I don't after reading this. I've never heard her sound so negative about Lindsey. What happened to the "talk" and all that crap? She setting it up so she's not the bad girl.

So she's not the 'bad girl'? Ha. Well, the way she's been going, she must be aware by now that that's exactly how many fans are going to be interpreting all of this, that she IS being 'bad' and not being a team player, etc.
If FM do a final album, she'll be on it. Typical that out of a four hour interview/conversation (including talk of Fritz/BN apparently), these are the quotes we get from it.
Her and Linds seem fine, whatever the case. Landslide from Grand Rapids + MSG.

I agree. If she recorded her latest solo album in 3 weeks, she could easily recreate the same situation with Fleetwood Mac. She may not be able to stand Lindsey, but thanks to digital recording technology and her newfound ability to record quickly, the amount of time she'd have to dedicate to a FM project would be almost inconsequential. And we all know she'd sooner die than let Lindsey be on a final FM album without her. All of this posturing in the press is just a way for the band members to wrangle whatever demands they may have for this project.

I think that's a point most people leave out. Stevie is far too prideful to let her archenemy/lostlover outperform her. She couldn't stand it. There's also the chance that this whole thing is a bunch of codswallop for the press to eat up, and the album was finished during their winter hiatus!

They've hated each other for many albums, doesn't mean she won't do it.
Christine: Lindsey loves you, Stevie!!
Stevie: It was his hatred that fooled me!

Hey Stevie,
How's about shutting the hell up with the press about how much you don't like Lindsey, get off your lazy ass, and write three effing songs. Good Lord, in the time you spent bitching about Lindsey, you could've had your contributions to the new Fleetwood Mac album completed.

perfect point! do something constructive with that anger and complaints - like put it in a song or 2 or 3 (look up Sad Angel or ITT or even Dancin' for how it's done!) instead of endlessly yakking about it.

It's a fair point. I know a lot of people think it's all about the $$. But I'm sure Christine and Lindsey could easily do an album without her. Mick would be the only one worried about that.

I think she will do the record. She does not want to be the one to break up the band. And I think she is being honest about her relationship. They have lingering issues. Big deal. They can get along and co-exist. It can still be difficult. Think you are reading too much into this. I think it is a matter of time commitment. She has two careers. And she likes the way her songs are coming out solo vs. with Fleetwood Mac. She was not too happy with Say You Will and quite frankly, listening to Smile At You, I cannot blame her.

Exactly, these two have hated each other for a long time. And some of the best work has come from it. Why would that stop her now?
I don't think she cares however about being the "bad guy". She is thriving on the diva reputation. It actually helps her with some fans.

Big Bad Stevie is just making Fleetwood Mac wait and wait for her. I call BS on all this. if she said the sky were blue a lot of you here would say it was another color just to bitch about her. She hung in with this group while being the only female for years. Why would she walk away now that Christine is back? Take a pill...

I just wish the band was above letting her make them wait. Sure, they want an album with her, but if that can't be had, why just sit there? Put out the album in 2015, capitalize on the publicity her absence will bring and hope that in a year or two maybe you can make an album with her.

Yeah, this is kind of what I've been saying for some time, too. We all know how Stevie prefers to flop between her solo and FM careers. After 3 consecutive years in a row of touring with FM, she will most likely want a break from FM. Especially considering she shelved any sort of promotion for her most recent solo album, and instead kept on touring with FM. I don't see a FM album coming out this year at all. Next year? Maybe.
My guess is Stevie will want to do at least some sort of small solo tour perhaps later this year for 24k Gold. Or maybe she will take off the rest of the year to write and put some demos to tape. We all know how the road with FM tends to inspire her. I also know with Lindsey and Christine contributing new material, Stevie will want something fresh to bring to the FM table.
will? she already did. 5 years and counting. i guess they need to wait 10 years. wish they'd fire her and get on with it already.
Ok, so where's the 5 year figure coming from? It's been 2 years since the EP, and 12 since Say You Will. Stevie's last albums were released 1 & 4 years ago; Lindsey's 4, 7, and 9 years ago; and Christine's was 11 years back. I guess the first time we heard rumblings of a new FM album was during the Unleashed tour, though- 6 years ago now?
Whatever the case, I hope Stevie gets on board for a FM album sooner than later. It's been 28 years since we've gotten any new studio work from the Rumours 5. The band is on the largest grossing tour of their career, and public interest has never been higher. It's time to strike while the iron is hot. They had the same chance following the Dance, and utterly bungled it back then by waiting 6 years to release new material. I sincerely hope they learned from that mistake, but something tells me they haven't.

Because she know she has a limited time to accomplish for herself and she is back to being respected ( thank liz rosenberg )and not the butt of the joke
plus she made enough cash on this tour to keep her from worrying for awhile

Sorry being a FM Debbie downer and harsh plus and so non FM .At this point I really dont care if Stevie goes to record with FM at this point. The topic is getting tiring.Sorry to be crude.
Whatever she does and its fine with me.She can go and sing an opera album is fine with me. Anyway who said its mandatory that she got to record a new album with FM.
If they record without her. They can hire Paulette Carlson to replace her.
On a positive note I hope this game will pan out in the meantime and enjoy the rest of this tour.

Why does she get a pass on the "you're in or you're out" rule? That's how it was for Lindsey and for Christine. If Stevie doesn't want to be on the album, she shouldn't be in the band. Anyway, Fleetwood Mac already tried the "only half a member of the band" experiment, and it didn't work.

Hypothetically speaking if Stevie had a talk with Mick and said "I don't like the musical direction Lindsey takes my songs ( or whatever the reason is) therefore I will not record with the band and so I don't hold Fleetwood Mac back any longer I am retiring from the band permanently"...I wonder what Mick response would be. Would he would beg Stevie to stay (more cash cow tours) and the record be put on hold indefinitely. Or would Mick say "Bye Bye" ?

I don't even know what to think anymore. I wonder where all of this negativity towards Lindsey is coming from now. Could it possibly be from the pressure he's putting on her to finish the new record?
I've been wondering if Stevie and/or Liz have just put a gag on asking about the FM album all together? Because it blows my mind that no one has even asked about it in any interviews. I keep waiting for SOMEONE with the balls to ask her straight up what her thoughts are on her band having finished half an album without one peep from her about it. To ask her "Why aren't you commenting? Your band is so excited and have songs they are super proud of and ready to give to the world. What are your plans for it? Fans clearly want one last masterpiece from this lineup, so why instead of recording a VOL 2 of 24KG aren't you more focused on helping finish what your bandmates so clearly want?" INSTEAD - all we get are the same freakin questions she's answered over and over and over and over and over again. Someone needs to step up and ask some real questions.
Aside from that - I actually enjoy entertaining the idea that she secretly recorded material for the album during their winter break (as someone previously suggested). It's 99% improbable but a part of me likes indulging that tiny little 1% chance.

Maybe it would open a more serious dialogue about brining someone new in to executive produce....... *eyes Rick Ruben or Butch Vig*

You're judging her whole history with Lindsey producing her songs on Say You Will? There a many, many examples of her songs that he took to the millionth level. IMO Say You will wasn't a great album. Lindsey's work since then (solowise) has been great as has Stevie's. Now is the time to get this done.

