Ugh... another date in the middle of nowhere on a weeknight. But I am actually a little bit impressed that she isn't going to Turning Stone (which is in a similar upstate nether-region); I'm sure she had the option to play there. But perhaps she is finally going to try to avoid casinos! It will be interesting how well she can draw a crowd a week before Labor Day when many people are already on vacation or staying at the shore. Saratoga is not exactly the Jersey Shore!

Hate to be a naysayer but one date does not a tour make. Thrilled for people who can make this but until she announces a full scchedule, all at once, I will not be holding my breath, or saving my £ for dates that may appear in dribs and drabs.

I really don't get this thing that Stevie does of announcing one date here and there. If this is a one off date then fuine, but if it is a tour then why do it like this?? I've never known anyone do this before - it's infuriating!

Must be a Fleetwood Mac thing because Lindsey does this too. We are waiting for dates to be announced for his tour and they keep coming in dribs and drabs. Like you said...infuriating for people trying to plan trips.

This is not in the middle of nowhere. It is in the heart of Saratoga Springs in the middle of track season. She has played here many times. There were 40k in attendance for the Rumours tour! Soooo excited!!!!

True dat. But I would be perfectly happy if she just did a bunch of dates in the Northeast and nothing else. :p

The mind boggles where else she will be playing during this timeframe. The Borgata? Mohegan Sun? Sovereign Center (Reading, PA)? Radio City Music Hall? I would love it if she did some really out of the way places like the Oakdale Theatre or the Westhampton PAC... but those are probably too small.

Hey, I grew up in Scotia. Still have family in Burnt Hills. Saw Stevie up at SPAC in '89. Surprised she's doing a show there. If I recall, she hasn't performed there since. Was supposed to in 1994 but there was a bad storm that day and the show was cancelled.

LMAO. I need that emoticon stamped across my forehead.

Heres hoping that this Saratoga announcement is a promising sign that Stevie will shortly announce some concert dates late summer Aug-Sept across the country soon. SPAC has a seating capacity of @25K  I wonder if she's bringing along a very special guest;)
I'm highly anticipating (finger crossed) a Red Rocks concert date announced for Aug or Sept. esp. since the H&S tour skipped the Denver market and Stevie solo concerts have always sold well here. Red Rocks amphitheater has a capacity of @10K. Stevie practically sold out her concerts here in 05' & 07" and has not been back since the Unleased Tour in 09' at the Pepsi Center Arena.

Yikes, that is a lot. Even $45 for lawn seats seems a bit dear. Considering it's a weeknight, I would be shocked if this thing sells out.

BTW, hotels are expensive!

Stevie has no control over venue choice and she doesn't set ticket price.

Live Nation and AEG control the touring business, they own the venus, the ticketing agenices. They dictate everything. Moreso than ever, even the biggest "stars' are simply employees of corporate giants.

Even the Attn. General tried to block Live Nation - which also owns a piece of the world's largest artist representation firm - from purchasing Ticketmaster because of the monopoly the merger created. Consumers (ticket buyers ) and talent have fewer options than ever before.

I'm hoping for this as well, as is my friend who works the celebrity catering gigs at Red Rocks and Fidler's Green.

But, I'll only purchase tickets and go if there are ample additions to the setlist from In Your Dreams.

Why, would you criticize Stevie for choosing this location, (ie, "middle of nowhere on a week night", ???),

just because its not within a one hour drive of your residence, does not mean it is not an acceptable location to some the other inhabitants of this planet,

as for the Casino Circuit;

Stevie is not the only one who likes these venues, it just seems like a strange statement for someone who followed FM all the way to NZ for the 2009 Unleashed Tour.

I saw her there for Timespace, so I don't think that one was canceled. I do remember the Street Angel show getting canceled because of the huge storm. If I remember correctly it was the only time in SPAC history that they, not the artist, were forced to cancel a show. Lots of huge trees came down in the park because of the straight line winds that day.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing her there again! I used to love going to SPAC for shows. The surroundings are beautiful, and if you just want to hear a show, you don't even have to pay, you can just bring a picnic and sit near the theater and still hear everything!

That's what I did for No Doubt at Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix in the 1990's. Unfortunately with Stevie you really have to see her as well as hear her, so sitting outside the venue would be difficult. Then again, what's cheaper than free?

I almost had to sit outside looking in at the parkinglot at the Comcast theatre in Mansfield because I was so slow in ordering tickets for the Tom Petty show in 2006 .The show was sold out and luckly I took a chance with a scalped ticket and got in.

I saw her at SPAC on the Timespace tour, I'm pretty sure - 1994? It was a zombie show.

