Anyway, as much as I HATE to agree with you, this is one of my BIG pet peeves, too. My cousin comes over to my house, and stays a couple days each week. After he's had a couple beers, he will NOT stop talking. Last week, I finally shut the movie off, after about 30 minutes of non-stop blather. He kept talking for a few minutes, then he said, "turn the movie back on. I wanna watch it."
Me> "WATCH IT???? You have talked NON-STOP since I put it in, 30 minutes ago!!!!!!!!" He denied it, and I then listed topic after topic that he'd babbled about. "You've not heard one word from the movie, and neither have I! Do you realize that you NEVER stop talking?"
He finally shut up....

My mother does this. Especially in a car. I've had to say, "Okay, I need about 5 minutes of quiet time please." The really annoying thing is, 9 out of 10 stories she tells me are reruns. She forgets she's already told me things.