Not talking about producing. What I'm saying is if Stevie told Mick "I'm not recording with FM my mind is made up and nothing you can do or say will change it. I'm leaving FM because I don't want the band putting the record off any longer in hopes that I will change my mind 2 years from now. If she were to tell Mick this what would his reaction be?

I don't understand why so many have to be so damned bitter about Stevie's success and her role in Fleetwood Mac. It is what it is. Christine is amazing and a huge celebrated draw for this tour, but Fleetwood Mac wasn't having trouble selling tickets without her.
I'd love a new FM album as much as anyone, by the way.
Everyone is so quick to blame Stevie for no new album (yet), when the fact is they aren't even signed to a label. Are people expecting what will likely be their *last* album ever to be released independently like that half-assed EP? No label = no album, and that's not Stevie's fault.

ok 6 years now i guess!
but yeah, just read some of the threads here from 2009. everybody was so sure that FM will go straight in the studio when they get off the road in 2009... since Lindsey was saying that's what they'll do every night on stage. when they came off the road Stevie nixed the album, so he gave up and recorded SWS. and that was a part of his intro the whole 2011 solo tour "i was hoping something else was gonna happen, but since the time unexpectedly opened up, i filled it." then 2012 they went into studio. then 2014. so yes, since 2010-2015, looks like at least 5 years to me.

Because that would totally happen with two people who combined had TWELVE of seventeen of Fleetwood Mac's top 40 singles still in the band. As a personality, Stevie is hands down the biggest name in the band, however, she's not bigger than the band. What's next for La Nicks? Another straight to the cut-out bin album produced by Dave Stewart followed by stints as a "special guest" in Tom's band or Don's band or opening for Rod Stewart?
I don't understand why so many have to be so damned bitter about Stevie's success and her role in Fleetwood Mac. It is what it is. They aren't going to kick her out because she is the bread and butter anymore. Sorry, but it is the truth.
It depends. If Lindsey and Christine say "she's in or she's out, and if not, we're out," then what's Mick going to do? Do you think he'd choose to go on without Lindsey and Christine over Stevie?
Christine is amazing and a huge celebrated draw for this tour, but Fleetwood Mac wasn't having trouble selling tickets without her.
But, not to this degree. This tour is unlike anything they've done in decades. They were doing okay, but this is a whole different beast.

Also, it's because these people are not in their thirties or forties any more. They are 65-70. What they did in the past has little relevance today, as we close in on heaven.
If she wants to leave FM permanently, then good for her. But the odds are that's not what she wants and if she wants to be in the band 2 years from now, there is no way that the other four are going to tell her no, even if she stomps up to them, sneezes in their faces and sets fire to what's left of their hair. They aren't saying goodbye.
I just hope that enough people can pool their collective consciousness and get the band to simply record without her. I'm not even going to try to concentrate enough to will them to tour without her. That would take more brain power than I have left.

If they had a new album, then they'd get a label. They didn't have a label chosen when they were recording SYW.
Having no label is not the hold up on this album. And why is there always one excuse after another for why the delay is not Stevie's fault?
First, people were arguing that she probably agreed to record with them, but she did it secretly and her silence shouldn't mean anything -- because heaven knows this gal is the quiet type and wouldn't mention anything like working on an FM album!
Then, people were saying she would record a new album when her commitment to WB was fulfilled, because if she didn't finish her contract with WB right now, they would send hit men after her. So, you know, she didn't really have a choice. She just had to do 24K RIGHT NOW.
Now, the problem is not Stevie, but it's the fact that they don't have a label?
If Stevie was in line, everything else would fall into place and I don't know know why people are arguing that it's not her that's delaying an album, because she's not denying that. I think she's pretty darned proud of the fact that she is dictating FM's next steps and that the others have their noses bent out of shape waiting for her. It makes her feel it's the 1980s all over again.

Oh without a doubt Stevie and Liz have gag orders...most of these articles and interviews are so redundant, why even bother having a writer or columnist interview her! Liz could interview Stevie herself and make up a fake writer and just sell it to magazines. The Rolling Stone interview has its funny moments but it's pages upon pages of junk fluff. Rolling Stone goes that direction in the first place and then when you combine it with Stevie's legacy assuring agenda...there isn't much left of interest.
As much of a stir it caused, the Playboy interview Mick did a few years back may seem like the last really honest piece of journalism associated with this band. Was it part of a larger ploy to get them on the road? yeah probably, but at least Mick had some balls...and his frustration with Stevie I totally understand now, after these recent events.
This band dodges a major bullet with John's cancer and then the crazy fortunate return of Christine and Stevie still can't decide if she wants to be part of the band in the fullest sense - totally baffles me.

perfect point! do something constructive with that anger and complaints - like put it in a song or 2 or 3 (look up Sad Angel or ITT or even Dancin' for how it's done!) instead of endlessly yakking about it.
But I sense part of her anger is that she feels written out. Does she have a new song left in her? I'm beginning to wonder.

Because she know she has a limited time to accomplish for herself and she is back to being respected ( thank liz rosenberg )and not the butt of the joke
plus she made enough cash on this tour to keep her from worrying for awhile
If Stevie is dumb enough to screw up the best thing that's happened to this band since 1997 - she deserves to be the butt of a joke.:lol::lol:

I'm just thinking of that 1994 interview where Stevie said when she went on her solo tours,
They'd be waiting for me like anxious cats.
She's been dangling catnip for decades now. The others should put an end to this cycle. Their album is not going to sell anyway, Stevie or no Stevie. So, if they're waiting because they think they are going to go platinum and get a Grammy if Stevie is on board, they're so stupid I don't even know why I'm wasting my time.

Nope. She's out promoting 24 Karat and making plans for a follow up to it.The last thing on her mind is recording with The Mac IMO.I have thought from the beginning that Stevie, although I feel she really does love Chris, resents her a little b/c this tour is all about Chris and the spotlight is shining a little dimmer on her,and that is difficult for a diva to take. And I bet you that Bucky's beautiful repoire with Chris this tour is not sitting well with her either.
But I sense part of her anger is that she feels written out. Does she have a new song left in her? I'm beginning to wonder.
I love Stevie to bits, and I love her work....But I do agree here, I don't think Stevie has a new, original song left.
Maybe this is the problem, Lindsey and Christine have new stuff and she has old Demos.......(tho her old demos could be better than their new stuff)

Well, then, she needs to do something about it. Become part of it. Sneezing on Lindsey and doing everything in her power to piss him off is clearly making her all the more endearing to him. "I feel left out of the sandbox. I bet they'd all like me if I acted even bitchier and kicked Lindsey in the balls."

