinking problem. (By the way, can you imagine how much better the show would have been had they started out with Mary J. in the Randy role? I continue to be completely mystified by his continued presence on the show. I’ve never met a single person who says, “I really like Randy Jackson.” In fact, if you like Randy Jackson, please explain why in the comments section below.)

Stevie definitely brought the safe, post-menopausal crazy, and I’m glad that the Idol producers finally watched The Voice and realized that as long as you’re going to have great singers on as guests, you might as well have them sing a bit. My favorite part of last night’s show was when she grabbed a terrified Hollie Cavanagh by the shoulders and whispered, “I’ve got some Xboxes, an eight-ball, and some incense in a van in the parking lot. Do you want to prank call that bitch Debbie Harry with me?”

Lisanti: Stevie Nicks was incredibly entertaining. Not only did she sing along with the contestants, tell inappropriate stories about personal tragedies (RIP, Mama Nicks), and offer just about every contestant a spot in Fleetwood Mac, she eye-****ed Colton Dixon and Phil Squared to within an inch of their lives. (I wouldn't be surprised to discover her mansion in Laurel Canyon is fully stocked with skinny twentysomethings who wander around in nothing but tie-dyed T-shirts, waiting for her to flog them with a dream catcher. God knows she's earned it.) Things got a little uncomfortable when they showed that photo of how much Phillip looks like a young Lindsey Buckingham, or when they showed ANY images of Jimmy Iovine's hippie-libertine former self, who probably would've stubbed a joint out in his own eyeball if he knew (a) he'd actually live to see 2012, and (b) his 60-year-old self would dress exactly like Justin Bieber.

But she was great. Who knew we secretly wished the show would find a female version of Steven Tyler?
