I only listened to this song a few times, but it's been stuck in my head ALL day. I can't get rid of it. It's really catchy.

Both songs (album versions) I have heard so far are a harbinger of good things to come. His vocals sound great. I have never really been a fan of his live vocals the past 15 years or so. I have preordered my copy... it'll be a great album.

I like the guitar too, but I think it's a little...much.

I hate to say it, but I feel like I'm starting to prefer Stevie! I love Stevie but my main focus has always been on Lindsey. There's just so much going on in his songs that sometimes it's hard to listen to.

I feel like this whole post is one big contradiction. I don't know what I am trying to say. I can't wait to hear the album version of Illumination. If that has the sped up voice....I think I'm gonna cry.

But I love you Lindsey!!
I am beyond shocked!

I like the sped up vocal sound I like it all. It's poppy and catchy but plenty quirky different as well. It balances them really well.

And I have to say that I really like the drums. He's never really had live percussion on his solo albums but he always tried to make the drums sound like real drums but here he's just gone for something that carries the beat but does try to masquerade as a real drummer. I think that works really well. It also means the beat can be quirkier!

Initial reaction: I prefer the live version. And I am so over the whisper sped up vocals. Why doesn't ANYone ask him about this interviews. I thought this would be a great single, but now I'm not so sure. Still, as a guitar piece, it's undeniably an adventure. I like adventures.

Yeah, ridiculously catchy!

As far as the vocals go, they don't sound that sped up to me just... strangely nasal on that first verse and pre-chorus... the studio version is in C# major though and in B major live so who knows.

Is it about Stevie? It seems to confirm the title of her recent (and greatest) solo album: In Your Dreams. lol THESE TWO!

PS--The song is BEAUTIFUL.

I know, I know! Maybe it's just because I've been listening to a lot of Stevie demos lately. Some of Lindsey's songs catch me off guard at first, but then I end up loving them. So...I think I am going to keep my mouth shut until the new CD comes out.

OFFICIALLY LESS THAN ONE MONTH AWAY!

Default Nice song

Shame about the pitch shift on his voice, seems silly..he ought to leave it be as it was recorded. Doing that on audio is the equivalent of airbrushing a photo..taking it to far beyond what it originally was

Parts of the sped up vocals in the verses sound like a young Stevie to me. I wonder if that's what he was trying for?

Yes, Stevie has spoken about how they sound alike. She sounds like him slowed down and he sounds like her sped up. She said it was really something. I can't remember whether she called it weird or creepy.

And he can alsoo make himself sound like Christine and apparently did so deliberately for SYW. Stevie said she had to ask him if that was Christine or him.