Stevie and Lindsey have always had a love/hate relationship. Any tension that currently exists between them is just par for course; when has it ever not been that way? But, being that is the endgame for the band, and likely her last association with Lindsey, it's very disheartening she seems to be playing this power card.
It's credible to assume that Lindsey and Christine could pull off the final Fleetwood Mac album sans Stevie. Yet in terms of their legacy, Stevie plays a significant role in it. Because of this ridiculously massive tour the band has undertaken, millions of people have become reacquainted with the most universal configuration of Fleetwood Mac. For them to reappear, absent of one of their most signature figures, it would be a huge, confounding let down.
Now that Stevie realizes she isn't immortal, she seems to have a fire in her to work more expediently to accomplish more. She doesn't have the luxury of time anymore. It's unfeasible to allow another decade to go by before producing another album/project. The efficient process Dave took to produce 24 Karat Gold, showed her that it's possible to do more in less time.
It seems, perhaps Stevie is reluctant to commit to the Fleetwood Mac album; mostly concerned about the expected lengthy time of involvement. But since most of the album is already done, for her to contribute three or four songs, and sing harmonies is not unreasonable to ask for. You'd expect she would jump at this, as a final gesture, to record with Christine, and show gratitude to the band that made her rich and famous.
She expresses such sentiment for the band, but where is the sentimental lady in her?

You summed it up for me here. I would have thought John's cancer and Christine's return would have really pulled everything together. It is very disappointing as a Stevie fan to see her so reluctant to do this album. I'm at a point where I can take her or leave her being apart of the album. I would absolutely love for her to be apart of it, but I'm alright with just hearing Lindsey and Christine's songs. I loved their collaboration on Tango.

I wouldn't say she resents Christine for attention. However, I have to admit that Stevie didn't seem as excited about Christine's return as I thought she would be. I remember a few people mentioning it during the time as well. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but now this situation confirms my thoughts. I think that Christine's return could have possibly put a damper on some of Stevie's plans for other projects. She often mentions that she wanted to be doing more for 24 Karat. So if Stevie is resentful, I would say it's because she feels FM is taking her away from what she truly wants to do. On one hand, I can understand Stevie's feelings, but I also feel she needs to make a commitment to the band or leave. Lindsey and Christine had to be all or nothing, so its only fair that the same would go for Stevie. Of course this is all speculation and none of us know for sure. I hope at the end of all of this they will eventually come together and make another album.

Yes, Lindsey said he intends to put his solo career on hold for a new FM album. Christine came back specifically for this reason. First thing she did was give Lindsey new music to work on. They're both in it 100%. Stevie, it seems, is not.

I agree wholeheartedly that when it comes to FM, that the sum is far greater than it's parts. But if we dissect the band, that doesn't mean the parts outlay equally. Even though Christine was the hit maker of the band, she couldn't even partially fill theaters 30 years ago at the height of her fame. With some exceptions, Lindsey is in the same boat. Stevie has been the only one who could ever tour amphitheaters solo, although that boat seems to have slipped away from her this past decade. Combine all of the venues that Chris, Lindsey, and Stevie can sell on their own, and they still wouldn't equal half of what FM can do total.
So yes, Stevie is the largest draw- but FM is still far more than the sum of it's parts. The band has tried all sorts of combinations without Lindsey, without Chris, without Stevie & Lindsey, etc and it's the Rumours 5 that take this band to the next level, period.
Regarding Stevie's press gag on a new FM album, there are some very valid reasons why that could be in place. Is Stevie reticent to say there will certainly be a new album because John's continued good health may not be a given? Maybe she's worried about Chris bolting after the drama that is the road. Perhaps she's afraid that she herself may encounter too much drama on the road with the band, and will want a break afterwards. Maybe she just wants to write some new material and get it into demo form after the tour so she'll have something fresh to bring to the table. The possibilities are endless.
That being said, it IS Stevie who is holding up a new album, any way you slice it. Whether her intentions are noble, or she's dangling her participation as leverage isn't clear. I just hope something comes out of this drama, and in a timely fashion.

The reason I want Stevie on board is because I would love to see new music with these five people. Even though Mirage and Tango were primarily written by Christine and Lindsey, we still got Gypsy, That's All Right, Straight Back, Seven Wonders. And her harmonies on the other two writers' tunes.
Lindsey is right, it's a band of chemistry and while she can be insufferable with her bloviating. She is huge in the chemistry of the band. Plus, she's singing better than I've heard since the Dance. All 3 of them are. (not to mention finances are good with her there, just like with Christine or Lindsey)
So that's why I want her on it.
If she doesn't do the album and they fire her. We might get a solid album and then see them in small intimate venues. (I'm not mad about that either.)

You are right- this whole thing boils down to Stevie pounding her chest and posturing. She's holding out for something- be it money, power, or simply just because she wants to see Lindsey squirm. I still just don't get it, though. She's gotten her most profound wish: Christine's return against all odds to buffer her & Lindsey. John's won his battle with cancer from what we can gather. Lindsey has long agreed to an outside producer. Stevie has admitted she farted out 24k Gold to brush off a contractual obligation. WTH does Stevie feel she isn't getting?

Does anybody think that, in part, all the continued "drama" talk from the members of Fleetwood Mac is simply to add to a larger narrative? It's great for business to constantly be discussing the relationships and "craziness" that is the band as it is what grabs headlines. I do not for one second think that Stevie and Lindsey are anywhere near being best friends, however I do think that both are very good at heighthening their neutrality towards each other in order to keep the Fleetwood Mac saga going within the public; the ongoing troubles of Fleetwood Mac is what keeps many interested in the band.

agree, but there does seem to be this new, additional layer to the talk lately. Anyone else notice how much Stevie has latched onto this new narrative (especially since her mom died) about how she's been "raised to be independent" and "raised not to depend on any man' Now, she's said similar sorts of things off and on for years… but this seems to have become her theme for this point in time, and on this tour. Like she creates a "uniform" in terms of her outfits and hair and jewelry for each tour, she crafts a series of talking points and a narrative for each tour. This tour it's all about her independence and how she's beholden to no one. She's taken it even further in the Rolling Stone article and in the Maclean's article (see the Stevie thread for the whole article). In the Maclean's she is really feisty and says "no one has the balls to tell me what to do" blah blah blah. So it feels like there's something up, on top of just having her talking points for the tour (which I get when you do a zillion interviews for months and months-- you're not under the stress of coming up with something new every time you meet with a reporter)… she's really trying to prove something, whatever it is. Time is getting short for them to get sh*t done individually and as a team… does she feel she gave up too much along the way for the band and she's not going to do it again??

This is extremely easy to decipher IMHO....
Stevie is very jealous that LB got to "walk out" and come back and get all the attention that it brought when he came back in the 90's.
Then Christine leaves and gets all the love she has received this year.
Stevie wants people to beg here to stay/come back, and thank her so much for staying/recording.
When this tour ends they will go their own way (sorry). She will do some recording/touring on her own. Then somewhere around the 2017 timeline she'll be back to record, and she will expect every article to talk about how she "came back" for one more. (or she's really gonna get pissed)
This whole "i can't get along with LB" talk rings hollow to me after all these years, it's felt like she thinks she has to say that for over 10 years now. If she didn't add drama the questions would stop....what would she do then.

