It seems he had some regrets of writing several episodes in his first book, or so I read. I guess for the second book he was more discret.

Yes, Mick is not ashamed of that. If they were being sensitive to his feelings then they might not talk about his money problems, but I don't think any of them thought about insulting him when they discuss drug use.