I love SPAC - it's such an amazing, beautiful outdoor venue. The only drawback is that the acoustics in the shed kind of suck. Still...I might go to my first Stevie show since Enchanted Tour. :)

Great news and such a beautiful town ... one of my very favorites :blob1: Great food, jazz clubs, mineral baths & massages, B&B's, horse racing ...Very much worth the trip and visit if you can fit it in -- Lake George within easy access might have better rates! Right next door they had the state run "baths" where little old ladies would wrap you in warmed sheets after a soak in the mineral baths before the massage -- one told me once she'd seen 'em all -- those stars who'd come to town-- "moles and all", ha.. closed that down when the Gideon Putnam took it over for ten times the price! First had tix there in 90 for FM but it was cancelled due to Christine's father's death, then Stevie in 91, great stage for her stuff, Rooms on Fire particularly great! In 94, she had to get off the stage at soundcheck cuz of lightning -- we cried waving bye to her bus! I remember twirling in the windy storm at the campground to "Listen to the Rain" ..later, 50 foot diameter craters in the park where huge maples and pines went down -- scary really! Lots of great dance and music there of all kinds! Hope this is the first of a set of dates that will showcase this great new music! Can't wait ...now I just need to get a sub for the first flippin' day of classes :)

I'm wondering if this SPAC show could be something of a litmus test for concert promoters (Live Nation) & Stevie's management. I'm sure they will be watching initial ticket sales very closely to determine how much market interest there is for a potential solo Stevie Nicks IYD tour & what venues to possibly book her at.

I believe that's exactly what it is. I hope to the ticket gods that it sells. FM canceled Times Union Center in Albany in 2009 because of poor sales. As glad as I am that this date exists, I wish they would have tested in somewhere like Mansfield instead.

Be wary about driving down to the box office. I've had a couple instances when I did that and their computers were slow coming up, meanwhile tickets were selling online. If you do, have ticketmaster on speed dial on your cell phone just in case.

I might be at this show! You, Louie, and I would def have to meet up if we are all there.

That being said, I'm holding off to see if any other dates in Texas are announced. Also, I don't have anyone who would go to the Grand Prairie show with me, so if there are any Ledgies thinking about going but need a concert partner, hit me up and we can buy our tickets together so we can sit together! Lindsey starts his tour in September in MN and then heads to Boston for the 25th.

DARE TO DREAM.

PS I could've sworn I saw a blurb on Facebook or Twitter from Dave saying something like "I wish I could say more. It's not just
the two of us."

I'll keep looking.

Lindsey's tickets are $56 to $109 in Atlanta.

And for Minneapolis there are $204 meet & greet tickets. I think it's a great opportunity, but somehow I get the feeling if Stevie had a $200 meet & greet fee, she'd be called a hooker.

Weird how they change so much from city to city. :confused:I think that in the case of Atlanta and a few other cities, those venues are probably more "classy." Atlanta for example sounds like a place where they perfrom operas and such, whereas Clearwater for example is a smaller street corner type theater.

Edit: nevermind. The ticket prices have p!$$ed me off. Her cheapest seat is still more expensive than Lindsey's priciest. I'd much rather go see Lindsey's show in Dallas in October... I've never seen him in concert, and I've seen Stevie plenty. :)

You think $250 tickets are cheap??

Eww, no. Somebody said $65-$85. For $250, she needs to come to my house and sing. If LB's coming to Dallas, I might do that instead.

No, that's not higher than before. It's still $125, but $143.50 with all of those ridiculous fees tacked on. Ugh. Does anyone else remember the good ol' days before TM was a monopoly and their fees were, like, $1 - $2?

Hi from Madrid, Spain! What would be the best way to travel from NY or Boston to Saratoga? Can you help?

GoldDustOrphan
06-15-2011, 07:46 AM
It's not a new price. The tickets are $125, but like with any Live Nation show there are absurd surcharges.
$45 + 12.85 ($57.85)
$125 + 18.50 ($143.50)

The only way to avoid those additional charges is the buy tickets at the box office.

It is a lovely location; $45 is cheap and $125 as the top ticket is cheaper than the top prices for Britney Spears, $350 Janet Jackson, $150. U2, $275, Peter Gabriel, $165 and that's at first glance.

Unless you're renting a car for the whole trip, a train from NYC is probably your best bet. A one way trip is about 3 1/2 hours and if you buy well in advance it should only cost around $50. Check the Amtrak website (http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/HomePage).

Ah. YES. A date I can possibly go to! This makes me incredibly happy.

Edit: Okay, so I need advice on like how the seating and stuff works here. I've been to see shows there multiple times but I always just got dragged along as a child, I haven't been since I was 12 and I have never purchased tickets myself for the venue. Can anyone give me any like pointers/advice/a rundown of how the seating works in regards to purchasing tickets?