I noticed in one interview where Stevie said they spoonfed the audience attention to Christine. Which is true. They do tee Christine up to get a lot of applause, mentioning her return and then positioning YMLF so strategically. But the way Stevie said it it was like she was pointing out that they have chosen to make Christine the showcase of this tour. A suggestion that it didn't happen organically, based on an outpouring of affection for the prodigal Macster.

That would be a dream come true.
I like Stevie and I like her songs, but I like Christine's and Lindsey's songs and their collaborations better. I liked Say You Will but never shook the feeling that it was a Lindsey solo record and a Stevie solo record on shuffle.
In my opinion, an album with Lindsey and Christine (without Stevie) would sound more like a band album than Say You Will does. Those two know how to collaborate, and have a long history of producing splendid songs together. I want to hear more of those. Stevie's harmonies on them would be good, but musically unnecessary. Two, or three, or four solo songs by Stevie, shoe-horned into a Fleetwood Mac album, would serve to satisfy the public's craving to have the 5 Rumourmacsters together again, but they might not fit too well into the work that Lindsey and Christine will put into the recording (or already have put into the recording).

But that's not how Blue Water sounds on the record at all. Dave Stewart's production is great on the song -- which is not something I say lightly. In fact, it sounds pretty sublime, although I made merciless fun of Charles Kelley before I heard him on the record. Maybe I have something against tall guys. Sorry, Mick.
This is the best song about a goldfish and a ladybug that you will ever hear, Elle.

Why the hell would Stevie want to look the problem? She's coming off really bad here. Many fans are pissed at her. I doubt she would willingly be the fall guy for fake drama. She's just acting like a diva for real. UGH.

I had another thought about the whole thing. Could it be Stevie is pissed that none of the band has even mentioned her new album to her? I wonder if they would have simply said how great it is she would be more into a new album. I mean when Silver Springs was left off Rumors she didn't talk to them for months. Just a thought.

Didn't both Mick and Christine attend Stevie's Polaroid show in New York? It's unlikely that her album went acknowledged. I don't think she ever expects too much praise from the Fleetwood Mac camp. There was little support from them when she went off and made Bella Donna. Around the same time, Lindsey released his solo debut Law and Order. In an press interview, he commented that he thought his album was better than hers.
By now, Stevie is used to having Fleetwood Mac (mostly Lindsey) being indifferent to her solo work. She just wants respect.
Obviously she takes herself too seriously. With two dueling divas in the band, there is bound to be tension.
I can see why Lindsey's work on Soldier's Angel was so appealing to him, because it channeled the dark, raw angst that exists in many of his songs. It was the first time he gave some indirect praise to Stevie. They had reignited their chemistry, and he expressed motivation to work with her if she wrote more songs at that level and style.

I must say I really loved the way she sang Blue Water in this video.I'm not hearing the nails on the chalkboard.....
It's raw, but has a charm to it. But I wish she would drop the novelty of playing the piano, and focus on the vocals. These performances would benefit immensely if accompanied by professional piano player.
Why on earth does she not change her clothes occasionally? Is it that difficult to wear something different - something not black? Have we not had enough of the ever preeminent black bare shoulder dress? The uniform she deems suitable for every and all occasions! She's a genuine original.

"I love Lindsey. I love him very, very much and I wanted Lindsey to make it and I wanted this album to be as successful as… If this album is more successful than my album, I would be so glad. You know, when "Trouble" (the single from Buckingham’s LP) came out, I was saying, let it go straight to the top. Because it only makes my life easier when Lindsey is happy. ‘Cause when Lindsey is happy, he’s really in a good humor and he’s wonderful and he and I really get along and we’re close. For me, when you love somebody, you want them to be the best."
- Stevie Nicks, 1982
"Lindsey heard Trouble in Shangri-la, and he said, ‘I think it’s the best thing you’ve ever done,’” says Nicks. “That’s about the nicest thing he’s ever said to me. You know, he’s never really acknowledged my solo career. I think maybe he respects me a little more now - maybe he’s finally proud of me."

If she's not involved then there are still so many positives. It will give us all the chance to experience a new dynamic. Most of us love Christine/Lindsey collaborations. A whole albums-worth (or even double albums-worth) would be monumental. I'm betting the stuff they've done sounds great.
Hell, they might not sell that many copies but I'm sure it'd be a terrific album- they could even go chasing a Grammy! Everyone would be lauding their critical success.
In the meantime Stevie records another bargain-bin album, falls out with Dave, sees the error of her ways and comes crawling back.
Pleeeeease Christine my lifelong bestest girlfriend. Pleeeeeeease Lindsey Mr musical genius.

It all comes down to how Stevie sings a song. For instance, Rolling Stone released a video of Stevie singing Gypsy about a week ago from the same video shoot as this freshly released Blue Water clip. I personally think the Gypsy clip was beautiful- she sang very softly from the back of her throat like she used to back in the 70s, and her tone was gorgeous. It's when she pushes her vocals out from her diaphragm (technically the "correct" way to sing) that her voice sounds strained, thin, nasally, shouty, and off-key. If you look at Stevie's most recent album, 24k Gold, there are examples of how her voice can either still be magnificent (All The Beautiful Worlds) or simply dreadful (Lady). She needs to fire her freaking vocal coach. The techniques he taught her destroy everything that is great about her voice.

Stevie will do it, as someone said before I can't see her being the one to f*ck this up. Give them 3 or 4 of your demos (with new vocals of course) and get over your 24K Gold album not being able to be promoted properly and move forward.

Which also runs both ways. My point was that the comment John made about Ledgies automatically disagreeing with Stevie was identical to what Stevie said about herself always disagreeing with Lindsey.

We aren't talking about different things. I just said that the two things were very similar and very subjective.

I agree.I never seen so much hatred on this board "I know it sound to blunt" about Stevie with this album issue.
I defended Stevie's non-committal stance early in the tour because, although 24KG is still clearly a contractual obligation rush job, she didn't want to alienate the label by not doing any promotion for it. Fleetwood Mac could have helped her out more. Having something like "Lady" and/or "Twisted" in the set and selling/promoting 24KG at shows would have been a nice gesture that probably would have made Stevie more enthusiastic about doing more with Fleetwood Mac in the future.
However, it's clear that the promotion phase for 24KG is pretty much over. It's basically sold what it's going to sell. She still has yet to publicly commit to another Fleetwood Mac album, and it's time.
My biggest issue with Stevie is her attitude, at least how it comes across in the two recent interviews. She appears to be very stand-offish. Even though it wasn't directed at the band, the whole "nobody tells me what to do" attitude, the fact she felt compelled to mentioned that Waddy thought it was funny that the RS thing would piss the band off, and constantly bringing up the tensions between her and Lindsey probably best describes what I'm talking about. It all paints a picture that she's the primary source of dysfunction within the band, and is kind of getting off on it. She's comes off as unhappy and kind of enjoys making everyone else unhappy, too.

