Besides, I have got a question, which the experts among you can surely tell me about. Since Lindsey was working with Richard Dashut on a solo album which he then plundered for the sake of this FM album which came out in 87, what about the rest of the songs he already had? I mean, did he start from scratch when he recorded "Out Of the Cradle" and if not, what are the titles of the songs from before Tango which did not make it onto Cradle?

As far as I know, Stevie has never implied that her first time to rehab was involuntary. I don't believe rehabilitation works that way. I've read that there was some kind of an intervention but Stevie made the choice and paid the bill.

There appears to be some confusion about the actual time she went to Betty Ford. Stevie repeatedly states it was 1985, whereas, others say it was November of 1986 and it was mentioned on Behind The Music(and also in Mick's book) that she received treatment in spring of 1987. For some reason, it has also been said that she was treated for alcohol-related problems, which she has denied. There is also speculation that she went to a rehabilitation facility in the 1980's more than once.

I haven't revisted Mick's book for long while. Recalling that they chose 'When I See You Again' over 'What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done for You,' --- does that mean there is fully recorded Fleetwood Mac version of the song sitting in a can somehere? If so, it's too bad it wasn't released as a b-side/bonus track. Same goes for 'Joan of Arc.'

The version of the song that is circulation seems to be like a demo Stevie made with her own "people."

I wish 'When I See You Again' was better song than it turned out to be, baby! It's in the same catagory as 'The Second Time.'

What I do remember is the VH1 "Making of Rumours" video, she says (in the Gold Dust Woman chapter) "after all these years since I haven't done cocaine since 1986 I can talk about it now..."

So definitely the cocaine rehab must be in 1986, but Mick talks about alcohol rehab in 1987:

Complicating matters slightly in the spring of 1987 was Stevie's admission to the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs to get her life under control. This was done through an "intervention" by friends, members of her family, and the management company. Stevie spent twenty-eight days in a successful treatment for alcohol problems, but she didn't like being coerced into entering this facility, and Frontline was fired shortly thereafter. (Later she told me that the treatment made her change her way of thinking, and was worth it.)

Anyway what we are now sure is that she is clean and sober now.
