Favourite lyric:
He was singing
And undoing
The laces
Undoing the laces
If I was Stevie for a day:
A day isn't enough time to write my autobiography, so that has to wait till I'm Stevie for a Year!!
So with my day, I would shout on Karen and tell her to book me a solo gig in the UK, but remember to check with Jellyman10 on available dates first. :D

Question #24: If you could rewrite a line, what would it be?
It would be the "high fashion" line from Cheaper Than Free because my husband makes fun of it every time he hears it! I have no idea what I would change it to, though.

"The Forgotten Chimpanzee..."
I know it works for the song but everytime I heard it, I start laughing, I just can't help it. It really cracks me up.

I wouldn't rewrite a line I would have someone else produce "I still miss someone". That is such a beautiful song and Stevie's version is just terrible

Question #25: Favorite Album?
Blueletter18
10-05-2011, 05:24 PM
So tough...has to be Bella Donna, although The Wild Heart is a very, very close second. The Wild Heart is my go to album when I'm in a bad mood or when i'm frustrated with something, but Bella Donna is pure beauty, absolute perfection.

this question has been asked and asked so many times and I'm still conflicted.. I love Bella Donna but it seems more dated...while The Wild Heart still sounds as current today as it did twenty years ago....Now IYD has come along and complicated matters...I really love this new album but I think that Wild Heart will remain my all time favorite...However, I have to say if Cheaper than Free and Everybody Loves You had not appeared on IYD it might have been my favorite album

25 I think overall, I prefer The Wild Heart, although it's really tight between Bella Donna and IYD for a really close 2nd place.

Question #26: Did Stevie & Lindsey get back together during The Dance?
jellyman10
10-06-2011, 06:12 AM
Rewrite a line:
I'd change 'And if I was a child/and the child was enough/enough for me to love' from Gypsy. I'd make it read 'if I had a child', because then it makes sense. I also think it's what she actually wrote and then chickened out of leaving in the song. ;)
Favourite album:
It's between Wild Heart and In Your Dreams. My love for WH has lasted nearly three decades. I don't know if my love for IYD will last as long. I'll go WH, because of the title track and Nightbird.
Did they get back together during the Dance:
I think they dipped their toes in the water and that, realistically, they could never have put that relationship back together in any kind of healthy, longlasting way. However, I also think that Kristen got pregnant before S&L had actually come to a decision one way or the other. That was his 'fall from grace': he was sleeping with K while claiming to be serious about reconciling with Stevie.

Question #25: Favorite Album?
At the moment, In Your Dreams is my favorite, because I love how Stevie is now - happy and healthy and calm, and I think the wisdom she's gained from everything she's been through really comes through on the album in a beautiful way. I'll always love Bella Donna and everything else, of course, but In Your Dreams is pretty special.

Question #25: Favorite Album?
Probably Bella Donna, if I had to pick.
Question #26: Did Stevie & Lindsey get back together during The Dance?
I definitely think that was some form of emotional / romantic reconciliation, some testing of the waters, and at the very least talks of getting back together, if nothing else.
Question #27: The song you think is most revealing?
Gypsy.
Question #28: The song that you blast with the windows down?
Stand Back, E017, I Can't Wait, Talk To Me, Planets, Secret Love.

Question #29: Sharon or Lori?
jellyman10
10-11-2011, 06:58 AM
Sharon or Lori:
I wish we knew them a bit better. They both seem like really lovely people, as well as talented in their own right and yet happy to be somewhat in the background. They've been on an amazing journey with Stevie all these years. My ultimate fantasy would be to hang out with all three of them for a day. They seem to laugh a lot!
Nope, I can't choose. They're both aces in my book. :D

Question #30: Why do you LOVE this woman????
She's a superhero for misunderstood girls (and boys) everywhere!! ;) Seriously, though, I love her music of course, but I also love her because she's an interesting and inspiring person. I love that she's always been true to who she is, and that she's talked about the mistakes she's made and what she's had to do to get her life back on track. I love that so many people relate to her music, and that there is always a thread of hopefulness running through everything. I love that even though she's experienced loss and emotional devastation in lots of different forms, she continues to approach the world with such love and grace and gratitude. I admire those qualities, and try to incorporate them more in my own life. Also, I think that it says a lot that her fans are so fun and positive and awesome - I haven't gotten to meet any of you Ledgies yet, but I can tell from what you write that you're a great group of people, and I look forward to getting to know you better. :)

Question #30: Why do you LOVE this woman????
Although I still enjoy a lot of her music, I sometimes think I've heard it all so often at this point that it bypasses my ears and goes straight to my bones. It feels like part of me. Corny, but there ya go.
The main reason I love Stevie these days is because I think she's just a brilliant role model for any artist who gets hung up on product rather than learning to trust their process. She exemplifies the importance of doing the thing that you believe you're on this planet to do. And if you can make people happy in the process ... well, you really have 'won the game'.
Also, just get the feeling she's a special soul.

Question #30: Why do you LOVE this woman????
Stevie is someone who is truly one of a kind. She has touched so many people and continued to love and live her life how she wants to, regardless of what she has had to go through. Her voice has a power and accessibility that is breathtaking. She never stopped being HER, even though such worldwide fame would have changed most people for the worst. She is also a very strong individual, overcoming addiction and loss. Through it all, she remains "gracious" and sincere, and it seems like she doesn't judge anyone and believes that everyone has a place in this world. Her music is incredible, obviously, and it always gives me hope. I love that her voice is not the stereotypical singer's voice, but it has character and raw emotion. The span of her career and her versatility as a singer is amazing. How can one person have lived through so much and have written and recorded SO many GREAT songs?? When i really "think about it" lol, I am just in awe.

For sure- I like one of her quotes where she says she has had many previous lives and come back (like reincarnation), but that she thinks this is her last time around, because she achieved her puropse on Earth.

yups...that about says it all! I agree with all these points...
I would also add that she seems to stay close to the mystery of love...in advancing years it seems people distance themselves from all the fun and saddness of love...maybe they just get jaded or harden but Stevie is still like a school girl in her passion for romance and love...i like that!!