Your perspective is sadly astute. Stevie thrives on drama, and most of it is negative. Poor Stevie; she's so oppressed! She pathologically references Lindsey, perpetuating a tiresome, prolonged love/hate saga. Lindsey, having evolved and moved on, with his own family (he's family man), likely doesn't have a sliver of the emotional/sentimental investment that Stevie holds on to. That tension is hers alone. It seems so juvenile for Waddy or Stevie to think Fleetwood Mac would be pissed off about the Rolling Stone cover, as if they are jealous children. At this point, I don't think they give a sheet about that, though they might a little peeved about her inexplicable expressions of indecision about the pending album.
She hopped on a year long tour, but she takes issue with a month or two to contribute this historic band's final album? This is very bad timing for selfish diva behavior. One would think she would be less circumspect, and naturally want to show some gratitude for the band that made her rich and famous -- the last opportunity to collaborate and make new music with Christine; the final artifact for fans who have followed them for over forty years.
But she's not like other people, she does what she wants to.

instead of the typical speculation bs that going on ..bombard her "official" face book , website , twitter with the question Are You going to Record with Fleetwood Mac it should get someones attention

WTH does Stevie feel she isn't getting?
I think that ol' devil age is to blame.
You lose your dad, you lose your mom, you lose several of your colleagues, and your brain starts to do weird things (like suddenly remembering incidents decades ago while forgetting what you ate for lunch three hours ago).
The stuff you could easily toss off at age 30 becomes a lot more rankling thirty years on when it happens again.
"I've been tolerating their crap for five years" is a lot different from "I've been tolerating their crap for thirty-five years." The latter makes a stentorian ring in the soul, like an enormous bell.
Your boundaries—the cajolery or mistreatment you agree to tolerate from others—get stronger with age, not weaker. At age 30, you're a lot more likely to look back with self-annoyance at something you grudgingly agreed to than you are at age 60. By that point, very few people are going to do anything they really don't want to do.

Sometimes I look up and make myself remember what I'm wearing today, without looking down.
I used to say, "take that to work with you tomorrow," and I'd remember no problem. Now, I have to start leaving things RIGHT in front of my door if I want to remember to take it out with me.
But certainly I'm at a point where I'm going to take a lot less guff from anyone. I just don't care anymore and I can understand Stevie feeling that way too, but instead of playing games she should just walk away. As you get older, most people are LESS inclined to play games than they were 35 years ago, but Stevie seems more so. She's giving the same baiting interviews that she was giving in the eighties. And yes, Mick and Lindsey still talk to her in the media as well.
I'm not surprised that they're fed up with each other. I am surprised that they're still acting this way. It should be easier to walk away now than it was then.

that's what Karen's there for…. I recall reading in various interviews of the last decade or so: Stevie couldn't remember how to turn the disco ball on -- "Karen!!" Another time with another journalist she couldn't remember how to turn her projector tv on -- "Karen!!" In the SYW doc she was fiddling with the singing fish and there's Karen hovering literally ready to jump in and take over.
Don't be surprised when Stevie finally departs this earth and her will is unveiled…. everything is left to Karen…. "Just sign this document, here, Stevie…oh, it's nothing, just an autograph for a fan……":eek::sorry:

Lord, the staircase closest to my front door, is my "next day spot". Third step! If it's lying there, it's my "must take" collection for the next day.
And David is right. I've lost both my parents, and it's just me now, and I've been through enough relationships....I'm more selfish now. Not with material things...but with ME. If I don't wanna do it, I'm NOT going to do it. A decent "acquaintance friend" invited me to her wedding, a few months ago. I did feel badly for not attending, but know what? I'd already been to two weddings in the previous months, and I just didn't want to go! The end. lol
Stevie will always play the game, and never walk away, because she's addicted to fame, more than any of them(Mick is #2). She really eats it up, and walking away would severely dry up the fame teat, regardless of how much bank she has.

Unless something has changed, Lindsey travels with recording equipment. If Stevie gave him her demos before they left, he could be working on arrangements while on the road so that they could go in and finish the album in a week during that month off between legs in April/May. The album would hit the stores by September/October. It could be done pretty easily.

Stevie got her 24K done in no time.Leave the BS bickering and song crafting aside and get it done.
The bulk of the recording is mostly done.Right.
If Stevie only has 3 to 4 song to do plus add her oohs and ahhhs to the already done tunes. It should get done .
It appears they have over a month and a half off between shows where they could record.
After their 4/11 show in Las Vegas, they are off until 5/27 where they'll be in the UK.

How's about shutting the hell up with the press about how much you don't like Lindsey, get off your lazy ass, and write three effing songs. Good Lord, in the time you spent bitching about Lindsey, you could've had your contributions to the new Fleetwood Mac album completed.

Just enough time for Stevie to record SFTV part Deux. If she hurries she could beat the Grammy deadline and have possibly 2 records eligible for nomination.

Didn't say she had to. I said she can't. Frankly, she has nothing to contribute. The only reason she can hold the band hostage is because a long time ago she became the face of the band to the fans, and the rest of the band sees their bank accounts shrinking at the prospect of carrying on without her. Sadly, she is the least talented member.

of course that's a matter of opinion, and everyone is welcome to their own opinions.
but a fact is that Stevie *is* the most commercial of them all and can sell a lot of tickets. You may believe commercialism is overrated, and you may prefer one of the other members, all well and good, but from a business angle, she still gets the most bums in seats as they say. As many as all 5? -- obviously not. But realistically, the most of any of the 3 singers/writers.:sorry:

I think its flat out wrong to assert Nicks can't write a decent song anymore. Her songwriting has really rebounded since the nadir of the Street Angel days. "Trouble In Shangri-La", "Love Is", "Fall From Grace", "Bombay Sapphires", "Say You Will", "Thrown Down", "Destiny Rules", "Illume", "Space Needle", are all excellent songs and are all recent compositions. She went on a tangent writing songs with Dave Stewart for In Your Dreams, and she had limited time so she went with developing demos for 24 Karat Gold, but she obviously can still write very good songs.

For Stevie, it's all about the production. I think both she and the band are trying to figure out what they want, and that's where they disagree. There's no doubt they can crank out songs...but what really makes the songs work is how they sound and the overall sound they are going for. I feel that hasn't gelled 100% in a long time.

Right, and all the fans here who keep holding their collective breaths for the band to release new music should rue the day she ever became so successful. Her success doomed the band.
I frankly couldn't care less if FM records ever again, and I don't go to their nostalgia shows because I'd rather hear fresh music, especially if I'm expected to pay a couple hundred dollars for a ticket. I just wish they would end this dance so Lindsey can go back to his solo career and put out music that is far more interesting and gratifying than what this band is likely to produce. If the four-song EP is any indication of the quality of music FM would release in a new album, I would definitely pass.
Overall, this is just such a waste of time. Here you have one of the least prolific, yet famous, bands of all time unable to put out new music -- a band that has inspired countless others and is often held up as a significant contributor to the history of rock. If this is how FM goes out, it's so terribly pathetic and sad. And it's all Stevie's fault.

