I checked the Toledo show around 11am EST (1 hour after they went on sale.) Pulled up 6th row. I didn't buy, as I'm not sure I can make it. But still really good seats left - I don't know if that's good or bad. If these shows sell well, she might add more dates. But if not.... :(

Just bougth tickets for Indianapolis!!!

LiveNation says if you find better seats, up unitl one week before show time, you can upgrade...

I got row ten...pretty good!!

Live nation will let you do that? That's awesome! Maybe their merger with Ticketmaster isn't so bad afterall.

Jamie, they only do that for specific venues. It will say so in the upper right-hand of the event page. If you see nothing, they don't do it.

Houston people - use this seating chart: http://www.woodlandscenter.org/templates/default/images/seating_map.pdf

It's way more detailed than what's on TM - you can zoom in and see actual seat numbers. And that $250 they were showing for pricing before 10 AM today - wasn't there today. The most expensive seats are $125. Perhaps the pit was already gone in the presale before 10 AM, and that's why the $250 disappeared - though I doubt they would block out the entire pit for that - but who the heck knows? It's so corrupt. I haven't pulled up a pit seat yet - so far, the closest I've seen is 103, Row E, waaaay over on the outside aisle. If it was center aisle, I might have bought it. In fact, everything I pulled up was on the far outside aisles, never pulled up anything in the center 102 section. I'll wait it out... ;)

ETA: Now they're allowing the choose your own seat option, with their detailed map. Still, those side seats suck!

How'd you do for Dallas? I still don't know if I'll go to that one too, or just Houston. I've pulled row JJ and KK for Dallas, center section.

The Livenation-specific concerts are extremely strange. When I logged on at 10:15AM to buy tickets for the Jones Beach concert, 15 minutes after the on-sale time, the Interactive Seat Chart was disabled. A popup said it was because too many fans were accessing it. I ended up buying 2 seats for $125 in ORCH C, Row S. Then a few minutes later the Interactive Map popped up again, and all of a sudden tickets were back to $175. What is even stranger is that the seats I got in Row S don't appear to exist because the Interactive Map ends at Row M...

Is this normal? Seats you get through the Interactive Map are more expensive than similar seats through the "Best Available" search.

The front sections at JB have split pricing tiers, so the front (up to, like, the 10th row, I think) are $175 and everything behind that is $125 and below. It was very, very hard finding $175 tickets!

Uh-oh!
Sorry, your selected seats are about to be removed for one of two reasons:

Another fan beat you to ‘em. Seats you select aren’t officially reserved until you click “Checkout” and pass the security check, which means another fan can still purchase them. Please try again.
We couldn’t fulfill your order on this map. Please try different seats, or different ticket options for the same seats. If that doesn’t work, please click “Choose Seats for Me” (top right) and we’ll search best available based on your input.
For some reason we couldn’t complete your request. You may try the following:

I got crap for Boston this morning, even with Citi Card "preferred" seating. The only thing I was getting was the last row in Section 1, 2, or 3. So I went on StubHub and got 2nd row center section! Hate paying the extra prices but this is my only chance to see her this year so I figured what the hell, plus the show is my birthday present, so I'll just ask my family for donations to "Maria's Stevie Nicks Concert Habit"

Now I know why my Indianapolis thread was snubbed. Lol! I just saw this was a sticky!

Sara and I have 3rd row. The first time I saw the Mac it was in the exact same seats! They're awesome. I'm really excited for Sara, because this is her first Stevie show. Last time she came close for TISL she was 2. And then, she cancelled Indianapolis!!

This is correct; @ PNC NJ, there are 1000's of unsold SEATS priced at $25.00-$65.00.

Dots are unsold seats.

Nashville always gets skipped. The reason Stevie isn't playing here is because we don't have any venues that are the size she is playing on this tour. There was only one that might have worked, but I'm guessing they didn't offer enough money.

Has anybody (tour industry insiders) heard any rumblings about how well Stevie's ticket sales are selling for her US trek? It just seems like there are still a bunch of good tickets available in most markets:shrug: I'm wondering if the promoters will have to unload a bunch of tickets at fire sale prices at the last moment.

There is no reason for a fire sale-most, if not all, of the expensive seats have been sold, so there is probably little risk for the promoters at this point. Yes, each venue has 1000's of unsold seats, but they are in the $25-$60 range.

Should her management have gone for smaller venues? The answer is YES, but then ALL the tickets would have $200.

Same situation @ PNC NJ-there are many unsold $25 seats, so no need to sell lawn tickets.

Re Stubhub; don't forget most of the seats closest to the stage cost approx. $200. A scalper looks to reap 2X or 3X his/her investment. This tour is an EPIC FAILURE in regards to # of tickets sold, but not $$$ volume. Case in point-PNC NJ. Only 3000 out of the 6000 SEATS have been sold, but most of the ones sold are in the range of $150-$200, so Stevie's guarantee has more than likely been covered. The only people that are going to lose money are the scalpers holding seats that are not in the first few rows. The pricing made this tour about "how much of a fan are you?", based on how much you were willing to spend to sit near the stage.

Livia
08-05-2011, 04:51 PM
And don't forget that Ticketmaster either IS, or is in cahoots with StubHub. The closer it gets to the show, the more desperate they will be to sell 'em, and put them back in the face value batch on Ticketmaster.

Besides being hotter than Hades in Houston in August, I agree with Eugene's point. They are probably not yet selling the lawn seats in order to fill the higher-priced reserved seat sections, and meet their guarantee. And why would Stevie, or any performer, want to see a bunch of empty seats and most everyone else on the lawn?

I'm happy for you! But Man, this makes me sad.

Someone told me that the venue reserved pit tickets for people who owned summer concert series passes, so I went ahead and bought tickets that were in the orchestra section, figuring that would be the best I could get.

Eugene

Stubhub is OWNED by Ebay, and I'm of the belief that scalpers have the option to return tickets to TM if they don't sell.

No venue will sell lawn seats as long as there are "cheap" seats still left for sale. At PNC NJ in 2008, they moved people from the lawn to seats to fill up the venue...maybe 4000 tickets total were sold.

Livia
08-05-2011, 05:29 PM
Doesn't Sticketbastard sometimes have a link to StubHub from their own site - after you search and it says, "Don't like these tickets? Try StubHub!" In any case, that whole part of the concert industry is so corrupt...

Great news and such a beautiful town ... one of my very favorites :blob1: Great food, jazz clubs, mineral baths & massages, B&B's, horse racing ...Very much worth the trip and visit if you can fit it in -- Lake George within easy access might have better rates! Right next door they had the state run "baths" where little old ladies would wrap you in warmed sheets after a soak in the mineral baths before the massage -- one told me once she'd seen 'em all -- those stars who'd come to town-- "moles and all", ha.. closed that down when the Gideon Putnam took it over for ten times the price! First had tix there in 90 for FM but it was cancelled due to Christine's father's death, then Stevie in 91, great stage for her stuff, Rooms on Fire particularly great! In 94, she had to get off the stage at soundcheck cuz of lightning -- we cried waving bye to her bus! I remember twirling in the windy storm at the campground to "Listen to the Rain" ..later, 50 foot diameter craters in the park where huge maples and pines went down -- scary really! Lots of great dance and music there of all kinds! Hope this is the first of a set of dates that will showcase this great new music! Can't wait ...now I just need to get a sub for the first flippin' day of classes :)

Wow, great! What was the deal for the Edge walk at SPAC?