Thank you! I'm sure renting a car would be the best. Anyway, let's see what happens with the whole IYD Tour, maybe she'll do a gig nearest to a city I can easily fly from here (NY, Boston, Washington, Chicago). I tried Dallas, but the flight is way too expensive. Thanks again :xoxo:

When do these ticks go on sale? I'm leaving to stay with my in-laws in TX until after I have the baby, and my father in law is a huge Stevie Nicks fan too, and i'm dying to go. However i'm having the baby at the end of August, and I am not to happy about the tix being almost $300! Seriously? I've been looking them up and can't find them, where's this info coming from?

U2, $275, Peter Gabriel, $165 and that's at first glance. but the closest spot for u2 is 55 for GA and they play much longer and have a bigger production than Stevie.

I love the Woodlands Pavilion too - fingers crossed for a Houston date that same weekend. But yeah, outdoors in Texas in August, mucho caliente, no muy bueno. :distress:

Hopefully, she'll end up at the same, indoors Verizon Theater in Houston where Lindsey's playing. Or better yet, the ACL Theater in Austin!

Now THAT would be awesome....especially since Austin's only an hour away!! The cool thing about Woodlands is that you can hear the whole soundcheck from outside. So awesome. Are you in Austin? Im in San Antonio.

Britney Spears doesn't sing live and is hardly even present during her performances. I saw Janet a few months ago in Boston at a similar price point - there was very little in terms of production and the show wasn't memorable.

If you think all Stevie does is stand in front of a microphone and twist - which is a pretty insulting thing to say about an artist on a site devoted to her - than I don't know how to respond.

It seems I've read elsewhere that Dave has already dove into several other projects, so I doubt he'll be touring with Stevie. Word on the street too is he got stiffed by WB for producing IYD. So I can see why he'd want to focus on other things right now.

Thats what I'm afraid of...well Stevie better play 5-6 new songs (fingers & toes crossed) on this tour. Though Red Rocks is such a magical venue to see any concert much less Stevie Nicks!

Yeah, I've noticed that Dave is a busy man & well onto new projects. He & David Wild rarely tweet about Stevie anymore (though why should they, IYD wrapped a long time ago and is already out & almost off the Top 100) but other than that I haven't heard about being Dave being stiffed by WB. Would probably be a good idea to put all dates/venues in 1 thread rather than have 20something separate threads every time a new show is announced. That's what used to happen here anyway - makes it easier for people to come in & check 1 thread for newly announced shows, rather than dig through the entire forum.

Mods - care to merge all the threads into one?

So what do we have so far? Are all of these confirmed?

Thanks for doing this, Paula. We (mods) were just discussing doing the same thing. It's really going to get out of hand when we have 30-40 threads going on all the various cities Stevie will be hitting this summer. We'll probably merge all the other threads into this one, and incite a Ledgie riot in the process.

Please don't. Yes, there will be an explosion of threads. But people in different cities will be interested in information/discussion that pertains to their local shows. I recall that for the Unleashed tour there were separate threads for each city. I liked it that way. Please.

Agreed. It's easier to see who is going to what city, talk about the individual on-sales, etc.

I also approve of this main thread to see one, centralized spot for all the tour dates.

Let's just leave everything alone.

Oh Wow, this RR concert date could be a mini "Webster Hall drinking crew" reunion if Dani, Grace, Curtis & Ed come on down to the "Mountain City" If y'all make it down we have got to try and get together before the show or during... plus any other willing Ledgies. Party at my house or a hangout near by! I live very close to downtown Denver right between Cheesman Park (an infamous gay park hangout) & Washington Park. It's all good!

I always think of Stevie's song "Alice", when I think about Red Rocks where Stevie not so subtly metaphors her extra-curriculiar vices during her RAL Red Rocks concert.
"Well I heard she flew down to the Mountain City. He said, "That's not what I heard...I hear she went higher".

Nope. They played NYC and Philly, but no AC.

I would be surprised to see an AC date. She is totally oversaturating the NYC market with three shows. But then again, there currently is nothing for Philly, so if she doesn't play at the (insert corporate sponsor name here) Waterfront Entertainment Center in Camden, maybe an AC date will happen.

Um... she's played there plenty of times, and it was pretty filled up back in 2007.

The real mystery for me is whether she will play the Washington, DC market. I don't think she has played there solo since 2005. And that is so bizarre to me because it is a HUGE market and one of the wealthiest areas of the country. Even Lindsey is avoiding DC, only coming as close as Baltimore. And even more bizarre is the fact that Stevie probably goes to DC all the time to visit the soldiers in Bethesda. What gives?

Let's just leave everything alone.

The individual show threads were almost always started after people had tix & tried to set up meet & greets, NOT as soon as shows were announced. I know I'm only 1person & I have no real say here, but I just do not have time to dig through 50 threads trying to find out about newly announced shows every day. I do have time to stop in & check 1 thread.