Even if any of those songs were at the level of Sara, Dreams or Landslide -- which they are not -- they are still more than a decade old. My contention is that right now Stevie can't write a decent song. There's no shame in that. Some writers have brilliant output until their dying breath, while others fade after a burst of brillance. You people on this board act like you speak to the members of the band on an ongoing basis. How do you know she hasn't written an awesome song in the last couple of months? And as far as everything being Stevie's fault...you are probably right. She is the main reason they are still touring and making millions of dollars. If they didn't have that, Lindsey Buckingham (who most everyone I know thinks is a pompous ass and cant handle when anyone else in the band is the center of attention) wouldn't be able to even put out that music. He wouldn't the money or the backing without all this touring with FM. I hope Stevie does walk away from this band...just to give you people what you supposedly want. Remember when Warner Brothers gave Stevie a record deal but told LB they were not interested in his songs but maybe he could put them on the next FM record
If FM had broken up or Stevie had walked away during the "Rumours" days LB probably would have been replaced or quit just like the many before or after him and the name "Lindsey Buckingham" would be a long forgotten side note in the history of FM. Hard to say. Lindsey could have had a successful career as a producer. He was sought out by a number of artists at the time. He might have joined a band with the kind of music he was more interested in doing at the time. Or he might well have found his right place to fade.
Stevie might or might not have had a successful solo career. If she hadn't teamed up with Jimmy Iovine, and instead some sycophantic producer, it could have all gone very differently. Jimmy kept her grounded. She was just lucky that early on she happened to sleep with two great producers -- Lindsey and Jimmy -- who had great instincts for her song sketches. But it's all speculation. Who knows what would have happened?

You're exactly right. What if's will always go the way of the fan's "agenda".

You got that right.FM were just here in 2013.They have no new music to promote,so why else would they be touring? And they should be ashamed of themselves if putting the bimbos up front was their idea b/c it shows nothing but disrespect to the REAL fans who paid out the ass to see a show consisting of the same selist as last year except for Chris's songs.I still can't figure out why I love them so damn much. They're a bunch of crazy, mixed up,dysfunctional, and last but not least, ungrateful people. The same goes for their management:mad:.But at the same time,we can't NOT go to one of their shows when they're in town.Anyone interested in group therapy?;)

Right. And let's not forget what she told Jimmy when she teamed up with him. She wanted to sound like Tom Petty, who was becoming wildly popular. Even that instruction to Jimmy seems to have been a calculated move for commercial reasons. Regardless, Bella Donna is an excellent record and, to me, still her best.

See, that's where I differ with a lot of fans. I will not pay to see a nostalgia show. The last FM show I saw was in 2005 or 2006. I've seen Lindsey on every tour except One Man Show -- and I sat that out for the same reasons: Give me something new or stay off the stage.

Most bands /artists hire producers because they want a certain sound. Why is Stevie any different?
Fleetwood Mac dared to be creative once after "Rumours" (Tusk) and when it wasn't instantly successful they ran back to the glossy/slick Rumours "Cash cow"sound/production and have not strayed far from it for the past 32 years.

If you are looking for the producer to give your sound, you're probably doing something wrong. If you think a certain producer is the best fit for what you are trying to create, based on your sound and the producer's past work, that makes sense.
Tusk would have been a huge success for most bands. It's not true that FM hasn't been experimental since Tusk. Say You Will actually has some flashes of experimental bliss; it's just too bad the record as a whole was inconsistent.

What a flop!!!
Five or six years earlier, it would have blown their minds.
Trust me, if Stevie f*cks up this reunion studio album I will join you in the Stevie Nicks bashing. Even though she is my favorite member, I would still prefer another FM studio album over another Stevie solo album. I really want to hear the new Christine recordings more than anything else.
I would be more than happy with this album if it was comprised of 6 new songs by McVie, 4 new songs by Buckingham, and 2 new songs by Nicks.
As long as this album comes out!

Count me in for group therapy!
When it became known that Christine had rejoined, and they were working on new songs, I reasonably assumed they would spend about six months or so to make and release an album, then do a tour. Perhaps Stevie would be more amiable to the album if she was given a window of time to promote her own album. Also, it would allow to assimilate into a lifestyle that she had not lived for a very long time.
Instead, in a very crass financially-motivated move, they booked a massive, two year world-wide tour, not very long after their last cash-grab tour. I wonder who championed this idea; Perhaps their management? Maybe Mick?
Great shows, but fleeting moments compared to the lasting impact of a final album of new music. I have faith that the album will happen. But if doesn't, I think that's the last hurrah for the band. The only thing fans may have to look forward to is a CD/DVD package of the tour, which would be welcome, but nothing other than the same old same old. Perhaps yet another Rumours release! Yawn.

For Stevie, it's all about the production. I feel that hasn't gelled 100% in a long time.
With Lindsey at the helm, their five signature albums from 1975- 1987 gelled. Say You Will is the only other album he made with Fleetwood Mac, sixteen years later. Being that is was the first band album without Christine, it was essentially a Buckingham Nicks album with Mick and John being their rhythm section.
His production style had changed, so the album only has glimmers of the established Rumours-era sound. It's a different animal, but not an unprecedented contrast in the history of the band. Consider that drastic change of style between Then Play On & Kiln House, or Heroes Are Hard to Find & Fleetwood Mac.
Some theorize that Stevie was unhappy with how he produced her Say You Will songs. I think it has less to do with that, more to do with her contentious relationship with him. Stevie was in a gloomy mood then, dealing with the death of her mother. Lindsey's production style isn't stuck in Say You Will mode. The production on his duet with Stevie on Twisted gelled as song with a classic Fleetwood Mac feel. Stevie owes a lot to Lindsey for her success. And she should pull the stick out of her ass and inconvenience her precious self to take part in the final chapter of Fleetwood Mac. This is not the time to play the diva card. Grow up.

So Stevie was unhappy during SYW because her mother died??? Her father passed in 2005 and her mother passed in 2011 so I guess that theory is ( cue the "Starshine" music) WRONG!
I think bethelblues is saying that the direction LB wants the songs to go in versus the direction Stevie wants her songs to go in has not "gelled" in a long time and this may be close to the root of the problem. It may also be more than the LB production of her songs that she is unhappy with she may just not like the influence LB will have as a musician playing on her songs any more. Maybe she's tired of the LB sound and his domination of her songs. If Lindsey would just simplify things and rock out once in a while like he used to.( An excerpt from the 17 Reasons This 'Rhiannon' Clip Is the Coolest Thing in the Universe thread "And Lindsey playing the Les Paul sounds so much more rocking than his Turner") Is LB capable of just playing the part and making Stevie happy or does his ego get in the way? Why does LB always have to be in charge? They're Stevie's songs why can't she have them turn out the way she want's with out a WWIII protest from LB? As you have pointed out "Consider that drastic change of style between Then Play On & Kiln House, or Heroes Are Hard to Find & Fleetwood Mac" so change is nothing new to this band so why not let her shake things up a bit?
And sorry but if Stevie is standing up for her songs from a creative standpoint then she's not a diva.
If Stevie wants nothing to do with LB being involved with her songs and is refusing to work with him in the FM environment period then that is a major problem.
As a business man and co-owner of the Fleetwood Mac corporate empire I don't think there is any chance of Mick parting ways with Stevie and giving up a substantial portion of his future income just to get one last record out.
If the new album becomes a major wall between Stevie and LB and it were to get to the point of one of them saying "Either he/she goes or I go" which one will Mick choose?
Whatever happens it will be fun to watch.

