Hi! I don't know if someone asked for it before, but...why the name "Tango"?
I'm from Argentina, and as you know, the Tango here is just the "national music". I supposed Lindsey chose the name, but obviously I'm not sure.
Anyone know something about that?

Unless I'm way off base.

Tango in the Night, was slang for an intimate encounter.

That's what the song is about. But what I don't know is why he/they chose that song for the album title.

What if this album were named... "Big Love".. or "You and I"(humm... not cool)

Or.. "Little Lies".. good title for that era

Or.. "Mystified"..

anyway I don't see any Stevie song for naming that album

I think it's a rather brilliant title for the album. For one thing, the song "Tango in the Night" goes into a slow waltz time during the chorus. But more significantly, it seems that the band dynamic in general is a bit of a tango, which, in my opinion, is a dance that seems to tread the fine line between love and hate. In one instant you're touchy-feely... then in the next, you're throwing your partner halfway across the floor. You're staring intently into each others eyes one moment, and the next moment you're throwing your partner back until her head almost touches the floor. I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you... in essence, the story of Fleetwood Mac.

NYC I for one always love the poetry of a decision like that. I'm not sure it was that deep.

LB was deep into a new album, to get him to give up many of those songs for a MAC album....it kinda was unavoidable to name the album after one of LB's songs wasn't it?

Of his offerings Tango just sounds way cooler than the other options....can you imagine if they called it Family Man?

Although.....Isn't it Midnight would've been a good choice...but thats a co-written song.

An offbeat question, was Tango possibly the working title for LB's next album?

Interesting that Mick says Stevie felt she was coerced into going to Betty Ford, and she fired Frontline Management because she was mad at them about that.

But these many years later, in recent interviews Stevie says (I'm paraphrasing here) "I decided to go to rehab....no one pushed me..I decided I had to quit drugs, not anyone else."

I wonder which is correct?!

Both: the first rehab was involuntary, the second rehab was voluntary.

Hey, you know the tango very well!!! Love, hate, and love again...one or two sights are enough to feel them. Is just like the FM story...

And I agree with what ryan said, I couldn't imagine an album called "Family Man" but I think "Isnt' it midnight", "Big Love" or "Little Lies" could be good options. All of them, but not some name of a Stevie's song...

Agreed. The sordid Tango drama is too messy and makes the band look too much like spoiled, sloppy rock stars who pretty much hated the sight of each other. Whether or not Mick was lying about the Stevie/Lindsey throw-down, well, who really knows? It may or may not have happened, but the mere mention of it as maybe having happened is an ugly issue that I'm sure the band would like to bury. They'd all probably like to bury a lot of what Mick said in that book. Actually, they probably wanted to bury MICK

Yeah, Mick portrays Chris as a bit of a mean drunk, doesn't he? From the video footage I've seen of her it looks like she was more of a funny drunk, but then again, she did slap Lindsey after a show for kicking Stevie onstage. I wonder if she was drunk then? Get 'em Chris!

You can definately hear Stevie's vocals in the 12" versions of FM, LL, and BL. These vocals must have been what they added after her bitch session with the band, but which ultimately got edited out for the single/album versions.

She is very present on the album version of Little Lies--on the chorus. Does the 12" feature even more of her?

What are her background vocals like on the extended version of BL? I'd be interested in hearing that.