And I know what you guys are saying about the individual threads - I'd be cool with leaving all the other individual city/show threads as long as people stick to that thread. I don't have the amount of free time I used to & if there end up being 6 threads for each city (1 for the presale, 1 for who got what tix, 1 for meet ups, 1 for reviews, another for photos, etc.) it's going to be really annoying. Again, JMO. I'll live.

I think you're right about DC too. She played in Bristow, VA; that's the last time. She should play Constitution Hall in DC but i guess if she plays down there she'll hit bristow which i think is called jiffy lube live.

The Borgata had an outdoor venue, at one point. FM played there, early SYW. I think they closed it because they were giving the Marina side of AC free entertainment to anyone within listening range;-)

I actually would not call Saratoga Springs part of the NYC market. That is just as much of a schlepp as Boston (for us non-drivers). And, hey, when did oversaturation ever come into play with anything Stevie/FM/even Lindsey-related?

Interesting. Usually @ the 1st 40 or more rows are reserved, then GA in the latter rows. The only thing I don't like about the first 6 rows being GA is they are will call (could slow one down). From the website:

The Red Rocks Box Office & Will Call is located on Red Rocks Park Road (Entrance 2). It's open on show days approximately 2 1/2 hours prior to showtime. Tickets are only available for same-day events.

So...to get one of those rows, would I have to get in line at the box office the day of the show?

Or would I be able to purchase one of those tickets and just pick it up at the box office after already paying for it previously?

No Edge walk for me, yet, maybe this will be the time! I usually take a couple friends, but I think this one is limited to me and the boyfriend.

I'm definitely going to be at the show, and I'd love to meet up before/during or whatever with anyone coming to town to see the show! I've never met any Ledgies, so there's a first time for everything.

This is turning into a Ledgie Reunion. It might end up the best night of the tour.

Wish I could go to this show, but its just not feasable for me.

I hate to harp on about this but I still don't get why these dates are being announced so late. The first one is less than 8 weeks away! Since I'm not going to these ones anyway (or I might, I'm trying to plan the trip now) I just really hope everyone here who wants to go and is noy stopped by the fact that they're not able to save enough $ for ticket. travel,. accommodation etc in time for the gig.

Because Stevie and her camp were waiting for IYD to be deemed a hit by the industry, so the promoters would come calling. Yep, it's annoying. Especially when LB's shows aren't until Sept./Oct. and I'm forced to buy tickets for both SN and LB within the same credit card billing period.

Hey guys .Woodlands Pavilion .Woodlands, TX on aug 13 just popped up on livenation.

Yay that's it's on a Saturday. Boo that the flames of hell will be lapping at my legs while drenched in a sauna. I"m still undecided on whether to go to both TX shows or just the one indoors in Dallas. But I haven't missed a Stevie show at the Woodlands since the first time I saw her there on the Street Angel tour, or maybe Timespace.

Paula, or a mod: Would someone please edit the first post in this thread w/ each new date announced? I like to see them all in one, clean list without having to read all the new posts. :-) I don't mind one new thread for each city, but I agree, we don't need one for each activity (photos, presales, meetings, etc.) in each city. Thanks!

This venue is only about 4 hours away from me!!! I am going!
After all these years of loving Stevie and FM, I am finally going to see her live!!

Does anyone know if there are hotels near this venue?
The seating chart looks promising. I am hoping for close seats, but, even the back rows don't appear too far from the stage. I hope the seating chart is accurate.

I don't have American Express, so, I will have to order through Ticketmaster on 6/24.

Yes, there are plenty. Rosemont is right by O'Hare airport.

I saw her there a few years ago. It's not a bad venue, but that night the sound was something terrible. Wasn't her fault. There was a problem with something from sound check causing her more ear monitor problems than the usual. She was pretty unhappy most of the show. Hopefully this time around will be better!!

Hi all, the enthusiasm in this thread got me to finally post. I'm a longtime lurker, but a huge fan of Stevie and the Mac.

I'm SO excited for this show. The greatest artist in the world at the greatest venue? I will be there!

I haven't seen Stevie in years, in fact the last time was at Red Rocks in either 05 or 06, lol can't remember which year right now.

Hoping to hear some new songs, but I'll be honest, I'll be ok with any setlist since it's been so long since I've heard her live.

The other reason for my post is to hopefully join the party/reunion, I know I haven't talked to anybody, but I'm eager to meet some hardcore Stevie fans (in person) for the first time in my life!

I just watched Live at Red Rocks! and I'm now even more excited, which did not seem possible four hours ago. Can it just be August now, please?

Love your name. If we meet we'll have to carve a little time out of the Steviefest to talk One Life--I interned there for a year and am going back in the fall (had to be there to the end:().
