Did it hurt my feelings? Absolutely.

But did I do something about it? Absolutely. Her telling me how fat I had gotten, WAS the motivation that I needed, to put my life back in order. SERIOUSLY. She WAS rude for saying it, but I've thanked her 100 times!!!

I lost 80 lbs, and have kept all but 10, off. But more than just the weight....really....the weight loss gave me a new lease on life!!! I had given up on life, and love....it was over for me...and now, I've seriously become the best ME that I've ever been(NO, not because of the weight, but what the weight represented to me.....just giving up, not caring what I looked like, etc....). I have a new lease on life, and life is sweet now(50 times sweeter than it was before, because I now have the gift of HOPE).

Anyway, I was only trying to impart what his statements might have been shooting for...motivation.
I know my dad probably didnt MEAN to say it rudely....but he is a guy...I personally like your way of saying it

I guess its about time I get myself back into shape....

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all the Ledgies who have helped me get through this art coursework, I handed in the final piece and my book after getting so stressed out I had to take an hour off timetable and be set up in an ICT room to finish my work
But it's all handed in now, and we're only waiting on the results, if I can post pictures or my video, I will. But once again, thanks so much to the Ledge and Ledgies for distraction when I wanted it and help when I needed it.

I don't normally do Cake, but I think I've fallen in love with the lickle one I'm eating now. Strawberry frosting with a surprise of Raspberry Jam and a Marzipan crust.

The marriage is in July.

Just as hard, I'd imagine, as it is for gay people to take over and over again people saying they're sinful, wrong and unnatural.

One last thing, could you explain your last two sentences? I didn't
understand your exact meaning.
Sorry, poor sentence structure on my part. I was referring to both what markolas said about "Christian love" and the definitions of love Eros, Storge, Philia and Agape and being facetious in saying that there should be another.

Caitlin: You should definitely have knocked your dad down a few pegs! He was bang out of order in what he said to you. You're gorgeous.

I really do have an "older man" fetish. I'm watching Boston Legal and I just remembered my thing for James Spader. It could be worse, though. Could be for William Shatner! Brrr!

I had to google Chris Meloni to see what he looked like. I can see why others would, but he has thing thing where his neck is the same width as his head. That I can't really get on with. It can be hidden with longer hair, but his style isn't very forgiving. You can keep him as long as I get to keep Rupert Everett, James Spader and Alan Rickman

James Spader for me over Chris Meloni. Although neither of them are much older than myself so hardly an "older man" thing going on there although in my younger days I did have quite a thing for William Devane.

I think family just feel comfortable saying to you in a loving, concerned way, something about your weight. And they most likely mean well always. I know if I saw a family member gradually putting on pounds I'd be concerned more than anything for them, asking them maybe to be checked out for underlying causes such as thyroid or something. I don't think anyone wants to pack on 50 lbs or more and then suddenly come to realize hey, I'm fat. I think we all would rather address the issue before it started happening sooner rather than later on.

I was sick for 2 days in the hospital and have been 155 pounds no matter how much or how little I eat, and have been this set weight naturally for the past 15 years but I had dropped to 139 and didn't even know it until I was weighed there. That was in August and I'm now back to 151 about where I always was. My doctor had checked for thyroid and other issues and all that was fine. I guess stress or an illness can cause us to lose weight.

As far as what others believe or religion, you can't argue with people or even attempt to reason with them or come to an understanding. I think we are all put here to be the people we are, not live lies. I think we have a very understanding, all loving God. Why some want you to fear him, I don't know. He's warmth and light and loving. And nothing to fear I don't believe. This fear is the very thing that keeps many out of a church and away from others preaching their dislike and hate and that is not what God was ever about.

Don't let him get you down. You deserve better than the treatment he is giving you!
Its not like the interviews Ive been on havent seen what I do...because after you meet the people you do a 2nd interview where you do a wash, cut and blow dry...and on one I did highlights and those are my specialty....So its not like that dont see what I do...=\

I talked to my friends mom and she was like "guys are assholes and sometimes they say stuff without thinking if it sounds mean or not..." He has said he's proud of me...but I guess he wwants me smaller

Thanks...I appreciate it...he really is a good dad...just says the wrong things...next time he calls me I'm gonna tell him he hurt my feelings =\

I'm not one to just come out right away and tell someone off...I dwell on it and then say something...which I shouldnt and I should probably say something in the first place. Ive had SO many ups and downs with my dad that I just dont want to start anything because I've been getting along with his girlfriend finally...and I havent liked her since I met her 13 years ago...but next time I'm going to tell him the truth...Oh and thanks =P

I recall my Dad and I having an argument once in 1999... my parents had been divorced for about a year and I was living with him and finishing school. All I remember is that we were arguing and I went to my room... he said "What exactly is your problem?" and I said "YOU'RE my problem!" and he literally turned around and walked out. I always felt bad about saying that to him, but I think after that it changed the way he dealt with me. And of course now that he's gone altogether I regret that moments like that even came between us. But yeah... the point is definitely don't let that one slide otherwise you might be hurt over it and your relationship with him may suffer.