If she doesn't want Lindsey to play on her songs anymore, she can't stay in the band. That's obvious. Or, as you pointed out, he has to go. At this point it seems more likely Stevie would be the one to go. She isn't just alienating Lindsey; it appears it's Stevie against the band at this point.
As for SYW production, it's clear Lindsey took the reins in some songs, but in others it's also very clear he did what she wanted. Examples of the latter would be the atrocious Running through the Garden and Silver Girl, which sound like the worst of 80s production. Even Say You Will, which is a decent song, also seems to have been produced to Stevie's specs. I believe you err in putting all the production blame on Lindsey. He seems to have acquiesced quite a bit. And I think it's as a result of that that the album is inconsistent. Unlike Tusk, where the differences in style actually work in a weird way, in SYW they don't. The album has some flashes of brilliance but it's overall inconsistent and somewhat deflating.
I agree with you, however, that Lindsey should scale back the studio tricks and deliver a more organic sound. I've been clamoring for that on these boards for a while. To me, as much as I hate to admit it, the best production I've heard on Lindsey songs for a number of years was on the This Is 40 tracks: clean, crips sounds free of the burden of studio trickery. I'd love to see more of that.

You can only do so much with her range and the tone quality of her voice. I listen to IYD and her voice is so nasal, like on Silver Girl. Don't blame the producer.

Here's what I've been saying for a decade now- Christine was the vital bridge between Lindsey's esoteric sonic musings, and Stevie's wandering mystical ramblings. Christine's razor sharp pop sensibilities not only reign in Buckingham & Nicks' musical eccentricities into a more palatable form, but she also bridges the musical gap in between their respective offerings with her own songs. If Stevie is hesitant to record with FM this time around she needs to remember that it was Christine who made FM gel, and that she's back now. Chris not only served as a musical buffer between those two, but also a psychological one as well.
Thank you! I am so tired of the ageist nonsense on the board, all these young people on the board assuming that, because the musicians are in their 60s and 70s, they are doddering old people with little or no future potential. Have the Macsters been doddering on this tour? Not exactly!
I've been saying the same thing for years. There are so many veteran artists who are so much older than our Macsters, and are out on the road tearing it up. Pete Seger was still performing into his 90s. Though it sounds like his health may have finally gotten the better of him, BB King toured until about 90. Wanda Jackson is pushing 80 and still going strong. There are many more examples, but the point is there are many artists who don't let age slow them down.
However, I think if the band dissolves, it won't be due to age. At some point I suspect the tension between Lindsey and Stevie will get to the point where everyone involved throws in the towel. After all, who wants to spend their twilight years being angry or surrounded by hopelessly dysfunctional people? After all, John (for instance) could say screw this drama, after cancer and being surrounded by these two bickering drama queens for 40 years, I'm going to spend my golden years with my wife, daughter, and sailboat. :p
That brings me around to another point as well, though. I really don't see Stevie ever being the one to pull the plug for that exact reason. She has no significant other, no children, and her parents are gone. Whether she wants to admit it or not, FM & it's larger cast of characters is her family. It's all she has. As much as she loves to carry on about Lindsey in the press, she wouldn't know what to do with herself without the FM extended family. Not to mention she thrives off the drama and excitement. ;)

I think Stevie would have to be away from FM for awhile though before she realizes this.
I mean, I think Christine did see this, even though she has brothers, nieces and nephews. She left FM to finally be able to spend time with her family when, in reality, FM had become her de facto family. She knew this long ago when she said she was closer to Amy and Lucy than to her own blood relations, but I think she thought she could retire and form the bonds that had been neglected when she was touring so much over the decades and she couldn't. I don't mean with her brother John. She doesn't need to be near him to be tied to him, but I do think she didn't feel as close to the other family members as she thought she would, once she got off the road.
John said that the were like brothers and sisters. I think when they make comments like that, people write them off as if they are trying to sound loving. But I don't think they are. You don't always love your siblings or get along with them, but you can't easily get away.
Lindsey said in the SYW program that he'd shared things with FM that he hadn't shared with anyone except his family -- and sometimes he'd shared more with FM than he had with his family and he didn't say that in a cuddly, warm way necessarily. It's just fact. Good, bad or indifferent. You are saddled with these other guys. Albatross.

Exactly. I've said this before, they are like each other's crazy, pain-in-the-a$$ relatives, and often their reaction is like the "oh my god Aunt Tilly's going to be there at Christmas and I'm going to have to put up with her boring stories about her poodle" etc etc etc.
I loved Tom Petty's quote in the RS article on Stevie, where he said they get grumpy with each other when they realize they are joined at the hip and will have to keep working together-- because the truth is we are most interested in them when they are all together rather than solo. Spot on.
I think Lindsey has made his peace with this and accepted it for what it is. He still wants artistic growth for FM but he has accepted that his own personal *real* growth will come in his solo career, and that the compromise required to be in a band will mean he can't hope to reach the same levels of growth and experimentation. And he's worked thru it and come out on the side of being ok with it.
So clearly has Chris, if she ever really had a problem with it at all (which it doesn't seem she has).
Stevie, on the other hand, seems to have moved from a position of swallowing some of the sh*t required to be in a band to totally resenting it and not wanting to have to compromise at all. She got a taste of getting everything her way in her solo career and for whatever reason, justified or not, she seems to have reached a point where the benefit of the compromise (at least in the studio) is less appealing than it used to be.
How they will resolve this is the big mystery. Who will shift position enough to make it all work? Stevie seems to be throwing down the gauntlet to say "It won't be me" with all her "no one has the balls to tell me what to do" blather. How much more can LB bend for her?? How much more does she WANT him to bend? I think he's not above using the media to create impressions and send messages either, and he seems to be going out of his way to put out in the press that he's all for an album and he's open to whatever compromises that might take so that if it doesn't happen, no one can point the finger at him. He has to walk a fine line between distancing himself from her antics and pissing her off more…. until she signs on he can't give her reason to say it was all his fault.
Drama.

If there is a difference between what Stevie wants and what the band wants, what is it all about? Production? I doubt it. More likely, money and some measure of control. Stevie may be holding out for the lion's share of any royalties, and dibs on what singles might be released.

Stevie has family: her brother Chris, sister-in-law Lori and niece Jessica, plus lots of other family in Phoenix and Colorado. Fleetwood Mac is special and will always have a place in all of their lives but please don't make Stevie sound like she's an abandoned orphan. She's always been surrounded by close friends and goes home to Phoenix whenever possible.
I think it's more likely that she wants to see how she feels at the end of the tour: if she wants to take a break to relax after all of the work the last few years or if she wants to get away from Lindsey (really good chance, especially after having to see him interact with all these girls at the stage; don't think for a moment that she's not noticing. She's just too professional to show it onstage). She also was scheduled to tour with 24K and most likely plans to pursue that before doing anything else with FM after this world-wide tour is over (which they all knew when she got talked into going back on the road with them). When she's ready, she will record with them. If everyone pushes her, she was raised by her mother to stand up for herself and she will fight back. She's 66 and the sudden loss of her mother is probably a wake-up call. Also, she may very well want to take some extended time to go home to Phoenix to spend time with her family because of Chris's illness--especially since both Stevie and Lori have been away from him all this time. So, how about giving her some space and trust that when she's ready, she will contribute to the album?

I thought Chris and Lori divorced.
They are, although Lori said that he was still "family" a few years ago. Anyway, I think he finished battling his cancer years ago. Michele

Note from Lori - November 8th, 2009:
"Well... hello everyone!! Again, I'd like to post a quick note to all....
It seems that Christopher's illness was of concern to many of you... and so I want to give you all an update....
Christopher has beaten the dreaded Cancer... he is doing well, and back to his crotchety old self... lol! He was very lucky, and due to his general good health, and his young age (?!!), he has bounced back better than the docs expected... (however I don't think any of us who knows him was surprised at all)!!!!
I have passed along to him all of your best wishes and prayers... he is very greatful, but says for you all to know that it will take something worse than that to take him down!!!!
There is one more thing, Christopher does want you all to know this: He had Bladder Cancer... it was absolutely caused by smoking! He is the last person on this planet ever to preach... but he wants everyone to know, because he didn't...
SMOKING CAUSED HIS CANCER!!!! I think that says it all.....
I trust that you will all understand if I don't personally thank you each, or comment to all of your well-wishing... but know that it is appreciated by Christopher and his entire family, more than we could ever say!!
Much love to all"

Yeah, I guess it was brought up again because Rolling Stone did so:
"It’s the day after the Anaheim show, and Nicks has some errands to run at the big house before heading off to the next concert, in Arizona. There, she’ll have a chance to see her brother, who recently recovered from bladder cancer."

Actually, a recent study (http://time.com/3651785/cancer-bad-luck/) suggests most cancers were mutations in stem cells that could not be prevented.

The rock icon shows no signs of stopping any time soon. With a slew of tour dates with Fleetwood Mac, as well as her own album to promote, she is one busy lady.
Planning a new album with Fleetwood Mac, as well as a tour for her own latest release, life and career are once again fantastic for Rock's Chief Sorceress.

After seeing those Pollstar numbers in Michele's thread as the bucks come in.Some probably saying or thinking why bother recording a new album for a few 1000 true fans and some music lovers.
Thanks Nick for the story.I agree 100 percent .God willing .The Mac train will chug along as they are at full steam and Stevie will be doing the same.

I guess I'm too tied to indie, but who cares about sales at this point? Isn't the point to make art for art's sake, especially at this stage in their career?

Well for some fans, that's they only way to argue Stevie's existence in popularity or sales. So, even if you love Stevie's music, but don't like her immature, ego driven, megalomania; you are going to have people excuse the behavior because she's popular, or they dress like her, or they want to be her.
Her art with Fleetwood Mac is superb. Her solo work is good at best. Bella Donna and Wild Heart will always be close to my heart, but it's always been spotty after that. And these new Rolling Stone covers with her on piano are giving me seizures. Maybe if she had a decent accompaniment, she could focus on the tone quality. But her on piano.. ee gads... :sorry:

Totally agree about the FM vs. solo work, and ESPECIALLY about the piano playing solos lately. Holy ****e, they are scary bad.

Her Rhiannon performance on American Horror Story was, well, an American horror story in its own right. I give her props for trying to keep herself relevant but the best way to do this is to write NEW music and stay aware of one's limitations--i.e., keep her AWAY from the piano.

Stevie obviously has a great musical ear,I mean, when one sense fails it enhances the others(her eyesight sucks). My point is that she has to know that her piano abilities are subpar. But I really believe that her "ego's mind" has convinced her that she is truly talented in that department.Like she can't even entertain the thought of something that she does being less than "fantastic".Good thing this is nearing the close of her career because her ego is her own worst enemy and would be her downfall if her career was just starting out IMO:sorry:I still can't get over her change in personality in recent years as compared to earlier in her career.Isn't it usually the other way around?Doesn't a major change usually happen when they first get rich and famous but then after the novelty wears off they come back down to earth?

It's like someone told her that her piano playing was OK and she took it to heart. Maybe Dave Stewart.

Well, when she does something that used to make her self-conscious and decides that she doesn't care, be it playing the piano or wearing flat shoes on stage, I applaud it.
I actually think her ego problems (which seem to be growing, rather than diminishing over time) lie in the opposite direction.

Stevie is not trying to impress anyone with her musical skills but rather give her fans ( and not the bucky heads who are always complaining about her anyways) a glimpse at what these songs sound like when they are written.
As far as Stevie's attitude goes she should have adopted this outlook years ago. I think she has gotten to the point age wise where doesn't have the time to compromise now and regret it later.

I'm convinced even more now that she seriously needs help making music out of her raw material.

TO me, it feels like a resentment that's grown over the last ~40 years toward the band and (especially Lindsey) that she can do it without them. A weird place to be at her age. Especially, since she's already proven that she can. Now that Christine is back, perhaps it triggers even more of that resentment. 70% of an album with Buckingham/McVie singing and writing might have triggered it, too.

It's called KARMA...Since Stevie joined the band they have made her feel like an outsider and at times only had her around when it was necessary/profitable so I find the fact that FM and in particular LB are now seemingly "bending over backwards" to get her involved and Stevie seems to be "Not interested" somewhat humorous.

Huh? Like she didn't/doesn't profit from being in the band? They gave her a platform to become a star in the first place.
Exactly how did they make her feel like an outsider? It's amazing how somebody who isn't treating the band as a major priority herself "feels like an outsider." If anything, they were frustrated by her lack of availablity in the studio in all of the albums post-Tusk. And let's face it, the song she's given the band from 1987 onward haven't exactly been anywhere close to her best work with Fleetwood Mac. "Gypsy" was really her last great song that she wrote for Fleetwood Mac. That was 33 years ago.

In a similar reversal of roles I find it particularly humorous that for years Stevie didn't say very much onstage and Lindsey would ramble on and on…while Stevie stood off to the side of the stage rolling her eyes. She'd even comment in interviews that she thought he talked way too much onstage and people were there to hear the music and not talking.
Now another instance where the tables have turned and he's toned he's blather way down (at Mac shows) compared to the past and Stevie, miss "no one's here to listen to us talk" yaps on and on and on onstage.
So typically FM… what we say/do today may be the complete oppose of what we say/do tomorrow. Stay tuned!

People are always so quick to compare the success of Stevie's solo career to FM...Does that same standard apply to LB??? Because if it does then Stevie is far ahead of LB. How many of LB's records come close to selling as many as a FM record??? "Bella Donna" and "Wild Heart" had sales rivaling "tusk "mirage" and "tango". Have any of LB's records done that?
